As far as posting art, if you put it out there, you're opening yourself up to both good and bad comments. If someone just wants praise, and their art isn't amazingly praiseworthy, they shouldn't post it. And even if it IS amazingly praiseworthy, there will still be people who don't like it. I have zero talent, so I won't post anything of mine. But if I did, I'd expect the usual, "Hey, did you draw that in kindergarten," that I would deserve.

Edit: Yay, page topper!  DWARF KISS TIME!  Brosca + Zevran just works so well.

Was this the 'which one takes more effort' one?

Yeah it ended on that debate. It started with someone mentioning that they're not going to post fanart by other people again as they didn't like the reaction the posters gave.

My response was, "uh, and?" But more wordy and in a HUGE BLOCK OF FCKING TEXT. Which did not, uh, go down well.

I had to leave in the middle of that and I don't think I bothered catching up. So how much my fault would that be if I was the one who asked why people stopped posting fanart there in the first place?

Just watched the Ostagar video again. It's always such a nice contrast between the all-human Grey Warden army and the darkspawn who have just about every size covered in their ranks. The darkspawn are smarter than they look! =p

Which still doesn't say that much really.

Edit 2: Just caught up on the last 10 pages or so of the Alistair thread where I last left off. Wow. The thread has moved on so no point in me saying anything there, but I am sorry that you dealt with such open venom. Kinda blew my mind. Please don't let that deter you from participating in the Alistair thread though.

Eh, I tried. I did a walll of text that was mostly politeness.

I loved how when someone called her immature (which, you know, is so much more offensive then telling someone to go die in a fire in real life) everyone rushed to her defense as is usually typical of the thread. Posted Image

I'm sorry, I'm so out of energy (deployment almost over, few more weeks, I'm emotionally/mentally exhausted from the last 11 months) My defense was pretty lame, I know. And I do like everyone, just not what they do say sometimes. But I'm old and slightly mellowed out. And you know, half braindead lately.  I was glad to see you posting though today.

I actually popped in to ask a question. Is it "mam Brosca"? What do dusters call the horrible mom? aside from the BAD things...lol

Are you asking what her name is? It's Kalah, IIRC

Ol, mam. Not mum or mom, mam.

Kalah is the her name though.

Edit: Just because.

@Herr -- don't mind. I'm always nicely surprised when someone seeks out my artwork since there's better stuff floating around. I think I'm probably the only one who did Kalah though, lol. :D

@Jess -- Rica calls her "Mother," but Kalah refers to herself as "mam." You can go with either.

Such an underappreciated character.

And there is no need to be so modest.

Most of my Broscas would go with Mam though, since it is implied that Rica is a tad more cultured than you.

LOL. Sarah, so far, in my no-persuade playthrough, I failed to convince the Reverend Mother that I wanted to take Sten back to his people so I had to resort to threatening to invoke the Right of Conscription. She actually turned me down, saying that they could not be seen co-operating with the Grey Wardens. I was a little stunned because I didn't think anyone could say no to that. THISCLOSE to losing my temper with her when Leliana was able to start vouching for me.

Leliana stepped in so late? For me she always immediately speaks up as the minute I ask about Sten the Revered Mother asks her about her thoughts. Seriously, good luck with that playthrough. I don't think I'd have the dedication to go through all of that just for one line. Make sure to have a save file right before getting it to really make all of this worth it.

Are you playing a DN by any chance? If you are then I think you won't be able to side with Bhelen until the moment of truth with the crown as Vartag needs you to convince him that you don't care Bhelen had you killed. Of course, I'm not sure you can convince at least one of Harrowmont's fighters without persuade either....

No, playing a DC. And yeah, I knew that I wouldn't be able to hear Wynne's lines in this game because I'd fail to convince Vartag so not doing that this time. I've had other games where I failed a persuade check because my skill was low and I thought the resulting lines were comical.

Actually in my last DN game, I knew that I was going to crown Bhelen and when Dulin asked me to talk to the fighters, I changed my mind about that because if those two ended up fighting for Harrowmont, they'd get in trouble with Bhelen once he was crowned. I remember doing that on one of my games and feeling bad that they suffered for my last minute switcharoo.

You can always not convince them but still fight in the Proving and get on Harrowmont's good side. Bhelen's shocked dialogue and the lack of another Deep Roads expedition/being forced to talk to Lady Dace made it worth it every time.

Aye, that's how it went down in the last game. I liked how it turned out. Loved that I finally got a chance to wield Trian's maul on a 2H warrior.

Yea that pissed me off. I started considering intimidating her to get it. But Leli interferred, bless her manipulation skills.

But the right of conscription, technically, no longer has any value or power at that point as the Wardens were made illegal. I doubt that foolish mothe would stand up to Wardens and their right if they were in a much stronger position.

I had actually forgotten what Trian's maul looked like but after I took this picture...wow. It is huge. I want it. Although I'm still not sure why Trian and Bhelen are facing the wrong way...

And since I was going through my very limited makeshift screenshots...

Eh, Bhelen is so awesome, he already has Aeducan's shield and doesn't need to go to the deep roads to get it.

I never deal with the revered mother unless I want to intimidate her. I always grab Leliana, talk to sten, don't ask him WHY he's in the cage. Then say I'll speak to her. But instead, I have Leliana (or me) pick the lock and steal him.

FYI: do the lockpicking thing sometime, then stroll into the chantry with him and talk to the revered mother...lol kinda funny.

I never knew there was a lockpick option. I keep discovering more and more about this game!
