1. Damned Sweeds! They'll be the death of us all! Mark my words!

IKEA is only the first step. Mark my words.

<--Is shamelessly addicted to IKEA.

Hey, if the Sweeds keep making awesome furniture, then I support Sweden -waves Swedish flag-

What's wrong with the word slash? I started using that once enough people were like 'What are you talking about?' when I called it yaoi/yuri.

I literally have thoughts on yaoi/slash if people are genuinely interested, I got severe issues with it. Not sure if this is the place though? IDK.

I'll make this quick so it doesn't read like Soignee's Thesis Of Fandom And Feminism, but my issues are thusly, this. Slash (especially yaoi) is written by predominately women for (mostly) women. I find that it:

1) makes a fetish of gay culture.
2) Silences the female voice in the sense that it is written out.

Or makes the female LI an insane, vapid, jealous, controlling, stalker, homophobic ****. I think I remember you saying something about that awhile back. That's only the bad slash, though. Admittedly, there is a lot of it.

Dragon Age is different as you make the hero and set the tone of the story, but you can still "write out" the female voice.

I've got a personal pet theory (personal anecdata and fandom observations, nothing more) that women who write M/M slash want nothing to do with the hetero-norm of what society expects of them and views yaoi/slash as a way of writing romantic/kink/etc story without icky gender issues popping up.

Gender issues pop up a LOT in slash fiction, particularly things like being confused/horrified when they realize they're attracted to members of the same sex, fear of everyone's reactions, homophobia from other characters or the community at large...I'm not sure I'd agree that gender issues can be avoided with an 'easy' slash pairing.

I personally have no idea what they are talking about. Though I rarely read any slash fiction, or other purely sexual fiction, unless it is for laugh value.

What you're talking about is sexuality issues and not gender. Sure there's going to be power struggles within the couple of choice but they're both dudes/girls and gender doesn't come into it.

Gender issues are a different kettle of fish. When you write about a a male/female relationship, it comes with a weight of what a woman should be/is/etc, even if she's Jane Shepard/Hero of Ferelden/Wonder Woman.

I'm too tired to talk gender/sexuality/feminism 101 anyway, can we make Mike Hawke jokes some more?

So, I decided to spare Loghain and add him to my collection of misfits. Any tips on his dialogue so I can gain maximum approval? I have a ton of worthless gifts at my disposal in case his dialogue does not grant enough approval.

This has never happened to Mike Hawke before. Take it as a compliment, he just likes you that much.

Edit: I'll stop at that though.

Ask him what he wants, joke with him about how you just can't seem to manage to kill him, don't tell him the Joining is a death sentence...he's pretty easy, really. And he Posted Image maps.

When you speak to him, choose these options.

I do not think you are a monster, You are a Grey Warden too you know, What do you want. I am glad to have you. ( about 40 approval ).

Then speak with him about Anora and say when the option comes up; "Well no one knows her as well as you do."
