1) Different strokes for different folks.
2) LOL NO. Warrior/noble caste have tattoos to show their allegiance. You're thinking of the S shape (see icon) that the casteless have to show where the others have to spit.

Does that get mentioned in the game or in a codex? I don't remember seeing that for nobles. I know that Legion of the Dead apply their own tattoos at the funeral, but the noble part went right over my head. (Not seeing anything in my notes -- I tend to jot down anything dwarf related so I can remember it for later!)

@aimo -- Another idea is that Bhelen is a kinslayer and took out his whole family. What is to say that he won't kill Rica when he is bored with her? Or what if he feels someday that Rica's son is too much of a threat to his other sons and decides to kill him, too? (Remember, even King Endrin did not want Bhelen to take the throne.) So siding with Harrowmont could be like putting Rica in the witness protection program. Someday she'll understand! =p

I can't remember if the conversation between Harrowmont and DC got covered earlier in this thread, but if not, I can add it to this thread later today. I am going to have to start copying and pasting the trees to the dwarf group if this thread is going to keep growing and we can't find stuff anymore. =p

If Rica's son is not one of his favorites and does not want that child to be a consideration for the throne in the future, he could just assasinate the kid. If King Endrin knew that Bhelen was going to eliminate both Trian and the DN, do you think maybe he would have arranged to have Bhelen killed? Does that make sense? No?

If King Endrin knew that Bhelen was going to eliminate both Trian and the DN, do you think maybe he would have arranged to have Bhelen killed? Does that make sense? No?

I think he would have put Bhelen to trial, like the DN. But if he'd get caught doing it he brought it on himself.

Yeah, Rica is really, really mean when you don't side with Bhelen. Honestly 'I should have let mother sell you'? Harsh. Do you not get a chance to tell her you're making Harrowmont take care of her and King Endrin's grandson? And no, you didn't post the DC-Harrowmont conversation/s.

I doubt it. He didn't kill Trian and try to have the DN killed for the lulz; they were standing in the way of him becoming King. Should he get bord of Rica he'll just stop sleeping with her and she'll remain with the House to take care of their son.

Bhelen seems to have already taken the 'what if Endrin Jr. is like Trian' scenario into consideration as he isn't planning on naming him heir just yet (which you find out if you ask him about it as a DC). He'll most likely pick one when they're older and he can judge who would make the best leader.

Also DN's don't have tattoo's!

Storywise he could have gotten it after he was exiled but it has to be on the face durin the Origin story because there's no option to get a tattoo during the story (that I know of and without mods).

See I reckon dwarf facial tatts that aren't brands or mean something like the legion are there as like sargeant stripes in the army/noble caste. I swear I am not pulling this out of my ass I read this somewhere, will go poke the codexes.

My Missa Brosca has one over her eye as she's covered in tattoos, anyway.

The problem is, though, that we don't see any other nobles having tattoos so if it was done prior to beig exiled it might make no sense for it to be there unless the DN was looking to cause a scandal.

Just for the record, there is no DC specific dialogue when you first approach Dulin to work for Harrowmont. There's "dwarf noble" and "everybody else."

Talk to Harrowmont however you want until he gets to the part where he needs the DC to go after Jarvia.

Harrowmont: "If you want my support to count, I will have to be king, and right now, there is no sure way to get there." (VO: pointed)
Harrowmont: "Have you heard of a woman named Jarvia and the criminal carta she runs?"
DC: "You could say we... have some history."
Harrowmont: "You would know better than I would the many ways the casteless hide from authorities in Dust Town." (VO: Respectful)
Harrowmont: "I hoped you might still have old contacts who could help dig out Jarvia."  (VO: Hopeful)
DC: "My sister is Bhelen's concubine. If you become king..."
Harrowmont: "Your sister... I see. This is new to me." (VO: Surprised, trying to approach this situation with delicacy as not to offend anyone.)
Harrowmont: "What happens to her is more House Aeducan's concern than my own, but I promise no harm will come to her by my doing." (VO: Cautiously, not promising anything he can't deliver)
(Accept the quest or think about it.)


And that's actually it. I can't find any commoner-specific dialogue for when he asks you to go after Branka and there's nothing new when he's crowned king. There's no option to follow through and ask if he's still going to look after Rica.

Well then, a question.

Would Bhelen be erased from the records for his disgraceful behavior in the assembly, and would that affect his offspring basically making both of them casteless again? Harrowmont couldn't take in a casteless according to tradition, and he is traditional.

Edit: Both of them being Rica and Endrin Jr.

Just finished my Dwarf Noble Awakening run enjoyed the extra bit they added to the ending



In Origins getting House Aeducan's Shield helped me greatly from Gorim, and Harrowmont's dialogue is interesting, yet to play Commoner

Mine also has tattoos. I just rp'd it as it being a special, very ostentatious tattoo for "kinslayers". I really like the guy in Kal-Hirol-- the one sigrun knows-- tattoos.
