John Bauer a Swedish artist. He made lots of art for fairy tales.

AHHH! That's it. And that's why I recogniiiseeee it, I had a fairytale book about trolls? One was about a princess marrying a sea king, which is all I can remember the most. Funny how visuals can kick start things, really.

I got read and later read a few of his (well, he  made the art) books. It warped my imagination into thinking that that is what trolls look like. And because they have the right shape to be able to be mistaken for moss-covered stones.

Ah, being scared of trolls, good times.

OK....What the ****?! I have gotten more viewers on my Warden of River Dane in one Prologue then I did in all my War of Shadows chapters COMBINED.

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF-

I suspect that has something to do with the fact that those who click on your new story know that they're going to be reading about Loghain and Zevran while your first story has such a vague description and no listed characters that it could be about anyone.

Trolls dont scare me that much. Mirelurks from Fallout 3 scare the sodding life out of me. So many times I think its a rock I just glanced at to turn around and see like 8 of the boogers chasing me. At least Super Mutants are decent enough to say how to you do before a fight.

I just bought the "game of the year" version of Fallout 3. My third time through and I've hardly explored the map. Love this game.

Mirelurks . . . I encountered my first three Mirelurk hunters today. Down in the flooded reactor level of vault 92.

[sarcasam]
Lots of fun.

That mission where you're planting a transmitter in their hive is reason enough to get stealth.

For those of you in the know there are two places that are very scary in the game to me:

An altar built by ghouls, very atmospheric, and terrifying with how dark it is. Imagine going in alone to a place and in the dark hearing this repeated again and again while being chased by monsters:

AS GHAN GULIKAN! AS GHAN GULIKAN! AS GHAN GULIKAN! AS GHAN GULIKAN!

While it gets louder and louder, and eventually you find a room full of ghouls worhshiping an altar out of a nightmare. Creepy to say the least.

The other topper is one of the vauts:

GGGGGGGAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!?!?!?!!??!!!!!!!!!

anyone who has heard it will never forget it.

FO3 is the best open world RPG i have played ever.

The reward and kudos was cool i guess but:

Irradiating yourself

Throwing yourself off of buildings

Running from monster

Running from Robots

Running from Giant Ants

Running from Raiders/ Fighting an running gunbattle in an old supermarket

and in general making you do suicidal stuff drove me crazy

Then again the book makes a lovely center piece in my house I guess, and the ad on Three Dogs show was pretty cool.

Lets not forget the hitting of molerats with a glowy stick.

My personal favorite was the quest where she wants to you to make your way through the town of Minefield. This was really fun to do on my first play-through. I had no idea how to disarm the mines.

Just picture it . . . some poor bastard running through a minefield "willynilly" while being shot at by a sniper with cars exploding into semi-nuclear fireballs all around.

Same thing for me first time. I got stuck in the playground not knowing which way to get out while being shot by a sniper. I made a run for it.

Good times.

havnt encountered a mirelurk at all yet...(got a quest from crazy moira to sneak into there nest though)

but god deathclaws are scary...... and im not talkign about the crippled encounter one either =/

I ran into one at lv3 while exploring... good thing I was being chased by some bounty hunters as well since I just bolted past them and the deathclaw decided it wanted them instead of me =E (it ripped them to shreds btw)

(I knew ot bolt because well i played FO1/2 and knew what they could do)

I take it these "Deathclaw" fellows only appear in "Broken Steel"? I'll run into them on this play-through of the game then.

1st time: Bad guy
2nd time: Good guy
This time: Whatever strikes my fancy. Going to do all of the content this time. I quit and restart after the "ending" of the game.

They exist in the vanilla game. And by god they're a [female canine] to kill. I remember needing a claw for one of my weapons.

I should have waited a couple of levels.
