I liked Sereda, too, which is why that's my DC name. I just have this irrational hatred of keeping the default names (I especially hate the default HNF name) and so I try to ignore it in fanfiction that keeps it.

I also like Natia, Lyna, Darrian, Solona, Elissa and Faren, but I hate the rest, especially Aedan ( wtf is that name ). That is why my HNM is called Boromir.

Oh and Soignee: Reply to my PM if you please....or is my idea so idiotic it's not worth a reply?

I don't like using default names, mostly because I don't like any of them. Norala is a DC, so I guess I could just say Kalah was drunk when she named her lol

it's what I say about Missa. At some point I was going to write that it was a nickname and not her full name, but eh. It's stuck now.

I dislike Daylen, Alim, Darrian, Theron, Duran, and Faren for males although Aedan is okay. Still, when I was trying to think of a name for my male Cousland I left the room and my brother Michael decided to name him after himself so I got stuck with that which isn't too bad. I also dislike Elissa, Solona, Natia, Lyna, or Kallian. Sereda is okay but I don't like the way 'Sereda Aeducan' sounds although I am a fan of 'Sereda Brosca.' I think it's just too much of a mouthful to have two three-syllable names in a row.

But imagine if it were a really unsuitable name for her and Rica accidentally outed her right before Missa left Orzammar... Posted Image

How do you guys name your dwarves? I'm starting to worry that Norala is a weird name for a dwarf...mostly because it reminds me of Nala from Lion King lol.

I use a dwarf name generator from here: http://www.rdinn.com...e_generator.php

There are other generators that will give you meanings of the names, but I like the above link the best because I can get 100 names at a time. I just pick from what I like best. Sometimes I name my dwarves after women that inspire me such as Bea Arthur or Jane Lynch (in which cases, I'll just use names of characters they've played).

Names I've used from generator: Jorunn, Vonren, Gilsa, Maud, Glorren, Balthor (male Brosca)
Names I've used from Bea Arthur: Vera, Maude

Of course you would approve! I guess this is going to be my stab at comedy with Zevran, Oghren, Anders and Loghain rubbing his forehead every two minutes when the first three talk.

Th only default name I used was Alim, and I did that because in Arabic it means scholar / scientist, which I found was cool. I dislike the rest. Especially Duran, it feels so out of place. Duran is a French / Latin name, which is undwarvish. No offense to Costin's Duran.

Isn't your DN name really close to that?

One day I am going to do a Dwarf Noble run with one called Gimli. Go figure Gimli is actually a dwarven noble. Although he dosent get that much exposure in the books I will try to play like he would. Any suggestions on what you think he would do?

Dain is old English / Germanic (some sources say Scandinavian). I think it sounds very Dwarven.

I never liked the default names; it feels cheap to me for the game to name your character. Though the names that I randomly pull out of thin air do not exist/make no sense, it makes the character feel like my character unlike other games where your character has a fixed name. Sounds weird I know.

By the way, if you have a LI as a DN, will Gorim have a different set of dialogue?

If you say that you're glad he's happy then he asks if you are and these are some of your responses.

(IF: Harrowmont_king) 6. I have kept the throne from Bhelen. I am content.

Gorim: "When the Blight is defeated, perhaps Harrowmont will step down to see you in your rightful place."

Gorim: "My life has been far less dramatic. I--I have married into a surface family. My wife is the daughter of the best smith in Denerim."

I leave the default names simply because this way it's pretty much guaranteed these are 'normal' names in the game settings.

Ah, I thought it may have been a bug when I tried it earlier. I will have to try it again. I had some issues earlier that may have been a bug as well during the Urn quest.

Seriously, Adal is awesome.
Posted Image
The only moment in the game he seems strong enough to be King.
Posted Image

Posted Image

I love how calm he looks here. "Just as planned..."
Posted Image
Seriously, if anyone had glanced over at him it's clear that he's not upset in the slightest.

He's all 'so DN's in trouble for killing Trian...why won't you notice me?!?!' Posted Image

Despite their lack of brands these are called castelss mercenaries. Do they just assume they are Surface casteless?
Posted Image
Posted Image
A close-up reveals still no brand.
Posted Image
Posted Image
I love how Endrin just pushes him out of the way. If anyone was wondering why Bhelen has daddy issues, I really think it's moments like these.

The evil, gossiping prison guard that prevented me from having a goodbye with Gorim.
Posted Image

It still makes me shake my head at how surprised the one on the left is to see a dwarf in the Deep Roads. I mean, maybe if you were a random human or elf...

Aedan and Fergus come from the Scottish Arthurian Legend as relatives (sometimes brothers, sometimes ancestors) of a noble Scot house that fought the Picts.  I like the name Duran because it's close to the Gaelic name Doran which means exiled warrior. Seems absolutely perfect for the Dwarf Origin.

Evil. Pure evil.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
At least he looks guilty for screwing you over?
Posted Image
He's so unconvincing when he does it, too.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
I'm not sure why this picture is adorable but it is. Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
His daddy issues do not appeciate being ignored as Endrin deals with his other two siblings. Even dead Trian gets more attention. Posted Image
Posted Image
It's like he's lifting weights.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Bhelen is evidently watching out for swoopers as well.
Posted Image
I really like the armor on that poor, soon-to-be-murdered guard. This isn't Harrowmont's finest moment, however.
Posted Image
Did he just use his axe to...knock the guard over?
Posted Image
Harrowmont's origin outfit is just so much better...

Well, it is not a shocker that some of the Gray Wardens are a bit dim-witted. Especially during times like the setting in Dragon Age, the Wardens needed skilled warriors not rocket scientists.

Okay, last one:
Posted Image
Kardol? Badass.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Oh, you can actually see Trian's face in this picture! Creepy.
Posted Image
It's a good thing no one he's not screwing over/bribing can see his villain expression here.
Posted Image
Way to ruin the moment, nameless scout!
Posted Image
Them running looks so bizarre...
Posted Image
Posted Image
I hate this guy, too, but at least him you can kill.
Posted Image
Posted Image
And he's reallly ugly, too. There's a reason most dwarves have long beards!
Posted Image
The traitors conspiring together.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
That is NOT how you want people to find you!
Posted Image
Posted Image
You tell him, Gorim!
