yeah I'm just going to play this for the lulz, I can switch my mind off from my "canon" pretty well so....

And that makes the difference between obsessing over a video game character, and just RP-ing.

Remember that her PC talks to her.

ahahah.

Thanks Herr <3 That made me lulz.

It's not like proper voices in my head you guis, I swear

Im going to feel bad about killing Gorim (he's the reason my dwarf noble is so rich) but the fact that alistair spared howe makes me feel less terrible about killing him, even if my HNM befriended Nathaniel, but sparing Howe after all he has done just crosses the line.

Getting invested is fun. I'm well-aware they aren't real people and so if bad things happen to them I'm only a little sad and nothing like if something much less severe happened to someone in real life but hyperbolic statements can just add to the RP experience. What's the point if you're like 'I'm playing such-and-such but I must always remember that I don't really care because it's not actually real'? I can get into all of my characters, though my favorite, of course, is my DN.

The difference is when it starts clouding your judgement. Take for example DSC with Alistair romancing Leliana. Many Fangirls are now screaming that they will kill Leliana at the urn, or just leave her in Lothering. Some have even gotten the DLC just to kill her...

That's just extreme.

He probably didn't spare Howe just to be merciful (I mean, werewolves and Templars? How is that merciful?) but because he needed a powerful ally like that if Eamon's in a coma and he possibly never encountered Anora. He may not know the full extent of Howe's crimes (neither do we for that matter), if Anora never mentions the slavery he might not know and if he found out from Howe he'd spin it so it was Loghain's doing alone, the Cousland massacre would never come up, if Alistair never goes to the dungeon he doesn't find out about the torutre...really, Alistair could not have any idea just what a monster he is.

And that is the thing that disturbs me. Some people call it sane for them to be like that. I disagree completely!

Well, if Alistair had made all the goody goody choices, it would have sucked that he died despite all that. Makes more sense if he dies with ****** choices that got him in that position.

That's the thing, though: it's hard to tell sometimes if they actually mean it or, more likely, if they're just exaggerating for effect which can be a lot of fun.

From what I hear, the ashes were never found and Eamon died, so Teagan is the new bann, but even if Alistair didn't know Howe's crimes, that still doesn't make the fact that he still lived any better, but I can rectify that when the dlc comes to the ps3 and I can kill Howe again :) (in fact, I have a save just before fighting Howe with my HNM just so I can own Howe again and again)

It's going to be a massive blow against those who don't spare Loghain in arguments though.

Ever been to a concert with a highly popular band? Woman like those exist in real life, that do mean it.

What in that post indicated that she didn't know about them existing?

@Gilsa: funny thing about that, my pragmatic mage managed to make nearly the same choices (except I spared the mages because what mage would kill the mages, and I put harrowmont on the throne just for the trophy) but despite making those choices, I still managed to beat the game without a problem. Just goes to show that Alistair can't win anything without our bada** characters there to guide him.

It's also easier to write, to be frank. I've had conversations with myself to get the banter right so it flows.

Just so everyone knows, my favorite characters are my DNM and my HNM both are my best characters, have most and the best equipment, and they're rich

Did Morrigan offer the dark ritual to Alistair in the DC?

If Alistair sides with Howe early and never hears of his crimes you can't really blame him for letting such a powerful ally live. That's like blaming all the people who haven't played CE for letting Vaughn out in exchange for his support. My first playthrough I did that as I didn't really ask Soris what happened and just let him out. Vaughn barely even mentioned elves to me and what little vitriol he did show towards the elves when he was talking about how the riots forced him to call in Howe (he was mostly pissed at Howe) I chalked up to the riots being what got him into this position in the first place. It might not make his life any better, but it was an understandable thing to do with the information I had available.

I'm not sure how it would be. Alistair or Loghain are both basically just backing the PC up and clearly without them everyone is screwed. It does make me really glad Alistair finds a better advisort then, say, Morrigan since he makes such crappy decisions. He won't even listen to his LI Leliana when she tells him to stop being such an **** with the treaties?

I suppose she did, and he accepted it.

I'm not sure how it would be.

Loghain arguments almost always degenerate into Loghain being a ruthless criminal who deserves to die for his crimes. Good luck trying to argue for Alistair when he is very much willing to side with Howe.

'Tis one of the reasons Knight had a nerd rage in the Alistair thread, I suspect. ( Because Ali fangirls are just IGNORING that he sides with Howe )

You want to see how fangirls can get serious: once I posted a video on Tali's death on the Mass Effect 2 board, no annoying captions, a spoiler tag, and her death was quick and painless, and what did I get: an accusation of being a troll, constant flaming and the descent of the forum with actual trolls, so remind me to never annoy ANY fangirls ever again

I am considered a troll as well, for vehemently disagreeing with Alistair fangirls, and perhaps posting this video.

I looked it over and it seems like they're just saying Alistair has just as much reason (justified or not) to want Loghain dead as he does in Origins but apart from knowing Howe is the second-in-command who may have been involved but IS valuable, Alistair could have easily avoided seeing anythign to prove Howe is a monster. If he feels Howe wasn't involved then he's being naive and if he feels Loghain was ultimately the one to carry out whatever suggestions Howe made then he's partially right and could easily decide to look into Howe's involvement once they survive the Blight.

New rule: NEVER disagree or annoy ANY fangirls/fanboys on anything or you will get flamed and be considered a troll by them forever. P.S. enjoy the flaming if you post any video that so much as shows anything bad happening to their favorite character. Talimancers are one thing but I know better than to start the ****storm that would occur if I annoyed the Alistair fangirls

Oh, I stood in that ****storm and emerged alive....it's not pretty. I can't believe I am just going to quote the pathetic slackers in my raids in WoW, but I believe they are right.

"People take this **** too seriously."
