As filks go, this adheres much too closely to the original lyrics to be really good, but it's also not bad.

Dust Town Girl
Occasionally attributed to Prince Bhelen Aeducan, but never within his hearing

Dust Town girl
She's been slumming in her Dust Town world
I bet she's never had a first-class guy
I bet her mamma never let her try

I'm gonna go for an Dust Town girl
She's been living in her dust slum world
As long as anyone with good sense can
And now she's looking for a Diamond Quarter man
That's what I am

And when she knows what
She wants from her time
And when she wakes up
And makes up her mind
She'll see I'm not so tough
Just because
I'm in love
With an Dust Town girl
You know I've seen her in her Dust Town world
She's getting tired of her low class toys
She'll get some presents from this uptown boy
She's got a choice

Dust Town girl
You know I can afford to buy her pearls
When the  dresses from the surface come in
She'll understand what kind of guy I've been
And then I'll win

And when she's walking
She's looking so fine
And when she's talking
She'll say that she's mine
She'll say I'm not so tough
Just because
I'm in love
With an Dust Town girl
She's been living in her dust slum world
As long as anyone with good sense can
And now she's looking for a Diamond Quarter man
That's what I am

Dust Town girl
She's my Dust Town girl
You know I'm in love
With an Dust Town girl

Hurr durr *eats a crayon*

As an aside when I first played WoW I had to RP as it was a LOLRP server. While I didn't actively take part, I did have a back story for my stupid, lumbering albino tauren called Fuzzy. Namely that he ate crayons. Specifically green ones.

Then I moved to a progression server and then quit because OH GOD MMOS ARE FAIL and the srsbzns -mostly getting texts from my raid leader of WHERE ARE YOU WE NEED A TANK WHY ARE YOU HAVING A LIFE when I already explained the whole "I won't be raiding tommorow you guis" thing several times over... Oh man. No.

And that's when Soignee deleted WoW...

Err....if you were online when they are having the raid the following day, the sincerely you don't have a excuse. ( That's the impression that I got from your words )
For me WoW has been something different. I started playing at the start of 2005, and raided most High End instances as a mage, before I quit at the start of TBC ( guild disbanded and I found out how retarded most tanks are in pugs ) so I made a blood elf paladin tank....

.....and went on to become the 7th of 8th Paladin Worlwide who tanked Illidan pre 3.0 on guild first kill. I used to be a de-facto raid leader in most guilds as I was, giving advice on bosses for tactics and such. ( I wouldn't do it again, ****ing pain in the ass if you ask me )
Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image
I stopped a around 2 months in WOTLK ( had already gotten all the best gear, killed many bosses on hard mode ) then my account got hacked...

I still miss my little tiny Blood Elf Female Tank :crying:

Is this sarcasm or some weird rule that is used in MMO-land?

If you don't want to raid because you want to go out in RL, or do something in RL...then you DON'T LOG IN WHEN THE RAID is going on.

All those screenshots are from 2008/2009. And all that **** is essential for a Main Tank.

Omen for threat, Grid for knowing the condition of the raid, PalaBuffs so I can easily buff people up, ( and know when they run out ). Target of target so I know if I lose agroo, or who the boss is targeting, and the various bars for the spells/trinkets/consumables I use.

Wait, raids last for days? And you are not allowed to play it if you are going to be missing the day after?

I didn't log in? I got a TEXT. As in, the raid leader called me. On my date. All the officers exchanged numbers "just in case" we couldn't make a raid, and what it turned into was "WANT TO DO ALT RUN IN NAXX LOL" or guilting people into healing/tanking (never DPSing, funny that) when they already said they wouldn't.

Also?

Real Life > raiding. Every damn time.

Raids are done every evening by most guilds, save for Saturday, however most guilds will only ask people to show up for three days out of six. You are allowed to play one day, and then miss the second, but just coming online and doing your farming or PVP or whatever when you said you wanted to go out in RL, is disrespectful towards the guild. The goal is for people to work together, not **** each other.

It takes a few days, sometimes the whole week to clear a dungeon.

As I said....that is the impression that I had from your words. But I agree that what happened in your case is extreme.

Guilds like the one you described, is the reason I don't play on the US...too many retarded americans., drama and ****. On the EU it's far better.

The best way to put it, is that there are more people on US serves with Room Temperature> IQ, then there are on EU servers.

I am starting to see what my friends were so busy doing all the time. Well, I don't know them anymore due to geographic relocations and me stopping to care.

ugh see now this "guild politics" **** is making me really, really glad I do not play anymore.

WoW: creating a hostile, crappy work-like *and* repetative situations where you're always chasing something and YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO QUIT.

My brother (who is lolcasual) is trying to tempt be back and reroll alliance with him, but nooooo. Just noooooo. ANYWAY! I'll put my bitterness away now. WoW: It really is like the ex you can't quit, seriously.

It's fun really. On farm raids we crack up jokes, discuss many topics ( such as politics, history, culture etc ), while on progress raids we get the challenge of a new boss, and finding ways to beat them.

I learned more about the world from WoW, then I did from anywhere else.

What did I learn from WoW?

Uhm. Uh.

Yeah, I got nothing. How to not keyboard turn! There we are. And keybinding. Also that I don't think I'd be happy moving to the states, unless I was richer then I am now and/or in a liberal state.

What I learned from MMOs -- it IS possible to gain quite a bit of weight when eating only one meal a day if you do nothing but sit and play.

And, ummm, hmmmmm. Sleep is for the weak?

I actually find the idea of guilds interesting, even its amateurish political side. The reason why I don't join is cause you need to be committed to playing the game a lot. And I simply don't have the desire nor time to commit myself that way. I can barely stand a game after a few hours really (DA and Sins of A solar Empire are the only main exceptions that I can think of).

Haha, sounds familiar. Thank gods I am addicted to exercise now, far more constructive.
