So she just basically realizes that there are guys out there that don't fail? And possibly that dwarves do it better?Cuddlezarro wrote...

I think the problem for me is the main plot's politics (Loghain, Eamon, Anora, Alistair, Landsmeet, blah blah) is human-centric and it's hard to feel as involved with a non-human. YMMV.
(This is why I wish there was a human commoner origin).

I think Duncan was almost more impressed that she had the nerve to enter as a casteless than in the fact that she won.

I'm actually relieved to not be a human because I can just take a step back from that whole trainwreck and not be as emotionally invested in it. When I finally tried out the human noble origin, I was blown away by how narcisstic it all felt. Like the Blight was a mere inconvenience and it was really all about revenge and clawing one's way up to the throne.CalJones wrote...
I've finally got around to doing a full DC runthrough now. I completed a DN runthrough a few weeks back, and whilst I didn't connect to that character as much as I did to my humans, the Orzammar stuff was more fun.

I was *thiissss* close to making the Veneshal take over the nobililty stuff for me in Awakening. I just couldn't care about the affairs of humans. LOL.

Hey, where in Orzammar do you run into Mardy again?

I know she's there in the beginning but she ambushes you in the Diamond Quarter with news about your son, too?
yeah, I vaguuuuuuuuuely recall being pounced on by someone there when I returned to Orzammar and trying to work out who they are. If you the male DN I think she's there to tell you about Mardy's pregnancy. On your DN it's more "oh, you. Returned have you? What fun!"

Excellent. This is vital information I had to have for the sake of a game and not in any way because I'm in the middle of writing a fanfic.CalJones wrote...
