I do feel bad for him too but my noble could never see him use the Anvil to its full potential. It is bad enough when he tells the PC that he will put the issue on whether to send aid for the Blight to the floor of the assembly, how long would it take for the Anvil to get to work cranking out golems if Harrowmont was King my noble thought.

My DN didn't trust Bhelen not to start doing exactly what the last King to have the Anvil did and feed it all his political opponents and just people on the street so that wasn't an issue. Plus, Branka's too crazy to be trusted.

Oh, Branka is insane no doubt, I reloaded to see more of the dialogue options and she jumped into the lava after destroying the anvil. My character could care less about the castless and political opponents of Bhelen; Orzammar needs its power back and the Anvil would help rebuild the empire in my character's mind.

However, that may be the last time I side with her for awhile for a variety of reasons.

Too bad we couldn't talk Caridin around. He may have wanted the Anvil destroyed but at least he had good reason for it and as long as it was strictly volunteers then he shouldn't have had that much of a problem with it.

I think living for centuries as a Golem hearing the "souls" from the Anvil every day that he created would drive most people to destroy the anvil asap.

Well we'd only need him until we could find someone talented and less crazy to operate it.

Good luck on that; based on previous epilogue sides where other smiths tried to make a golem which went berzerk and killed people, it would take a brilliant mind to operate it. Too bad that brilliant mind is also heartless and should be placed in a straight-jacket.

That's because they used a Fade Spirit instead of a person. And surely Caridin himself could teach someone how to do it without the craziness.

You know, I still can't get over finally learning the reason you can't walk through the commons by yourself in the Origin is because Endrin is afraid you'll talk to lower castes. Which, since the game just started, I totally would...

Well, it has been awhile since I saw that card in the Epilogue since I regretfully did a US on my last character so I did not recall them using the fade spirit which is like opening Pandora's Box. I thought they were not skilled enough at the process at making a golem.

I thought you needed a guard to avoid the merchants who were told to go home during your Commission. For talking to the lower castes?

They managed to convince the Shaper to let them do it, they just were stupid and used a Fade Spirit. What did they think was going to happen? It probably just possessed the golem.

And I found this last night:

Gorim: The king decided you are not ot travel through the commons unguarded. (VO: a little embarrassed -- this isn't the decision he would have made, but he can't argue with it)
PC: What? Why?
Gorim: I did mention the merchants that won permits to show their goods in the Diamond Quarter? (VO: delicate, he doesn't want to say "the king doesn't trust you not to fraternize with dirty merchants") There were only so many permits auctioned off, and quite a few were turned away (VO: delicate) Your father fears you will be harassed on the way to the Proving. (VO: delicate -- he doesn't want to come across as telling the player what to do)

It is because of the merchants but apparently you're deemed a risk of actually talking to them. Trian, of course, isn't so he and Bhelen are allowed to go by themselves.

What are they going to do, rob you? I guess if the merchants are mad at anyone, it would be you since it is your day which allows their rivals to make a bigger profit.

No, you were going to talk to them! The scandal!

I know! No wonder Wojech doesn't take you seriously when you come back. Your father makes servants scrub the floors of the commons so you can walk by, won't let you go alone the day before your first commission, and hands you the biggest find since Kal-Sharok on a silver platter.

But if you'll notice how nervous all the merchants you talk to are and the magic one even faints. Clearly this isn't something that happens often.

You know, that actually makes me dislike Endrin even more since he does all that and treats you like a baby; when a "bump" on the road occurs, then he goes "tough love" on you.

Trian had to have a commission only a few years back though probably not as grand as yours since you are the "favorite".

I do like him especially since that makes him leaving you to die all the worse. Seriously, Trian probably got a standard commission and no one seemed to find it at all odd that he gave you the opportunity to find a shield he knew was out there for years. If that's how blatant the favoritism was, no wonder your siblings can't stand you no matter what you yourself are like. I do wonder why he likes you best, though. For a DNF it could be partially because you're the only girl (that's why my dad likes me better than my brothersPosted Image) but what about for the DNM?

Well, what gets me is he does so quickly without giving you a fair chance of proving yourself innocent; he takes the word of that rat Frandlin. Then of course his oldest son is lying in a pool of blood so I have no idea what is going on in his head.

As a middle child myself, I do somewhat understand the rivalry system a bit. However, I felt I was treated more like Trian or Bhelen than the DN. The oldest seems to be the "favorite".

I'm the oldest and that's certainly how it worked out. By the time my littlest brother came along (he's nine years younger than me) my parents just seemed to lose interest. I was so much more innocent at his age then he is now since they always made sure to coddle me.

What gets to me is if you side with Bhelen and fight in the Proving anyway you meet that guy from House Vollney who was also accused of killing his brother about a decade ago. You know what he did? He won a Proving and was declared innocent.

What

The

Hell?

I think my little brother is being treated  better than I was though he is 6 yrs younger. He is much happier by a longshot than I was at his age. I think being a year and half younger than my sister who is a genius kind of soured my future. She was the dominant one for a long time.

Are you talking about the fighter next to Wojech Ivo? Because if someone from the same house as Bruntin can get away with it, how the **** does the DN not the same opportunity? Rotten nobles.

I was...but ya know, I just couldn't do it. My duster will. But on a noble? nope, can't do it. At least so far. I've planned to both darned times.

Scapegoat- nope, couldn't do it
Self Defense- Nope, still couldn't do it.

Maybe if I ever do it again as full out kin slayer.

As it was, the temptation to lead Bhelen on then rip it all out from under him and watch him self destruct in the middle of the assembly won.
