Gilsa, Lady Jess, and soignee are already at least moderate Alistair fangirls although soignee's OTP involves Zevran.Costin_Razvan wrote...
On one hand I am glad about that....on the other, I don't particularly enjoy the thought of having Ali fangirls here, but oh well.
Alistair and Zev get equal love from my PC's..well, ok Zev I think is winning but I like them both.
@Costin Uhh...well you could try a thread that says "No fangirls allowed" I suppose?
I don't consider myself a "fangirl" of any specific character, I love the romances with Alistair, and with Zev. They were done extremely well, and that there ARE fangirls, proves that. I also think Morrigan is friggin awesome too. The whole "fangirl" word annoys me.
This! I love my Mo, I love my Zev, I love my Ali, I love my SHALE...
I do love dwarvies a lot though, the lore/writing is amazing. I always say I'm a DA fangirl. I'm a prominent Zevthread poster as dear lord it's fun, and mostly not about zev, pretty much.
Yeah the Alistair thread is currently about...sciency...stuff. I actually think those two threads would survive if those characters didn't return, because they are basically a community within a community, talking about a bunch of stuff NOT "on topic" at all. If all they ever talked about was Zev and Alistair, yeah they'd die off. But they have alot of people with alot of conversation options.

No,no, that's just baiting them and will be counterproductive.@Costin Uhh...well you could try a thread that says "No fangirls allowed" I suppose?
Good thing, too, as I'm not particularly excited about any of the actual romances in the game but I still post in both threads.Yeah the Alistair thread is currently about...sciency...stuff. How are you able make it so that the title of each of your chapters is in the middle and not the left side? For me that is what happens when I try to put it in the center.

I never write it in Word, just upload a single txt file with one word and then edit using their editor. ( Spellcheck is nice to have )

This is what happens when the pansy Elves declare war on Erebor. They Dwarves repel the attacks, take about 800 men, and capture one of the biggest elven towns, against almost 3000 elves. Slaughtering everyone in their way, ( Dwarven Empire is shown in Grey on the map )
Fools.

Your comparing the proud Dwarves of Orzammard, who have stood for millennia against the Darkspawn, mostly on their own, to the pathetic bloody elves who got conquered TWICE?

elves and dwarves in this game have a lot more in common then other fantasy based worlds, to be honest.
Very true as both are Dying races in the game

The Dwarves aren't dying. They're just going on vacation because Thedas can't handle the sheer awesomeness of them.
I like you, you can come again.

Incidentally, for half-dwarves the situation is a bit different. Dwarves aren't a very fertile race to begin with, and far less so when it comes to mating with humans and elves. In fact, it would be considered rare... rare enough that it's considered more of an oddity than a group of its own. The result is also less stigmatized... primarily because it's also less noticeable. You end up with what would appear to be a tall dwarf or a short human. That calls for a new model -- which we weren't going to get, even if we wanted to address such a rare case. Again, it's certainly something we could do in the future, though such a character would still be considered unusual.
But yeah, I would have tried it out. I'd still like to play a surfacer dwarf, too, if they ever made that origin available. See what it's like to not worry about ancestors or being "part of a Stone." What do they believe in? Chantry? Agnostic?

I lul'd.
Also my Orlesian is a surface dwarf, the fabulous Horier

Probaby not, actually. They only arise out of my pet peeve of human/dwarf relationships (more specifically DN/Aistair) and so I'd really not enjoy it. Besides, they wouldn't be connected to dwarven culture and that's part of what I love so much about playing a dwarf. Would a big elf fan want to play as a human with an elven mother or father knowing that their parent is helping their race die out by having human babies?Giggles_Manically wrote...
Would you guys have played a half dwarf if the option were avaliable? I keep hearing the rumor on the forums that half dwarves do exist in Thedas but you never encounter them anywhere. If nothing else it would be funny for everyone to do this when you meet them:

That depends. Would this be a surface-dwarf or a half-dwarf? Because the latter is never going to have any success at all.Gilsa wrote...
Sarah, sometimes the city elves run off to find their dalish kin in hopes of joining them and connecting with the old ways. Would you be interested in playing a surfacer dwarf with a desire of rejoining their dwarven brethren? I know it would be a lot harder to pull off since they're considered forsaken by the stone, but if there was a way to play out that angle, would that interest you at all?

orly? so sure about that, are you? Dragon Age can move forward to, oh, IDK, Diet Coke Age or something instead.

Can you really see the dwarves accepting a half-human into their ranks? They can't even accept the casteless.soignee wrote...

depends how far forward in history we are going and if indeed it goes down that path. 150 years ago you and I would probably be expected to be married by now I(note: not to each other!) and we could not vote, and the only jobs we could do were the ones suitable for our gender and our class. If we apply that same theory to Dragon Age (which is renaissance, I suppose) if it's set even 300 years beyond DA society will change.
(150 years ago I would be born into English rural working class, so I would probably be on my 5th kid by now and/or picking summer fruit from the local landowner and not allowed an opinion due to the t*ts and the poverty. Hurrah?)
