Gorim is a cripple. Of course he isn't hard, otherwise he would have followed you.

And left his pregnant wife?

He wouldn't have settled down as fast, thus not having a pregnant wife.

That makes sense. Even if he does love his wife I still think the speed in which he got married would have been due to his injury.

Don't do it! Making sure to have any and all romantic conversations while standing right in front of him is passive-aggressive vengeance enough!

By your actions as a brand, you can use your paragon status to put the spotlight on the plight of the casteless. Both the casteless and the surfacers are forsaken by the Stone. I find that surface dwarves tend to relate to the commoner better, like you are their equal now, not some spoiled brat that got kicked out by daddy. Your purpose in rebuilding Orzammar can be two-fold --
1) get the surfacers to CARE about what happens in Orzammar other than just plying their trade. Once Orzammar goes under, the surface is next.
2) To get people OUT of Dust Town. Why stay there when there's a better life on the surface? You saw the myths that the commoners tell themselves in order to stay. You can return to dispel that. When Sigrun sees the noble, she's a bit blase. Impressed, but blase. But with the commoner, she's excited and tripping over herself because you're a hero in Dust Town. That's the best position to be in to return and convince the Stone-forsaken that there's more to life than collecting dung and hunting nugs.

Furthermore, as nobles, we're so invested in Orzammar politics that we feel obligated to return, to keep the throne alive, to blah blah blah. We do not have shackles that bind as a commoner. We are free to travel the surface and meet more dwarves that have lost touch with their roots. Being in Kal Hirol as a commoner is a powerful moment because those people died to give Orzammar a chance.

When I played my DC who did not romance any one, I thought the whole world was interesting. She was seeing humans and elves for the first time. I was interested in the other dwarves I saw and wanted to know what their story was, even if they were just standing around in Denerim. I just wanted to travel. I didn't even have to worry about Rica because I knew she'd be fine no matter what. I wondered where my father would be. He left for the surface when Rica and I were little and I entertained the idea to see what became of the man, what he left for, ask him why he didn't come back to get us. (Possible he wasn't allowed back inside and thus couldn't reach his family.)

Possibilities abound. It's a very nice change from the noble story.

I agree that playing through the Last of the Legion quest in Awakening with my DC was very powerful and rewarding. Best part of the game.

I suppose the DC is not only not obligated to go back but not at all interested while the DN is but if they wanted to return ever since they got kicked out then it's not like it's really a burden. I also really don't see the appeal in just 'going travelling.' I saw enough of the world when I had a reason to during the Blight and now I'm supposed to keep wandering around aimlessly? I kind of had better things to do even as a DC.

That can be just as moving for a DN who grew up idolizing the founder of their House and just how little time he had to save Orzammar in. We don't know the details but I'm sure they weren't sitting around for five days once preparations were complete and we know Orzammar was barely saved. Realizing that without the casteless holding them off for five days they wouldn't have had a chance...it was chilling but more in a 'two hundred or so dwarves held off enough darkspawn to destroy the empire for five days' then any kinship with casteless that a DC might feel. Actually, I identified more with the warrior who decided to arm the casteless then with the 'why should we fight? Maybe we should just kill you' reactions the casteless had. That warrior who felt the need to carve the names into the stone so they wouldn't be forgotten...he remidned me of Aeducan.

Oh, and someone mentioned earlier than fall from grace stories are overdone too and I'll agree but people use the rags-to-riches as reason to play DC or CE and I don't use that as a reason to play DN or HN.

Well, they are heavily armored and if they've got a helm on it probably doesn't touch them.

Well, it is a problem. The legion is expected to die soon, so for them it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Having armor that cover you from tip to toe might help *points to Aeducan armor and Legion armor*

but what causes the taint? Just getting splattered with the blood or getting it inside a wound?

because all those people at Ostagar weren't all wardens and the PC was one of 3 possible canidates for GW...

sooo I don't get how any Non Warden even has a chance..

Well, it's only a danger if you drink it, get it in an open wound, or otherwise get infected. Darkspawn blood isn't acid, so getting some on your skin isn't dangerous, since the whole purpose of skin is to prevent things like infection. And if it gets in an open wound, an eye, your mouth, etc. then infection is a risk, but not a certainty.

Not to mention that dwarves fight covered head to toe in metal, which protects from blood as much as blades or arrows.

right. I am having trouble writing and I don't know if it's because:

1) I'm lazy.

2) I'm not feeling it baby

3) Missa is being an utter, utter c*ck to just about everyone and incapable of "nice." Everyone has been "when are we going to see her break?" And all I am doing is making her tougher and meaner because she's back in Dust Town.

Well, Dog got sick from ingesting it. It probably just is from having the blood get inside of you so an open wound is a good way to get it. Though the mere presence of darkspawn can taint you after prolonged exposure.

I'm feeling uninspired too, soignee, but I think that's just because I'm currently in the most boring area of the entire game. Stupid Lothering...
