As long as he doesn't tell you why he was caged. If he tells you, then the lock won't pick.

Why is that? It seems rather arbitrary?Lady Jess wrote...

My first reaction was actually 'Wait, you killed how many people bare-handed? Welcome aboard.'KnightofPhoenix wrote...
They are assuming that if we knew what he did, we wouldn't want to pick his lock? Meeh.
I wanted to kick Bodhan out of the camp for his defeatist attitude towards reclaiming the lost thaigs but then I figured he'd probably take Sandal with him, so...Gilsa wrote...
LOL, yay, I failed the persuade check with Bodhan ("So what's your story?") so now I don't have to listen to that long-ass explanation of how he became a merchant!
Well how else can he start sending you ninja!pictures of her after she leaves and you get upset?KnightofPhoenix wrote...
I dislike Bodhan's positionin in the camp. It gives him a good view of the Morrigan tent and what happens there. Dwarf ninja photographers!

What do our we-didn't-bother-asking Wardens think he was in there for then? A Ferelden freak show?Lady Jess wrote...

I assume it's becaue once you know what he did, the game decides it wouldn't be "right" to be able to spring a criminal without permission. Ignorance is bliss?

Because you're probably in combat. Go to the zone line behind Branka's journal. You won't be able to zone, but it should take your rogue far enough to drop out of combat. Once that happens, summon your party to you and then finish off the spider queen crap. THEN you'll be able to do Branka's journal.Lady Jess wrote...

ROFL. Ok Miss Stealth Queen. Why can't I interact with Branka's journal?...lol

I was going to go with 'Branka's journal hates you, possibly because you're a Duster' but I suppose Gilsa's answer works, too.

Aye, your two big stealth keys are cutscenes and just being out of range to drop out of combat. When you see Branka, you can stealth past the first big area of darkspawn while she blathers on, but once you get to the gassed room with all the golems, you're basically fighting from that point on until you see Cairdin. The other area I like to stealth/skip stuff are the cultists/dragons en route to the Gauntlet because that is boring, boring, boring.
