As long as there's no dialogue so I can assume she's introducing Gorim to her replacement second...

The only thing that mildly irked me was reflected in aimo's drawing of the Aeducan and Cousland squaring off each other:

The little RP dwarf in me goes, "But I'm already royalty! You can't get the crown without steamrolling over Alistair! IT DOESN'T COUNT." =p

Well, the DN can't get it unless you steamroll Bhelen.

That's if they want to be queen. If they're willing to settle for princess they're already there (especially so with Bhelen on the throne).Herr Uhl wrote...

If you're a DC you can become Eamon or Teagan though, awesome. (I dislike them both)

More like Bhelen had to steamroll over the DN to take it away.

Not really royal, but uncle/aunt of the king. As long as Cailan lived that is.

There is no way in hell a casteless noble hunter like her will be Queen in a DN or non-dwarf game but since she is a noble in the DC game there is a chance that Bhelen might.Giggles_Manically wrote...
I thought Rica was not made the queen in game, only we assume that she will be.

I don't think there's really enough one way or another to rule Rica out as being queen because even when my Brosca picked Harrowmont and saw Rica again at the post-coronation ceremony, he was apologizing to her for getting her husband killed. But then again, if you pick Bhelen, you hear the two noble hunters vying to get Bhelen's attention and be his queen while dismissing Rica as insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

I was just trying to connect the dots with Herr's analogy. He was going for the aunt/uncle angle while I was looking at it from the sibling angle. He's right about the aunt/uncle angle -- Rica would not need to be queen for the DC to still be similar to Eamon/Teagan.

That is why I go with the Endrin angle. Firstborns are popular amongst dwarves, as long as they can survive.

If Bhelen is alive, though, she points out that she's not his wife. Maybe she just doesn't see the need to correct people since he's dead? Rica never thinks she'll end up marrying him and unless Bhelen wanted to scandalize everyone more and lose ALL of his noble allies (and probably not just them as even lower castes look down on casteless) or is so overcome by love that he can't help it, there's no need. She's sticking around as Endrin's mother and his concubine anyway.Gilsa wrote...

Bhelen marrying a non-DC-Warden Rica would be like Alistair making a non-HNF-Warden his Queen. He just can't do it without completely overthrowing society and even though we know he makes a lot of changes he doesn't do away with the caste system altogether and so it would still be the equivalent of, say, Maric marrying Goldanna's mother. Besides, what does Rica know about politics or power? Actually, I'm not sure making her an ambassador was the best plan, either...

But that's if you're a DC. Then you and Rica are noble so he can marry her. The Assembly wouldn't accept it otherwise any more than the Landsmeet would. And is Bhelen really that sentimental he'd insist on marrying Rica just because he might love her and she had his child?Giggles_Manically wrote...
If Bhelen wants to put Rica on the throne he would, I doubt he would care if some nobles got whiny. If a casteless can become a paragon why not Queen. I mean my DC was crazy about protecting his sister Im sure Bhelen could tell people "Its not me you have to worry about, If you upset Rica, than the only Paragon remaning will come and get you"

DC: "Does that put my nephew in line for the throne?"
Bhelen: "I haven't exactly picked an heir yet. But he is my son and a son of House Aeducan. He has the same rights as any sons of my wife's body."
For some reason, at the time, I thought that meant Bhelen was already married with kids. I looked in VO notes. Turns out the original line was: "When I do take power, I hope to hold onto it for quite some time, so I haven't exactly picked an heir yet."
I don't have a point other than oh, hey, new line in toolset.
