So I don't think Halbech was small. And as for its diminishing business, well the reason this happened implies the same fate to all other weapon manufacturers. Or at the very least, it's possible. Which would still make Halbech one of the biggest weapons manufacturer, even if diminished.

Well, the thing is they aren't really ever said to be "one of biggest" -- their backstory is they were engineering company at the beginning of century, scored government contracts to build airstrips and such, made money on that and moved focus to weapon production. But their actual scale is never mentioned and ironically enough i don't think you ever get to buy a single item with their name on it -- such lack of market presence is definitely not something you'd expect from supposed giant. Perhaps they specialize in missiles and such, but even that it's pretty crowded market.

Just for the heck of it: Top 100 arms-producing companies for 2008. And that's missing Chinese and Russian producers http://www.sipri.org...ion/Top100/data Posted Image

The Leliana thread is currently hating on dwarven males... Posted Image

Such nonsense, dwarven males are strong and handsome men. Okay, I admit that my avatar is a exception to the rule.

And Leliana is an excellent partner for them. For motorboating purposes.

Apparently posting a dwarf/Leliana pic after the thread had been dead for 15 hours counts as 'baiting' them. Posted Image

Hey I love Dwarves, I have two completed nobles and a commenor run.

Two of them also romanced Leliana, my first noble was to busy plotting his return to power and getting Gorim back on board.

So what if people hate dwarves.

Actually, it is only a person I see in the Leliana thread that hates the male dwarves appearance.

They look like little body builders to me, seriously though they look like they hurl bolders all day as a game.

When you are chopping darkspawn to bits with huge axes, you tend to get a good workout.

My DNF turned out a lot like that. Her thought process was along the lines of 'The Surface is so weird, I want to go home. Yeah, nice plant, Alistair. I miss Gorim. Too bad he got married. Posted Image Yeah, my hair's about as practical as it can be since it's long, Leliana. I'm really not sure who to put on the throne and, by the Stone, all things considered this should not be a difficult decision! Wait, I have a nephew who's now going to grow up fatherless because of me? Damn it, Bhelen, why didn't you freaking tell me?!?! Wow, that's dirty poetry, Zevran. Success! I'm going home!' Posted Image

And she was the only one there at the time. Plus she brought out 'Kill it with fire.'

Something like this perhaps?

A perfect match. We can always count on Aimo for drawing great dwarf stuff.

I do not think a little bit of fire would scare dwarves when they live near the lava.

Crap, I keep on messing up on my grammar :pinched:

Thorin was a big noble and a bit of a jackass though, fun PT saved the anvil, recruited Loghain for the first time and put Bhelen on the throne..oopsies.

My second noble Darius was awsome dual-wielding axe maniac who hated DS but like the surface. He actaully respected Bhelen for pulling it off, and didnt miss his home that much. I liked playing him more than Thorin though.

DAO have a annoying lack of dwarven love interests. A real shame that Leske and Sigrun wasn't availiable.

I think that it's easier in general to start a romance if your RP a character that wasn't particularly fond of life in Orzammar (even if they only realized this looking back) or who fell in love with the Surface. I mean, it's doable even if you fully plan to return to Orzammar but it's definitely harder with a human/elf in tow. After all, they'd freak out and try to kill your lover if they're at the top of the next caste down like Gorim so I can't imagine a non-dwarf would go over well. Again, it can be done but they'd have a far easier relationship if they can just stay on the Surface.

My noble checked into make sure everything was all right and then popped over into Orlasis to check out Caramel pudding and why it was so great. While my Commenor said that his sister would run the house and then he promptly went back to the Wardens.

True. And also a elf or human grey warden should have the choice to get a a dwarf sweetheart.

Is it just me or do a lot of the more innocent Lady Aeducans you hear about (particularly from fanfiction) seem reminiscent of The Duchess of Malfi with Bhelen as the Cardinal, Trian as Ferdinand, and her as the Duchess with potentionally Gorim as Antonio?

I had no problem with my dwarf romancing Leliana, even though he pretty much lacked any morals. He had the attitude that he gets what he wants, anything that stands in his way got smashed to bits.

Since he put his brother on the throne with a trophy of his "latest" kill, he expects a warm reception back home. To top it off, he gets to be a Paragon. When Branka suddenly decides to stop cranking out the Golems because of a disagreement between her and Bhelen, he is going to give her a surprise visit...

Well if you do Dagna's quest she ends up bringing mages to Orzamar so I think that Bhelen would use them if they were there. Besides isint totalling the Anvil better for the Dwarves than keeping it?

Only if you don't found a Chantry because then the apostates take one look at the place the Chantry are freaking out about and threatening an Exalted March, realize if they go there there probably will be one, and find somewhere else.

In my epilogue, it stated Bhelen still became a "benevolent dictator" with Anora's troops helping reclaim a few lost thaigs in battles against the dark spawn with Branka shutting down the Anvil. I kept it for RP reasons, not for the best epilogue. A revival of a Golem horde with help morale amongst the dwarves in my character's mind, after he takes over the Anvil himself (in AU of course).

I helped Dagna  but told Brother Burkel to go away, so the Chantry should not be too angry at the dwarves.

I have no idea to be honest if it is given to Bhelen, but destroy it if you go with Harrowmont unless you love total chaos. I however favor destroying the Anvil.

Well in my evil Mage PT I:

Left Redcliffe to burn, sacrifced Isolde and sold Conner to the devil for the BM specilization.

Killed all the mages, and Wynne.

Let the werewolves munch the elves

Kept the Anvil and put Bhelen on the throne

Put an unhardened alistair on the throne solo

Took the DR, spared Flemeth

and pretty much did the most evil outcome everywhere including in the Alienage.

Had to do three nicer PT to wash the ick off me though, I dont want to see what that world will look like in DA2.

That's not evil. Putting Harrowmont on the throne and keeping the Anvil is evil.
