@ Costin. Well I read it and I must say I'm imrpessed. To be honest I was at first skepitcal like I am of most FFs. But I like it. I like the history and codexes you provide. The flashbacks. And it is an original scenario, having several Origin characters fight together and interact.
Maybe Trian being made too much of a fool was a bit excessive. But other than that, I like it. Well done and good luck with the rest.

Thanks for the review! At least someone appreciates the unique history I put in it.

Admittedly maybe I DID go over the top with Trian...

It is filtered through your DN's persepctive, right? If he had little respect for his brother then it's hardly going to be an unbiased account.

Yes it is filtered through his viewpoint. You see, Duran wanted to murder Trian for years, Bhelen just presented an opportunity, but he always knew that killing Trian always carried a heavy risk. That is why he doesn't hold a grudge against his brother.

Heh, I don't actually have any angst towards Cousland queens because I don't read fanfic, but soignee has shared her horror stories to me. One person posted about how satisfying it was to end as his queen and then when soignee shared her enthusiasm for the Aeducan/Alistair pairing, meow from the Cousland poster. Sheesh. Soignee did have her defenders so all was well and good. ;)

Ah, that was pure fail on the internets. I was all gushy I LOVE THIS PAIRING and then a couscous was all YES BUT WHY WHEN I CLEARLY SUPERIOR.

..Since I am having writer's block on DDW I may write another chapter on home, all things considered.

I'm an equal opportunity-Alistairst. More Alistair love for everyone! And I really love the A/A pairing, so you should write moar! Although I do have to admit, Zev gets all my love on DC. With maybe a little Leli thrown in.

Alistair always gets a crush on my characters but whether or not they're willing to go for a human or are even looking for a relationship is another story...although he was with my DC for awhile. Then he went off and became King and she started freaking out about the Rica parallel she saw and let him go.

Do Dwarf Commenors not wear full beards or something. My DC has a really thick beard, but it seems that no other guy in Dust Down has anything beyond scruff.

It would get pretty tangled. Easier to get rid of it.

I think the guy you have to threaten for the Tapster tip at the beginning does:

So does Beraht but he's not casteless. Maybe it's too much maintenance for most of them.

Beards seem to be a symbol of power amongst the Dwarves. So I think it's symbolic that the casteless usually don't have any. That, plus a beard is not handy for stealth and all that really.

Off-Topic: For those who have played fallout 3...how do you guys feel about introducing the virus that will kill anyone infected with radiation? As in the FEV given by "President" Eden.

In my opinion, it is the best call. Certainly it will kill most people that live in the world, provided it spreads that far, but humanity cannot hope to rebuild unless they get rid of anyone irradiated.

You do realize it will kill the Lone Wanderer as well right? Since you were not born in a vault.  Besides I do a good enough job killing mutants that I dont need help. Besides WHO THE HELL ARE WE TO DECIDE THE NEXT STEP IN EVOLUTION!

Star Trek: Insurrection.

I know it will kill the lone wanderer....not that my Lone Wandered doesn't already have a pure water source at Tempeny Tower, heh.

And it is within my right to choose, and I do so. I consider it the best long term best choice as eventually people will stop being bred with radiation. And it's not just about removing those irradiated. Eventually enough water will be changed that it will begin to rain with FEV, and when that happens ALL the mutated wildlife and plants will die, allowing nature to grow again.

I wonder what would TIM think of this...hmm.

If humanity has survived this long then it has the ability to go long term. Who knows what will happen in the course of evolution. Look at what happened when the British introduced new species or eradicated others, which is not as bad as accidental changes caused by people. So no I am glad I gave the FEV to the BoS.

Why, exactly, it "cannot hope to rebuild" if there's some irradiated people living somewhere on earth? It's a big planet, can hold well over 6 billions without getting overcrowded.

The question isn't whether humanity will survive or not Giggles. The question is if it will be able to rebuild it's civilization.

With things like Ghouls and Mutants running around, I don't believe that it can rebuild.

Because you have a LOT of Ghouls and Mutants slaughtering anyone in their way.

But this is doing the opposite of what the British did. Take away the human influence and kick nature back into gear.

It's like saying that we should continue polluting until wildlife grows resistant to it.

You know, this reminds me of the Tiberium univese, where Kane appears to want humanity to embrace tiberium and not reject it, essentially becoming ******-tiberius (C&C 4 doesnt' exist btw). I don't know about the specifics of Fallout 3. But if this mutation can be embraced and harnessed to make humanity evolve, then why not. Disasters can be made constructive.

But maybe it's too different for a Tiberium analogy to be pertinent.

The Mutants wont survive for long since no one is making FEV virus anymore they will eventually die out. And since Sarah Lyons shot me down my Wanderer has probably killed more than enough mutants to push them into extinction.

Also the question is about whether humanity can survive or not! Eden says that, he wants only the Enclave to survive to repopulate. Besides I like all the people in Rivet Town, Megaton, Big Town, and the Republic of Dave. Also most Ghouls are cool people just go to Underworld. They may look scary but most are just trying to live like Gob.

In the Tiberium Universe we have the mutants who are as intelligent as regular humans, however in Fallout we do have the Ghouls who SOME are also as intelligent while most of them are mindless, same goes for the Mutants.

And since Sarah Lyons shot me down my Wanderer has probably killed more than enough mutants to push them into extinction.

"Laughs" You just killed Mutants in a PART of DC, not even all of it. The Mutants and Ghouls outnumber humanity and they are immortal I believe ( well age wise anyway they can still bleed )

And i repeat, it's a big planet. The game which happens on what, 4 sq km of terrain with artificially generated encounters every few steps so the player doesn't get bored with something more realistic (that would be being able to travel for days and weeks without encountering another soul) simply cannot convey it.

As I repeat myself. Rebuilding is not something that can occur as long as you have a permanent threat out there randomly attacking you. It would take thousands of years for nature to stabilize if you don't use the FEV, while with the FEV I believe it could take a few hundred years.
