Finally finished Vera Brosca -- she definitely ranks right up there on my favorite playthroughs!
- DW warrior.
- Brute with no social skills.
- Crowned Bhelen.
- Sided with Zatharan. A deal is a deal (werewolves did not offer to help with Blight) so she brought back the heart so she could get her elven soldiers.
- Sacrificed Isolde since she was making a situation go from bad to worse and wasting lives that could be used for the army.
- Sided with Circle since she wanted to see what was going on upstairs first and game treated that as siding with mages. Cullen's mouthing off to Oghren didn't help his credibility.
- Romance choice was Zevran since he got on so well with the dwarves in the party. Easy person to be with.
- Suspicious of Anora. Wanted to verify Anora's info at the Alienage first before she'd talk with her. Reported to Eamon and then went to talk to Anora, but ship had sailed. There was no deal offered by Anora. She ended up betraying them at Landsmeet.
- Loghain called for their executions and Anora was not a good ally. Finished off Loghain and put Alistair on throne. (FYI: I usually spare Loghain so I don't want to hear any BS about killing Loghain for revenge, whatever. This game just played out differently.)
- Agreed to dark ritual because 1) Alistair WOULD take the final blow and then Anora would be back on the throne, which was a bad idea and 2) Morrigan was right that Zevran would want her to do the ritual to save her own life. Hard to argue with her logic this time. Alistair agrees to dark ritual, too.
- Asks for the dwarven boon, but stays in Denerim to help out Alistair because he specifically asked her to stay since she put him on the throne in the first place. Since he did do the ritual for her, no skin off her back to return the favor. He was her best mate.
Here is a list of all my failed persuade checks in the game on this character. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. If I was a shield warrior, I'd have been annoyed at not getting the Legion of Dead shield off Ruck.
Miscellaneous- Failed to persuade Reverend Mother in releasing Sten. Threatened to conscript him. Failed THAT check since she wouldn't be caught helping Grey Wardens. Leliana finally stepped in.
- Failed to persuade Alistair in recruiting Zevran. Got a funny line about a kick to the head.
- Failed to intimidate Loghain's messenger so had to fight him off the Orzammar's front steps.
Paragon of Her Kind- Failed to intimidate thug leader. Said Jarvia would kill him if he told me where she was so he went down swinging.
- Failed to persuade/calm Ruck so he went down fighting. Oh, well, no Legion of Dead shield.
- Failed to persuade Zevran in destroying the anvil. Got the "hard as a rock" line.
Circle- Failed to persuade Carrol to take me across the lake. His superior won't know if I never get to see him to complain, right? Had to intimidate him to get across.
- Failed to get Oghren to defend himself against the hecklers in the Fade. Left me to fight them myself while he drowned his sorrows.
Warden's Keep- Failed to lie/persuade Sophia for her to seal the rift first (she could smell the lie on me), failed to persuade her to go first anyway, and failed to persuade Sophia to sweeten the deal (i.e. no stash of gold in the end). Made it easier to just side with Avernus instead.
- Failed to persuade Avernus to see the height of his crimes (not that I cared, just wanted to see what he would say) and he scoffed at me as a moral judge.
Brecilian Forest- Failed to persuade Mithra to take me to the Dalish leader. Had to state my business or turn around. Told her I was a warden and she ask how she'd know I was telling the truth. Failed to persuade her to take my word on it ("I don't trust you"), but she took me to Zath to let him decide what to do with me.
- Failed to lie to Lanaya that Zath said I could have whatever was in the chest. She called me on my BS.
- I was able to persuade Cammen to tell me what his problem was. GAAWWWWD. *facepalm*
- HOWEVER I did fail to persuade Cammen to show him "what he was missing." Phew.
- Failed to persuade Gheyna that it didn't matter what Cammen was as long as she loved him. She wasn't about to listen to an outsider.
- Failed to persuade Athras to tell me about his problems, but Zevran stepped in and changed his mind. That was unexpected.
- Failed to convince Swiftrunner I just wanted to talk.
- Failed to persuade Danyla to answer my questions. She couldn't "betray her" (lady of forest) so she just begged to die instead.
- Failed to persuade werewolves to attack elves.
Random Travels- Successfully persuaded guy to let me deliver the message for "careless accusations" quest. (21 cunning)
Redcliffe- Failed to persuade Bann Teagan in telling me more about himself. No flirtation to be had, alas. =(
- Failed to persuade and intimidate Dwyn in helping to defend the village. Had enough of me acting like I owned the place so he attacked.
- Failed to intimidate Owen in opening the door. "My axe in here says you won't. Just you try it, looter!" Had to kick it in.
- Failed to persuade Bevin to tell me why he was hiding in the closet. He ran off.
- Failed to persuade Berwick to tell me why he was in Redcliffe. He was about to head to the Chantry until I passed the follow-up intimidate check.
- Failed to intimidate Lloyd into defending the village. He gave me 80 silver to leave him alone, which I took. I still demanded he defend the village and he caved in. Also failed to get part ownership of the inn.
- Failed to persuade the Reverend Mother in blessing the amulets. (Intimidate will have her throwing me out and refusing to talk again.)
- Failed to persuade Alistair that I tried my best after having Lady Isolde killed. Lost 21 approval. (Did not antagonize him -- reacted to him as I would if he was my buddy Leske.)
Denerim- Failed to persuade Isabela for a private tutoring session (she wasn't in the mood) so did the card game instead.
- Failed to get the madam to lower her prices so have to pay 40 silvers for services.
- Failed to persuade (lie) Ser Landry I wasn't a Grey Warden. Had to duel him behind Gnawed Noble.
- Failed to persuade the White Falcons to disperse from the Pearl. Fight ensued until they cried uncle. Made the leader empty his pockets before releasing them.
- Failed all cunning/persuade checks with Weylon about Brother Genitivi.
- Failed to persuade Paedan that Loghain framed the Wardens. Got mocked.
Honnoleath- Failed to lie to demon.
- Failed to persuade Alistair in taking Shale with group.
Shale- Failed to lie about Cairdin. (I sided with him so all I lost was approval, really.)
Fort Drakon- Failed to persuade Vaughn to give me key first. (Didn't need it anyway.)
Alienage- Failed to bribe the elf guard with 6 gold to let me in the back entrance. He asked for 12g or no deal.
- Failed to persuade Devera to take me directly to Calderus (slave trader).
Landsmeet- Failed to persuade Ser Caulthren to see what Loghain has become. (Pretty sure it's auto-fail if you expose Anora in rescue anyway.)
- Failed to persuade Landsmeet that Blight was a threat. One noble was dubious (lost his vote).
- Failed to persuade Anora and Alistair to marry (did not arrange ahead of time). They both looked at me like I was joking.
Dark Ritual- Failed two persuade checks in a row with Alistair, but he still agreed to do the ritual!
Archdemon - Denerim- Failed to persuade Shianni and companion to stay and defend their homes. ("Easy for you to say, dwarf!")
