Interesting. I think one of Lords by Endrin in the throne room during the DN origin was a Bemot; either the one with the enormous nose or the one with theblonde hair.

When does he mentions this? I assume of course you have to be working for Bhelen when returning to Orzammar.

Vartag says this when you first approach him and say 'This treaty obliges Orzammar to send troops to the Surface.' If you tell him you need aid against a Blight he briefly mentions seeing the treaty in the Shapers' libraries but doesn't give you the background information. Of course, if the DN makes mention of the treaty then Vartag does not give you that line, presumably because he feels you already have that information whereas a casteless or a Surfacer would not.

And yes, Lords Bemot and Meino are the ones trying to persuade Endrin to approve of a trading contract with Kal Sharok that he doesn't like because apparently the Kal Sharok Assembly isn't respecting Orzammar's rule like he feels it should and he's trying to pressure them.

I hate it when you miss little bits of information like that when you choose a different dialogue option. I will remember that line when my pictured DN has a chat with him.

I do not know how much "pressure" you can place on Kal-Sharok that was thought to be "lost" for over a thousand years and has survived on its own with Darkspawn as its friends.

Neither am I but chances are they would have an easier time with support from Orzammar. I hate missing dialouge too and as a DN the character already knows this but the player doesn't unless they've had that conversation with Vartag and used that line on another character.

Meino: My King, please reconsider. The trade contracts alone could bring great prosperity to our houses...
Bemot: Will we really turn our back on our brothers and a potential fortune in cheap labor because of a political technicality?
Endrin: Denial of the traditions of our people does not qualify as a political technicality! There is more to life than monetary gains, my lords Bemot and Meino. The Assembly of Kal Sharok will respect the rule of Orzammar, or they will rot and die alone, surrounded by enemies.
Meino: Yes, my King.

Of course, I find Bemot's line about not wanting to turn his back on his brothers in Kal Sharok to be about as sincere as Dace's 'think of the poor Surfacers!'

Maybe it's intense sunburn? If you spend your whole life underground and so have your ancestors plus have lighter skin to begin with then after a few weeks you may very well look like that. It would actually be kind of amusing to have such a massive sunburn and then return to Orzammar and everybody freaks out about how the Surface has 'tainted' you or something. Posted Image

While it is cool the DN intro lacks the punch other Origins have had for me. Still fun to see the cruel inner workings of a court but not as emotional as a city elf, or Human Noble for me.

I have been playing with mods and when I saw the red skin pop up, I had to take it. First time on pc so I am always looking around for mods.

Take a guess on the fate of my charming brothers in the future

I would be amazed if they did not. Most of the warriors would have been killed during the First Blight defending the city. With the dwarves low birth rate, they had to change something drastic to upset Endrin.

Like shave their beards for fuel! Oh gods that would be terrible indeed. Maybe Endrin was on an ego trip and just wanted more power. Who knows he is not the most attentive of daddies.

I found it more emotional but I suppose that's just personal preference. What happened to Shianni was one of the worst (if not the worst) thing to happen in any of the origins and you did lose your whole family as a HN with a touching goodbye with your parents so I won't deny that those are both emotional. However, Valendrian tells you that have to leave for a few weeks as they'll be looking for you before the guard shows up and you become a GW so even though things are uncertain and you'll probably never live their again there's an expectation that you'll get to see your family and friends again at some point in the future.

As a HN Fergus is still alive there's the expectation right from the beginning when you tell Cailan what Howe's done that at some point Howe will face justice for what he's done and you'll get Highever restored to either you or Fergus. Loghain is the only one who knows who doesn't care and the other nobles you see are all offering support once the Blight is over to retake Highever.

As a DN you've lost your family as well as your older brother is dead, your younder brother wants you dead, and your father (who was the only one who could stop the Assembly from trying to kill you) does nothing. At first you think it's because he thinks you're guilty but then you find out he just wanted to avoid a scandal. Your life was worth less than avoiding a bloody scandal to him and you're the one he actually liked! Then it gets worse as you find out even though avoiding a scandal and keeping the throne are so much more important than you he still can't go through with making his most progressive child King and picks someone else to rule so your exile was basically worthless. Not to mention that until the Blight is ended and the Assembly makes the unprecedented decision to reinstate you you can NEVER go back to Orzammar. Ever. You can make a brief trip there to call on aid but everyone pretty much pretends that they don't know you (and you can call some of them on this like Lady Dace or the Shaper) or is incredibly hostile.

While the DE might choose not to return to their clan, the CE could stay away from the Alienage, the mage might not want to go back to the Tower, the HN could not return to Highever, and the DC probably won't want to live in Orzammar, the DN is the only one where they outright can't go home until they find out post-coronation that the Assembly wants to cash in on their fame which is part of what makes it so emotional for me.

I cannot wait until Kal Sharok is revealed. Seriously. It has to be vastly different to Orzammar like woah.

That makes sense. They are cut off from Orzammar and the Surface so they have to be completely self-sufficient and probably have no use for an entire section of their population who can't work (and we're not sure if the Assembly's decree about casteless not being allowed to have employment came before the fall of the Empire anyway)or for nobles who just stand around attempting to look honorable while plotting to kill each other and given what a traditionalist Endrin is he probably wouldn't stand for it.

Do not forgot about poor old Gorim; who is stuck in Denerim shouting "Fine Dwarven Crafts!" for months and is crippled by thugs. I would kick a member of my party so he would join.

My DN gave them the finger and stayed on as counseler to the Throne he liked being outside, and really the only reason he liked being a commander for the Aeducan's was squishing things with Gorim. He never got along well with Orzamar, and was more than happy to shelp off and leave them. Also he is a little irked about just how bad Harrowmont failed, then again he thinks dwarves should live on the surface and get a tan perhaps. Could also be because Leliana totally seduced him. :P

Well if you don't want to go back and hated it there anyway then of course you don't see it as emotional! If you hate Tamlen or Leske then you're not going to see their deaths as emotional either and if the HN parents were just too cutesy and cliche for you then it'll be 'yeah, okay. Have fun holding off the soldiers. I'm going to go off and be a Warden now!'

My DN happened to love Orzammar and really resented having to leave and the thought of never being able to return.

It's in worse shape than Orzammar. So I am interested in seeing it, but I am nto expecting to be amazed.

I hope there is the possibility to help Bhelen  / Orzammar reclaim the city.

Hey I actually got emotional at the end of the DN origin, except it was more like-
FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU I WILL GET YOU BHELEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The others were like a punch in the gut, while the DN made me clench my gut if that makes any sense. Besides butchering Bhelen in the assembly is a hoot!

So you doomed Orzammar just out of your desire for revenge?

You sir, are a TRUE noble.

We don't know that that dooms it. Harrowmont's only around for a few years and I'm betting little Endrin will end up taking the throne at some point and he can be the replacement dwarven Messiah for all those who kill off Bhelen.

I'm soooo happy with this one. This is my third is my series of Veylya Brosca and Zev. This is an about to be kissed Vey before she has to confront her past at Orzammar.
