I played my first Dwarf and eventually got past the arms. I didn't think they were ugly, I thought the designers got lazy on a great race and it ticked me off. By the time I made my Brosca and saw her in leather I wanted to smack someone in the head.



Then TMP came along and did what they should have done in the first danged place.

Well, he only has three scenes and for one of the scenes he's mostly giving a political speech. It's just strange how he's in it so little and yet...issues!

The mother isn't mentioned at all aside from Lady Helmi saying she'd be proud of you or would 'melt the Stone' if you agreed to Lord Dace's request so I take it they were friends.

For my own RP purposes I've decided her name is Darina formerly of House Lynchcar and she looked like this before her death:


The generator I use is here but you really can just google 'dwarven name generator.'

We don't know that the DN mother was a warrior or not but we do know that she wouldn't have been an Aeducan by birth and so she wouldn't have had Aeducan armor but you'd think that would mean that the grandmother wasn't an Aeducan by birth either...maybe something happened to her armor if she were a warrior? I do think it's a nice touch that if you're a DNM you get your great-grandfather's armor as preseumably Trian got the grandfather's armor.

They get the great-grandfather's which I always attributed to them being the middle boy and Trian got traditional armor first.

You're probably going to side with the elves too. They do have dwarves though.

Well, you did get him exiled, so at least he made the best of it. Though I admit, what he did still sucked. Still, since I'm a guy and, thus, a DN male, this doen't apply to me at all. We're still the best of buddies

Not really. Going Order all the bloody way! I wouldn't be a pragmatic bastard if I didn't side with the order now would I?



Siegfried is a nice guy, for all his faults. He does truly believes and stands for protecting the innocents. He will make a good Grandmaster for the Order I think.



The Scoia'Tel remind me of the Dalish....there was a reason I hated elves in Dragon Age the moment I learned their history, now I remember why.

And have I mentioned how much I love your story? It's very unpredictable which is a rarity in this fandom.

If you want the rules that I generally follow:

Common Ferelden names are generally either Celtic or Irish with a smattering of Old English names thown in. I'm rather fond of using this site for those purposes.

Elven names are tougher. The general rule of thumb is to avoid using harsh-sounding consonants and go more towards l's and th's. Some male names would be Arinel, Valendrian, Ferren. Some female names would be Anathe, Vaealla, Serenia.

Dwarven names are the opposite. Definitely go to the harsh-sounding consonants, with the names often sounding a bit Germanic or Nordic. Some male names would be Kurth, Vegar, Nordreg. Some female names would be Utha, Ghemma, Jantell. Most dwarves would identify themselves by their name and then 'of House Name'.

Yeah, Behind The Name is pretty much my go-to for human names, and more often than not dwarven names (usually the random generator with German, Scandinavian and Norse myth boxes ticked.
