Surprise, Alistair!!
I still say it's what he really wants. He just doesn't know it yet.

Yes I have, since the vast majority of Fanfictions are about human nobles or Alistair things ( I won't insult a proper writter by calling Alistair stuff actual writting ).*raises eyebrows* I see you've read it. You can ignore the sweaty bits, it's ok.

However you have done something I didn't expect. You made Alistair even MORE annoying then he already was for me!
Now about the anvil. Well if you believe in second chances then perhaps the best way to do it is to side with Branka then have her destroy the anvil, or simply just give her the anvil so she can make some sweet golems.
Many dwarves were presses to be made golems by a mad king. I can see Bhelen only sending his political enemies truth be told. and hey the less dwarf nobles sitting on their asses and actually doing some fighting the better!
I wonder your char will react to Alistair if you spare Loghain, will she simply become so enraged as to kill him herself right there?

I'm glad there's no game option to do that. If you feel that Alistair refusing to be a Warden anymore if Loghain is spared means that he deserves to die (which I don't) then just let Anora have him killed to avoid later rebellions. Dong it yourself right in front of the Landsmeet is NOT justified and the fact that Riordan doesn't say anything about the Warden not tolerating people leaving and what he says when you ask if Loghain would even be loyal imply that they feel he's still a Warden and are okay with him just ending up in Orzammar at the end (and Jory's death was more because he knew too much and Alistair isn't really at risk to share things. Quite the opposite, in face...). If you kill him as a knee-jerk reaction to Alistair's knee-jerk reaction to Loghain joining the Wardens then you're a hypocrite and killing him outright in front of everyone at the Landsmeet just convinces everyone you're dangerously violent, possibly unstable, and have no impulse control. None of the non-Wardens will ever understand your 'you can never leave the Wardens' mentality and trying to explain it won't endear the GWs to them. They'll just see you killing the candidate for King and worry that you don't have a problem murdering important people for disagreeing with you. Seriously, there would be all sorts of negative consequences and your PR would suffer immensely. If he must die, for whatever reason, let Anora do it. From her it's a show of strength and a practical move.Costin_Razvan wrote...

I haven't been able to bring myself to not destroy it once (although whether I side with Branka or Caridin depends on the playthrough) because Branka feels feeding her entire House including her love to darkspawn is a rational decision and she'll be in charge of operating it, Harrowmont can't be counted on to be strong enough to stop her, and Bhelen is kind of evil. I'm not against the idea of the Anvil on a strictly volunteer basis but I sure as hell don't trust these people not to misuse it.soignee wrote...

What you going to do with the anvil Missa?
I'm leaning towards destroying it, as it makes some delicious casteless angst, especially when you discover what they did to make golems.
Never said I didn't like what you did to him. Ahem. my fanfiction has well....dying from a searing sword impaled in his heart.I'm trying to toughen him up! Honest! Missa likes him really, in a kid brother *hair ruffle* way. I actually like Alistair, he's meant to grow up in the story. Will endevour to make him less whiney in the next chapter, then.

But don't you know that being his (human) queen and marrying him and living happily ever after with apparently no repurcussions for your decisions is the only RIGHT ending this game has? Ever?

I don't even know why they give you the option to play as a male, dwarf, elf, or mage, really. Maybe just so the stupid parts of the game that DON'T revolve around vengeance on Howe and putting Alistair on the throne feel more bearable. And isn't it a shame Alistair's big romantic proposal right after you name him King was cut at the last minute because the writers knew that Alistair's proposal was something too epic and romantic for them to try to capture?soignee wrote...

ALL threads will descend into an Alistair or a Zevran thread at some point if it goes on long enough. This is a DWARF thread, not some bloody stupid white knight Alistair romance thread.

If I play a human noble, obviously they're going to end up on the throne. Everyone else puts hardened Alistair and Anora on the throne because no one felt like coddling him after Goldanna rejected him and Eamon agrees it's the strongest argument to put forth at the Landsmeet (not that he actually wants to go through with it of course). Whether Loghain lives or not is really the biggest variation between characters as far as the Landsmeet goes.
I think it helped that it was my first playthrough so I didn't realize how awesome the other (read: dwarf) origins were yet and I hadn't gotten into the fandom to see how overdone the HN is. Of course, since I didn't know how to do otherwise, Alistair was unhardened so he was basically just there to look pretty while the Warden was off running the country...is it any wonder I love the DN origin so much?soignee wrote...

I've probably started about 5 dwarves or so but have scrapped every single one of them. I just can't seem to play them through to the end.
Now, if they actually had more story outside of the origin and you could have a complete party of dwarves...I may have been able to do it. I don't consider Shale to be one of the stout folk.
I LOVED the origin stories for them though. Unfortunately they are incredibly short.

You can still make everything all about you to a comparable extent with the Alistair-love/HN Landsmeet situation if you want to and everyone else acts like there's nothing strange about it.Herr Uhl wrote...

It is a shame that the return to Orzammar isn't as fun as the origin.
