This is the second time I've said this within a space of a day, but: "so many puns, so little time."

So I just did the shifting allegiances quest for the first time. Why isn't the evidence that Bhelen killed Trian/sent mercenaries after you there regardless of who you happen to support? Wish I could have mentioned it to Bhelen...one thing I'm curious about, though, is what the evidence says if you do shifting allegiances as a non-DN. Since the letters detail fratricide in one scenario and simply ambushing you in the second, what it says to a non-DN should let us know what the default option was.

I stopped aftering getting the Paragon quest as that takes far too long so does Harrowmont having proof about Trian affect anything at all?

I did that on my Human Noble...apparently Bhelen hired the Carta to kill Trian.

It doesn't affect anything in the long run, but if you do the Shifting Allegiances Quest, then well Harrowmont will stay silent after Oghren speaks.

So the default is to not kill Trian? I suppose that it looks worse for Bhelen to have had Trian killed then for Bhelen to have had mercenaries attack the person who actually kill Trian and who, if you're not a DN, no longer matters.

So we just cut out the 'I would like to believe Oghren...' part? Does Harrowmont give his usual 'you have acted with grace' line instead of his 'I am surprised but not ungrateful' one?

Gorim: Perhaps it is better for me to wish you the best and let you continue your business in the city.
Gorim: But please, let me at least offer you a discount on my father-in-law's crafts. They are all fine work.

PC: You jerk! I hope you and your ugly wife rot together!
Gorim: My lady, I am sorry.I would never have tried to hurt you.
Gorim: Forgive me.

I don't have a female DN, but I was starting to feel the urge to smack Gorim as I was reading this.

So did I...is it any more obvious he wants to get rid of you? Like 'Yeah, your father missed you, here's a shield, I got married, now go away.' That's only part of the conversation, though... Posted Image

I have the toolset open so gonna bring it up while I'm here

Since you're back to looking up toolset convos, at some point can you look up the Gorim reunion scene? I know some of the romance-specific VO ones were posted but not the entire thing and it's kind of hard to read.

Sarah, I'll put that on the agenda for tomorrow.

Thanks. Posted Image

DWARF NOBLE REUNION WITH GORIM IN DENERIM

Gorim: "Dwarven crafts! Fine dwarven--"
Gorim: "My lady/lord! My Lady/Lord Aeducan? Is-is that really you?"
Gorim: "I knew you survived. I never stopped believing it. And neither did your father. Before I left for the surface, King Endrin sent for me. It was almost more than I could endure, seeing him so."
Gorim: "As if he were long dead and rotten, and now merely an empty husk collapsing in on itself. He could not even rise from his bed, and the room stank of decay." (VO: pained)
Gorim: "He asked me... to give you the Shield of Aeducan. And this letter." (VO: Considering that finding the shield in the first place was the task that got you framed for murder, he's not really comfortable with this request. ACTION: Player recieves the Shield of Aeducan from the origin, and a letter from Endrin. See bottom of post for contents of letter.)

1. The shield ... I had almost forgotten about it.
Gorim: "I have carried them with me since I left Orzammar. As angry as I once was with the king, when I saw him that final time... I pitied him."
Gorim: "His eyes have haunted me since. If it were possible for a man to die of regret, I think King Endrin did."
Gorim: "But... we shouldn't dwell on the past. I can hardly tell you how good it is to see you alive." *Go to tree 1*

2. Why would he do that?
Gorim: "Until that moment, I had hated him for believing Bhelen, for exiling you, but If you had seen him... If you had heard his voice..."
Gorim: "His eyes have haunted me since. If it were possible for a man to die of regret, I think King Endrin did."
Gorim: "But... we shouldn't dwell on the past. I can hardly tell you how good it is to see you alive." *Go to tree 1*

3. I'm not sure I want anything from him now.
Gorim: "I cannot blame you for your anger. I hated the king myself, for what he did to you. But when I saw him that day..."
Gorim: "His eyes have haunted me since. If it were possible for a man to die of regret, I think King Endrin did."
Gorim: "But... we shouldn't dwell on the past. I can hardly tell you how good it is to see you alive." *Go to tree 1*

4. Did he say anything else?
Gorim: "He barely spoke at all. Every word seemed as if it had traveled the entire length of the Deep Roads."
Gorim: "'Find my daughter/son. No other deserves this,' was all that he said."
Gorim: "His eyes have haunted me since. If it were possible for a man to die of regret, I think King Endrin did."
Gorim: "But... we shouldn't dwell on the past. I can hardly tell you how good it is to see you alive." *Go to tree 1*

TREE #1
1. I can't believe I've found you here, of all places.
Gorim: "Aye. And far happier in my exile than I ever expected to be." *Go to tree 2*

2. And now you can take your place again as my second.
(IF: female) Gorim: "My lady, please, don't ask me to come with you."
(IF: male) Gorim: "My lord, I will be loyal to you until my death, but don't ask me to come with you."
Gorim: "I was injured in my travels here. My leg healed crooked and I will never fight again."
Gorim: "And... I have a new life now. I married into a surface family. My wife is lovely and her father is the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

[IF: Gorim_Romantic] 3. I never thought I'd see you again.
Gorim: "My lady... if I had thought to see you again..."
Gorim: "You will always be in my heart. But we both knew it wouldn't truly work out."
Gorim: "Here on the surface, I've found someone. My-my wife is a good woman, the daughter of the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

4. Of course I survived. No thanks to you.
Gorim: "Would that I could have been with you, but the ancestors are far wiser than we."
Gorim: "I think they have done the best for both of us. You are a Grey Warden, and I... I have found my heart on the surface."
Gorim: "My wife is a good woman, the daughter of the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

[IF: Harrowmont_King] 5. I am here and Harrowmont rules in Orzammar. We are avenged.
Gorim: "I heard that Lord Harrowmont took the throne with the assistance of a Grey Warden. I hoped it was you."
Gorim: "When the Blight is defeated, perhaps Harrowmont will step down to see you in your rightful place."
Gorim: "My life has been far less dramatic. I--I have married into a surface family. My wife is the daughter of the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

TREE #2

Gorim: "And... I have a new life now. I married into a surface family. My wife is lovely and her father is the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

2. So you're a merchant now?
Gorim: "I was injured in my travels here. My leg healed crooked and I will never fight again."
Gorim: "And... I have a new life now. I married into a surface family. My wife is lovely and her father is the best smith in Denerim."
Gorim: "We're... expecting our firstborn before the spring." (VO: proud, but hesitant) *Go to tree 4*

3. I'm glad you're happy.
Gorim: "And you?" *Go to tree 3*

4. Now that we're together, you can join me as a Grey Warden.

Gorim: "You are a princess. I'm not even a warrior anymore." (VO: I'm not good enough for you.) *Go to tree 5*

2. Well, when can I meet the lucky girl?
Gorim: "I would love to introduce you."
Gorim: "But you must have more important business than hearing about me."
Gorim: "Have a look at my father-in-law's crafts. All fine work, and I'll cut you a discount." *END DIALOGUE*

3. Gorim Saelac, a merchant. It's hard to believe it.

LETTER FROM KING ENDRIN

Perhaps you will burn this letter unread. For that, I would not blame you. But I would not return to the Stone without saying this to you: I have seen what Bhelen is. And when I saw it, I knew I had been a fool. For only a fool would cut out his own heart and burn it for the sake of appearnces. I never believed in your guilt. I allowed you to be exiled because I feared an inquiry into Trian's murder would taint our house with scandal in the eyes of the deshyrs and cost our family the throne. But I have saved nothing by this sacrifice: I sent my only child into an uncertain exile. Know that whatever you do now, you bear all the honor and pride of House Aeducan.

--------------------------------

AFTER GORIM REUNION COMPLETE
Gorim: "You do your father proud, my lady." (VO: fond and sad)
1. May I see your wares?
(IF: female) Gorim: "Of course, my lady. You do me great honor." *END DIALOGUE*
(IF: male) Gorim: "Certainly. You do me great honor, my lord." *END DIALOGUE*

2. Ancestors watch over you, Gorim. *END DIALOGUE*

(IF: UGLY_BREAKUP)
Gorim: "My lady. I hope you can forgive me. I was never right for you." (VO: apologetic and a little regretful)
1. Just show me your wares.
(IF: female) Gorim: "Of course, my lady. You do me great honor." *END DIALOGUE*
(IF: male) Gorim: "Certainly. You do me great honor, my lord." *END DIALOGUE*

2. Never mind.

I know exactly what you mean! I'm torn between being glad he's no blaming me for his exile and pissed at how he handled the 'by the way, I know I told you I'd love you forever but I totally ditched you for this surface girl I met.' Posted Image

He doesn't even do you the courtesy of explaining WHY he couldn't wait a few weeks/months. I'd be a lot more understanding if I knew it was about survival and he wasn't just ridiculously fickle. Posted ImagePosted Image

Easy, the girl he found was way better than your noble.

Having people who actually like others better than you is a novel concept.

It's like if you joined the militay and went off on a, say, one-year tour of duty. You find out that your GF/BF decided to get married to someone else in your absense. Sure, they might like them better but it's still a horrible thing to do! And that's certainly going to add some intimacy issues on top of eveything else...

I'm usually to lazy to make my own drinks (yes I count mixing two liquids as hard work). That is what you have bartender friends for.

But then again, 90% of all the alcohol I drink is whiskey and beer.

Well, part of his dialogue seems to indicate he didn't think he'd actually see you again:

3. I never thought I'd see you again.

Gorim: "My lady... if I had thought to see you again..."

He knew you'd survive somehow, but to actually find you again ... (dot dot dot)

He didn't think he'd see her again when he's standing in the middle of the Denerim market and constantly shouting? Or is where he is supposed to be a little more obscure game-wise? At least he doesn't say 'I've found my heart' when you're romancing him unless you tell him you've done the same thing or I really would have been upset because that's not the kind of thing you put in a breakup speech.
