This is why I always save the gauntlet until after Leske. It's so sad when you meet him after you've killed him, and it gives Brosca some closure.
My first playthrough I tried SO hard to keep Leske as the last one alive...just in case. However, I also kept Andraste's tears because I thought they might save me when I brought all the religious characters with me to fight the Archdaemon while making sure I was the one that took the final blow....
It would be a great surprise and an extra challenge if the game did reward you for doing things like keeping Leske alive until last.
