If you are working with Harrowmont he says that Bhelen called for a vote in two days and that's how long you have. Admittedly Harrowmont is stalling (I hate it that they use that same cutscene no matter who you side with because while I could believe that Bhelen doesn't need the support with you on his side and maybe just wants you out of the way so you couldn't complicate things by betraying him it doesn't explain why Harrowmont's giving you time to get back) so that would give you a few extra hours but if the vote must be held in two days I can't imagine the round trip takes any longer than three days. Which, again, fails.Costin_Razvan wrote...
Two days to go through the Deep Roads? Please, it would have at least half a month in real life!

Like minutes/hours or days/weeks? Or just how long doing everything was taking. I still think 'okay, you have two days to get to the Anvil, find Branka, convince her to help, and come back' and have you actually show up before the vote FAILS. They should have had it been at least a week.soignee wrote...

two days? That can't be right. In a way I'm relieved, I can trim some fat.
I just set up a clock system based on the Proving bells. I though the Proving grounds were fairly central and since dwarves have a lot of metal I assumed, OOH BIG BELL. It's just a throwaway little sentence about Missa explaining it, and how the unofficially the city uses it to measure time to a bunch of surfacers freaking out about not seeing the sky.

Two weeks to get there, and another to get back ( since they are cutting it directly instead of searching )
So yeah...it fails.

I agree, it's an expedition. Two days is like 30 miles down, tops. And that's hard marching and not stopping to fight Darkspawn/spiders/weird ass demons every half hour.

You can always change the dialogue so they tell you you have a week or something. That still doesn't quite feel like enough time (although I think Costin's right that the return trip should only take about half the time) but you can't have too much time to find her because where's the urgency in 'Okay, the vote is going to be in a month and you have to find her before then'?soignee wrote...

Or you could fill the story with sexy scenes of dwarven/zevran sex between fighting Darkspawn for two weeks.
Just saying it....
P.S. What's your take on my duster/noble interaction in War of Shadows....apparently Sarah disapproves.

Obviously not, but half a month would sound decent with delaying tactics involved.
Hell...courts today can DELAY trials for YEARS. I know that all too ****ing well.

luls no. No sex in the deep roads, even though Gaider loves it apaprently. (In both books and everything...)

I liked it, actually. A lot of pride on both sides. I'm worried you're using Brosca as a foil for your noble and that's about it, as her personality isn't come through yet.

Yeah, but these are dwarven nobles. The delaying tactics go on for too long and somebody takes out an axe.
Neither side is stupid enough to start a civil war. If that's what your referring to...

As Zevran would say: "Ah, but you wound me my dear."

'Tis something to remember when I start writing the next chapter.

Are you sure? They have a ton of guards in there and the Steward calls for a recess after the debate gets too heated and he thinks violence could break out. And what do you call Bhelen's little coup that half the Assembly is in on when Harrowmont becomes King? They seem just fine with the prospect of a civil war and it's already on ther verge of one by the time you arrive.Costin_Razvan wrote...

However when you first enter Orzammar, thing's aren't that incredibly heated between the two. Sure we see one of Bhelen's lackeys murder Harrowmont's guard but it's far from all out civil war.
P.S. Saw your pic in the Zevran thread Sarah, 'tis nice if you ask me.

You get it no matter what and so you have to fanwank that Bhelen doesn't need you to find the Paragon (which he doesn't) but is worried that you (especially if his sibling) will change sides. I wonder what it was supposed to be like if they had a special cutscene for supporting Bhelen. Harrowmont asking to cut the crap and just vote instead?Costin_Razvan wrote...
Well....another cut down scene.. Apparently that was intended with you supporting Harrowmont.
