OK, I caved in and downloaded the toolkit. I still need to figure it out, but I did find some fun stuff to share.

King Endrin
Age: 50
Cultural background: King of Orzammar
Description: Wise and stern (and eventually, dead) king of Orzammar
Purpose: To be sick and die, creating a power vacuum in Orzammar
Appearance: Old, wise, powerful king of the greatest existing dwarven kingdom
Archetype: Wise father
Intelligence: Average
Occupation: King
Relationship to player: Dwarf noble's father
Ties to other characters: Father of Bhelen and Trian Aeducan, king/former king of Orzammar

Trian
Age: 25
Cultural background: Orzammar Prince
Description: cocky and mean crown prince of Orzammar
Purpose: To die so the player can be blamed
Appearance: Mean young man of a dwarf, a strong warrior
Archetype: Wicked older brother
Intelligence: Average
Occupation: Crown prince
Relationship to player: Older brother
Ties to other characters: Brother to Bhelen, son of King Endrin

Bhelen
Age: 21
Cultural background: Dwarven prince
Description: The scheming younger son of King Endrin of Orzammar, Bhelen is a darkly charismatic, manipulative would-be-dictator. Bhelen can seem nice to the point of obsequious when you first talk to him, then switch to murderous in an instant. He plotted to kill his own older brother, and frame his other brother for the crime, and is now furious that his father has turned against him and refused to name him the next king of Orzammar. He will do anything to gain the throne, and once there, intends to rule with an iron fist. On the other hand, he is more modern and more accepting of the lower castes than most dwarven nobles.
Purpose: Candidate for king in "A Paragon of Her Kind." Nemesis to the Dwarf Noble PC. Potential enemy or ally for PC.
Speech patterns: Oily, smooth. Switches from sucking up the threatening in a heartbeat.
Demeanor: Variable -- goes from smarmy ally to deadly enemy in an instant.
Flaws: Narcissitic; overconfident; lacks compassion; overwhelming ambition
Morals: No thank you.
Personal background: Grew up as the youngest and least favorite child of King Endrin. Always watched other nobles get ahead by scheming and back-stabbing. Plotted to kill his brothers and clear the path to the throne for himself. Was hurt and angry when his father chose Harrowmont as a successor instead. Is determined to win the throne at all costs.
Skills: None.
Appearance: Young, well-groomed, good-looking dwarf.
Archetype: Charismatic dictator.
Intelligence: High.
Occupation: Prince of Orzammar.
Relationship to player: Brother of Dwarf Noble PC. Brother-in-law of Dwarf Commoner PC.  Possible ally or enemy; major quest-giver in "A Paragon of Her Kind."
Ties to other characters: Son of King Endrin of Orzammar. Brother of Prince Trian of Orzammar. Enemy of Lord Harrowmont of Orzammar. Mentor and boss of Vartag Gavorn. Patron to Rica (his concubine).

Harrowmont
Age: 60
Cutural background: Traditional dwarf noble
Description: The "good guy" candidate for king of Orzammar in "A Paragon of Her Kind." A genteel, traditional, older dwarf -- he's been an Assembly member most of his life and is a skilled politician, but more of a compromiser than a strong or charismatic leader.
Purpose: Candidate for king in "A Paragon of Her Kind;" major plot-giver; ally for PC
Speech patterns: Dignified, formal, slightly stilted.
Demeanor: A regal, but slightly tired older dwarf.
Flaws: Cautious, a born compromiser, not very charismatic.
Morals: Traditional Orzammar -- serves his clan, his caste and his city. Looks down on lower castes.
Personal background: Born of a lesser noble house. Harrowmont Was friend and right-hand-man to king of Orzammar for many years. Surprised in his dotage by being named the king's heir. Harrowmont is a traditionalist and truly believes that Orzammar will be stronger if it sticks to the old ways.
Appearance: Greying, well-groomed, dignified.
Archetype: Elder statesman.
Occupation: Orzammar Assembly member (congressman)
Relationship to player: Potential ally or enemy; old friend of the Dwarf Noble PC
Ties to other characters: Friend and heir to King Endrin of Orzammar. Sworn enemy of Prince Bhelen of Orzammar. Cousin of Baizyl Harrowmont. Husband of Tercy Harrowmont. Boss and mentor to Dulin Forender.

Gorim
Age: 18
Cultural background: Orzammar Warrior, second to a noble

Purpose: To accompany the player through the origin story and act as a tutorial henchman
Appearance: Well-groomed and strong young dwarf warrior
Archetype: Loyal friend
Occupation: "Second" to the dwarf noble player
Relationship to player: "Second"

Rica
Age: 22
Cultural background: Casteless dwarf
Description: Kind, idealistic sister of the dwarf commoner PC. She loves the PC and wants to make a better life for him. Is willing to prostitute herself to do so, but still hopes to find love... which she does with Bhelen. Devoted to Bhelen once she's his concubine, and deleriously happy about her newborn son.
Purpose: Mentor, sister and reunion character for dwarf commoner PC.
Speech patterns: Very sincere and emphatic.
Demeanor: Radiates kindness and sincerity. Hard to say no to.
Flaws: Idealistic, trusting.
Morals: High, but she buys completely in to her lover Bhelen's accounts of himself and refuses to believe he's the evil snake he is.
Personal background: Grew up casteless, then became a noble-hunter (a geisha-like prostitute). At the end of the Dwarf Commoner Origin Story, becomes Bhelen's concubine. In "A Paragon of Her Kind," she is a devoted member of Bhelen's family and will do anything to get the PC to side with him.
Special skills: Nothing we can show in a non-AO game.
Appearance: Young, sweet, pretty. The dwarf next door.

Demeanor: In-your-face young tough.
Flaws: Weak-willed; betrays the PC
Morals: Few and far-between
Personal background: Grew up casteless, never had much hope of rising. Became an enforcer for Beraht, then killed him along with the PC. Was left alone in Orzammar where he sucked up to Beraht's replacement and finally got in her good graces by betraying the PC.
Special skills: Skilled rogue
Appearance: Cute but dirty young punk; a dwarven James Dean.
Archetype: The Artful Dodger
Occupation: Mob enforcer
Relationship to player: Best friend in Dwarf Commoner origin story; betrays in A Paragon of Her Kind.

OK that's fascinating, and makes the Brosca character a lot younger then I thought. 17, 18 maybe? Mannnnn Broscas grow up fast. The way Rica is in my head is the same as she is in the toolset. Leske as Jimmy Dean makes me lulz though, in my head he's just a thug. Lol at Gorim just being "loyal" too. The female Aeducan romance was a nice touch in the end.

Bhelen as a narcassitic bastard makes sense too. Mind if I post this to my LJ comm? THis stuff is gooooooooollld. No, wait! You post it! :D

Gorim's eighteen?!?! No way. And he can't fight anymore by nineteen? Now I feel even worse for getting him exiled...

I see the toolset's trying to take the moral ambiguity out of the Orzammar situation.

Great info. Glad you gave in and downloaded it.

Trian and Endrin's ages are obviously from the Origins, so should we assume that's the same with the other characters who appear later? I'm guessing if Trian's 25 and Bhelen's 21 that would put the DN at around 23? That sounds about right for a first command post.

Pfft, you copy and paste away, honey. I still can't figure out how LJ works or how to set up notifications properly. It's a big mess for me! Kind of like wading through myspace. =p

See friend, not lover.

I have to admit, I would pick a higher age for Gorim, but beards makes people look older then they are though.

Edit: But, the ages offered by the toolset are not necessarily accurate.

Gorim being 18 is just proof of how much testosterone our dwarven men have if they can sport facial hair like that instead of sprouting whiskers!

My elder brother had a full beard by that age and some asked me if he was my dad. I am 2 years younger than he.

*curses brother for stealing all the testosterone from the gene-pool*

And it shows that he's inexperienced enough to get involved with a Princess even though it was doomed before it started. Image IPB

And if Bhelen's 21 and had been planning fratricide for years...I can just picture him at sixteen plotting the death of his siblings while everyone else his age were discovering the wondrs of noble huters...

Why was Bhelen considered a child when Branka was first made a Paragon when he was nineteen/twenty but Gorim isn't at eighteen?

Honestly, I have tried making every type of male dwarf combination involving romance, class, origin. And not once have I really felt that the dwarf would be nailing Morrigan or Leliana, so I never did. It feels so wierd for a self centered witch who cares about her looks to settle for a guy half her size and almost as wierd for Leliana to look down at me when I talked. So I made a female dwarf and romanced Zevran, didn't like him, he looks like a cross between Jersey Shore and a hooker (If there was any difference :D) Then romanced Alistair, and it felt wierd when the kiss thingy came up and all of a sudden they were at eye level, as if Alistair picked her up or bent down like she was a puppy.

The furthest ever with a dwarf character was level 10 Female noble, 2 treaties

I didn't see any wrinkles and Trian just has light blonde hair. He probably bleaches it...

Just for that I'm going to post Alistair/Aeducan fanart! Well, when I get around to drawing the fun stuff. All I got is Sereda bossing his about. Alistair is irritating to draw, him and his dude bro hair and stupid nose. Will post it when I'm happy with the way he looks.

Why do you have two different avatars on LJ? Does it randomly pick from your pool of avatars every time you post?

Icons! You pick which ones you want to use with each post. Seriously I have a feeling you're going to love making them, if your screenshots are anything to go by.  If you have a paid account like I do, you can have over a certain amount I do believe.

Bhelen has been compared to Emperor Augustus, who at age 20 had already plotted his plan to gain control of the whole of the Roman Empire. At 19 years old, when Caesar died, he became his heir and hatched the whole political plan.

Not surprising for a noble born to plan from a very young age.

As for Gorim, well he was considered a child, but he was your servant.

Daaaaamn all that info!!! Gorim's 18??WTH? I thought he was like.... early 30's..... so how old is the PC??!

Rica's 22?! Another wooooooooah factor!

Kinda sad reading King Aeducan's profile..... he was a pretty cool NPC..... sucks he dies after the Warden is exiled from Orzzamar.... never got to say goodbye for the final time

Ok question about the Aeducan's....

its King Endrin

then the kids are

Trian- 25 soon to be deceased...

The PC- 22/23.....ish?

Behlen- 21 and the traitor

Dare I ask what a DN is supposed to do regarding Harrowmont and Behlen..

Can a DN have any interaction with Rica? Does she still have baby Endrin in that storyline? Wouldn't that make them related.....? Sorta?

I'm actually kinda disappointed on the toolset directions for Bhelen. Maybe I'm just a optimist, but I thought that he might actually care for Rica, so he might tell her the truth about what he was feeling, about being heartbroken about his father sending him away.

I'm too into meta-gaming to put Harrowmont on the throne though. I come up with reasons for my people to put Bhelen on the throne. Usually it's just because my characters don't like weak people to rule but for my DN I'm having a hard time coming up with a reason. Which is why I haven't gotten past Ostagar (I need to make all my decisions before I get to them lol)

Dare I ask what a DN is supposed to do regarding Harrowmont and Behlen..

If you feel that removing the house which has ruled Orzammar for well over 9 nine generations, damning the castless to their continued life style and making sure Orzammar politics remain blood baths, then by all means choose Harrowmont for a thing so petty as revenge.

The first two things I listed are found in the game before even choosing one of them king, only the third is something you find at the epilogue.

After you side with Bhelen the two girls gossiping in the Diamond Quarter reveal that Bhelen has a son but the mother is casteless, so I'm thinking yes. The world is exactly the same and the Origins play out, the only difference is where Duncan was and who becomes the Warden. The DN can briefly meet Rica when they walk by Bhelen's room in the Origin and she comes out to see if Bhelen's back, before retreating back into the room. Talk to her and she'll freak out that she bothered you and when you give her leave, she'll leave the palace.
