I never knew there was a lockpick option. I keep discovering more and more about this game!

As long as he doesn't tell you why he was caged. If he tells you, then the lock won't pick.

You can always just pick the lock by right-clicking the cage itself instead of Sten, i think. At least my CE could do that.

LOL, yay, I failed the persuade check with Bodhan ("So what's your story?") so now I don't have to listen to that long-ass explanation of how he became a merchant! :D

Alas, don't count your chickens, GIlsa.  I failed that Persuade check, too, but the dialogue option came back later and just stayed there, mocking me, until I finally gave up and clicked on it.

I do like, though, that the PC can express righteous rage at Bodhan's scavenging... right before the PC goes on to loot some Lothering refugees or Alienage elves or something.  :P

As awesome as Dwarves in DA: O are...they can't match one in The Witcher...

Namely this guy, Dwarven Mohawk for the win. Dwarves there also invented Dice Poker.

Bodahn will always tell you eventually but it takes a higher level of coercion to get the story out of him if you did not tell him you are a Grey Warden when you rescued him from the darkspawn in Lothering.

I'm working on making any of my applicable armors compatible with TMP's proportion and unisex files.  This will make it so dwarf players can use my armors w/o having the extended finger issue.  Please let me know if you encounter any weirdness (screen shot of w/e weirdness appreciated).  I will try to get all applicable armors updated w/in the next few days.

is there anyway to shift one of the straps so it doesn't hover exactly over the breast? I go running and the backpack I use I have to position the straps so they don't, uh, chafe in places. I'm sort of wincing at the thought of a metal ring and strap directly over the boob. especially during running/fighting.

Of course, or a wizard did it and infact it's PAIN FREE thanks to awesome Fereldian sports bras! >.>

Wouldn't the fact there's something like half inch of thick leather between the strap and the body limit the issue somewhat, though? Posted Image

you'd still feel it. trust me. Especially if the maker blessed you with cups that spilleth over. You'll still feel that baldrick so tight against the body over armour. Things jiggle when you run/work out/fight, so... yeah ><. Even with awesome sports bras, after awhile the jiggle shifts things.

Also it's a nice design touch to have the straps under the curve of boobage, symmetry is pretty. Gravity would push the strap either up or under the boob after awhile anyway. It's just my eye is drawn to it and would be all NO PUT STRAP UNDER BOOB MAKES SENSE.

[/rambling thoughts of a gym obsessed clothe designer, don't mind me]

That's beyond my level of expertise. It still baffles me how people use multiple skins at once. I just do this as a hobby.

Ah. I was thinking it would be limited because these straps seem to be mostly used to secure the main belt in place and as such there wouldn't be too much movement to the whole thing, plus the armour itself works like encapsulating type of the sports bra which is supposedly more effective in keeping the jiggly parts in place. But i'll take the word of first-hand experience for that.

I kind of like it's non-symmetrical personally -- symmetry may be pretty but when it gets broken things get interesting, plus that way the main belt is secured in couple extra points -- i can see into making a version like you describe though, it wouldn't be too difficult.

edit: Serissia, you wouldn't need to do anything. I'd just move the belt on the mesh and people would see it one way or the other depending which version of the mesh they'd choose for themselves, your reskin would work seamlessly with both.

sorry, I know realism in a fantasy setting is LOLZ -especially clothes, lord knows I've seen enough gravity defying stuff in WoW- is silly, but it was just a thing I picked up on. Even if it remained in that position initially, it would twist around due to activity to lie over or under the boob thanks to motion.

Ignore me, I'm just putting my fitness obsessed eye on things. >.> This is a game of Magical T*t Tape and Silly Mage Hats, so...

lol, don't worry about that at all. I get compulsive-obsessive over the designs and whether they'd be functional and whatnot so this is actually valuable, thanks. I don't know when exactly the urge to fix it gets too strong to ignore but i'll put it on the pile of things to do and we'll see.

I didn't have much of a problem with this, back when I fought sword and board IRL*, and I've got plenty to jiggle.  Most armor smooshes everything down pretty solid, like a chest binding.  You'd hardly know I had boobs when I was armored up (in hardened leather lamellar curiass, not a big plate clamshell, either).

But we can't have boobless heroines, amirite?

*I have mage stats and no Arcane Warrior specialization, so that was a pretty laughable year.  But it was a good experience!

Boobless heroines Corker, what magical biscuts have you been chewing?

SOIGNEE BOOB ANECDATA TIME:

My experience with clothing for anything vaguely fitness related is my own experiences in: capoeira, body combat, kickboxing, yoga/pilates, running and general lulz in the gym. The clothing I wear for that is obviously not going to be like a leather cuirass, but I'm pretty strapped down thanks to my "shock absorbers" (they're actually called that. for srs.)  I have no idea what it's like to run in plate, not sure I want to. But mannnn think of the cardiovascular work out that is, awwwww yeah.

My job is clothing, but more fashion driven rather then, uh, "shock absorbers." I've been in the industry in various roles since I was 19, really. I design textiles now, which is basically the stuff you see in the shops in patterns/prints. Hardly kick ass stuff, butttt! I like to think someone somewhere is kicking ass in a t-shirt with one of my scribbles on it.

How things move on the body is entirely different to how they are on a mannequin/ pattern when you're at the toile stage. When you put things on a model for the first time it's interesting the amount you have to change thanks to movement, subtle things you wouldn't think of like moving the seams barely a cm. The straps around that outfit would totally shift as it's not attatched to the main bulk of the chestpiece, and the weight of the weapons would make it ping under the boobs thanks to motion rather then jiggle. TRUST ME I'M A DESIGNER...

Also POST PICS AND/OR LINK DEM I am curious as to what this armour looks like!

Dwarf thread: we talk about boobs. And jiggle. And jigglin' boobs. aaw yeah.

[/end ramble]

Gah, that was like in 2001 or 2002...

Okay, here is a picture of a guy in armor like that.  Bottom left, the shiny gold dude with the purple tabard.  A better image of the same style.  Just instead of metal plates, leather ones.  If you boil oak-tanned leather, it shrinks and gets hard and stiff and you can use it for armor like that.

This is not me, but it is a woman in armor.  Looks like plastic pretending to be boiled leather.

THERE I AM!  Wait, why am I a man?  Okay, the blue and black shield with the white star is totally mine.  I must have loaned it to someone.  Looks like my friend Gideon.

Bah.  Honestly, if I find a picture of me (which is looking unlikely - I'd be Random Background Storvik Fighter #2 to the guy taking the pictures) I'd be wearing a tabard over the armor and be standing behind a shield anyhow.  The first two pics are the best examples.

mannnnn that looks fun. I just pretend to fight stuff in the gym and in capoeira and stuff, not actually, you know, have shields and stuff.

I have a friend moving to England from Aus and she wants me to cosplay with her, so I'm researching Stuff That Isn't Actually Plate Metal But Looks Like It to wear for cons so I too can dress like a jedi and not wilt under the weight, butttttttt. Man, that looks srszns, Corker.

We're in England, too.  Regia Anglorum is more hardcore, though (although I don't know if they have women fighters).

Edit: A little too srs, actually.  The guys around here hit hard (so much so that it's a joke in other parts of the US, among our group), and after a spate of hand injuries in the area, I decided I wasn't having enough fun to risk breaking my harping hands.  Squishy mage is squishy!
