I just came accross a revalation.
Sonny Corleone = Trian. Older, hot headed angry brother
Fredo Corleone = DN. Well...depends on how you RP it I guess. Middle brother
Michael Corleone = Bhelen. Cunning, calculating and ruthless little bro.
That's awesome.

I haven't actually seen or read the Godfather but I looked Fredo up on Wikipedia: "weakest of the three Corleone brothers" "of personal inadequacy and his inability to act effectively on his own behalf" "has a good heart, he is weak and stupid."  "seen as unqualified nepotism" I really can't say I like that particular comparison...

Also, I was looking through the codex entries and apparently the dwarves follow the Chantry calendar. I know that probably makes things less confusing but...why would they do that? They have little contact with the Chantry and the Surface so why would they adopt that system?

Yes, modded dwarf massive armor that looks like it's make out of rocks. Makes me look like a mini golem.

Btw, anyone else frustrated with the lack of good dwarven massive armor in this game?

Blood Dragon and Legion sets being the exception ofc.

And thus she will try to screw you.

Well, that would happen even if she hated you.

Well now that is how I can see some DNs, no offence intended.

I wouldn't call your DN stupid or weak, but it is clear she has seen her share of nepotism, and is naive as she has lived a mostly sheltered life.

Also, I was looking through the codex entries and apparently the dwarves follow the Chantry calendar.

Everyone follows the Chantry Calendar on the surface, so why shouldn't the dwarves switch to it as well? It would seem odd for them NOT to.

Thanks. I had some issues getting the files to the DAupdater but I finally got it to work and it shows up as an active download on the main menu.

Shouldn't that be called "Grand Theft Bronto"?

Dude I was thinking about that like woah. You know dwarves would rock hummers that are like, BRONTO POWERED. The size of a hummer. And Leske hanging out the side thinking he's all cool. No Leske, just... No.

It is essentially a lazy fanart as I couldn't be bothered to download the font to do my own, so eh. Soignee=mostly lazy.

There's nothing I can do about the nepotism or sheltered life as the origin makes it clear that that's canon although at least you can't play it as completely unqualified as you to have some semblance of leadership qualities even if you aren't the best as Alistair puts you in charge and you need to be a good fighter in order to survive the Deep Roads and play such a large role in ending the Blight. You're becoming a commander because you're the king's child and his favorite (what do you want to bet Trian didn't get anything nearly as nice as 'find the legendary Shield of Aeducan' as his first command and if Endrin's father speculated where it was Endrin could have given his firstborn that mission). And then there's the fact that when you talk to Mardy and Teli no matter what option you pick has Gorim need to explain to you what a noble hunter is, you're not allowed to walk to the Proving you can be fighting in unaccompanied, and if you don't fight in the Proving and talk to the trainer instead then you three can't figure out how the DC learned how to fight in order to win Duncan's proving so you know nothing about the carta. It was kind of annoying just how clearly sheltered you're forced to be but given dwarven society...not that surprising. That actually makes Bhelen's lower-caste connections even more impressive.

And most people in Thedas follows the Chantry calendar but most of Thedas is Andrastrian. As this shows, the elves (at least the Dalish) and the Tevinter have their own calendars and DA takes place in year 9:30 Dragon according to the Chantry, 2025 TE (founding of the Imperium) according to the Tevinter, and 8430 FA (founding of Arlathan) according to the Dalish. In light of that, why do the dwarves follow the Chanty calendar?

Maybe because they rely on surface trade to survive? Everyone who traded with the British in their Colinial times started to adapt to their calender. Money is a very powerful influence on people.

that's how I view it. I wrote that dwarves in Orzammar used a mixture of surface time (the merchants and traders stuck to) and I whatever it is they use. I used the Proving bells as a time measurement. (LOL FANDOM TAKING LORE INTO THEIR OWN HANDS, LOLLLL)

I don't like it. The dwarves must have had their own way of measuring time before the Chantry came along and if the Tevinter can't be bothered to change their time even though they have a Chantry and the Dalish have kept their time even though they were enslaved for years on end and lost much of their culture why wouldn't the dwarves be able to keep their time? They seem stubborn and traditional enough to do that? Since it's canon, however, that they follow the Chantry calendar...I suppose that that's about as good a reason as any. *shrug* was sick of not writing about time passing/scale in Orzammar, so I invented a reason. It's not perfect and frankly vague, but eh.

I find it strange as well.

Of all the races in Thedas, Dwarves seem to be the ones most opposed to outside influence.
