*END DIALOGUE* (SET: ORZ_HESPITH_KILLED)  Action: Hespith walks off the edge of whatever she's standing on, and falls to her death. Preferably down one of the crevices that border the broodmother's room, but we'll take what we can get.

Another example of the game expecting us to believe something it didn't show us.

Oh well, I am glad Hespith is dead. But I wanted to kill her! Posted Image
And say cool lines like "I am going to put you out of your misery". It's not fair.

Unless it's said by Christopher Walken, that line isn't that great. Guess we're not really missing out after all.

Still, Hespith committing suicide is interesting. Not sure how we were supposed to infer it, but hey, the toolset makes everything better!

Bleh.

Screw "putting her out of her misery"

I just want her to shut up with her creepy poems!

What were his VO cues when he finds the body like? Did it look like he doubted her?

You mean Endrin, right?

He barely has any lines when he finds her with Trian's body, but here are the VO notes:

Endrin: "My daughter. Tell me this isn't what it looks like." (Blank)
DN: "Father, I can explain!"
Endrin: "Do so. Before my heart tears itself apart." (VO: Great sadness and disappointment)

If you kill the scout that lied about you killing Trian.

Bemot: "Stop her! Take her weapons! I think we've seen enough."
Endrin: "No. If the scout were lying, I might have done much the same." (VO: thoughtful, still desperately hoping that someone might give him a reason to believe his child is innocent)
Endrin: "I will not drag my daughter back to Orzammar in chains without hearing from Frandlin Ivo." (VO: Distressed, though still regal and commanding)

When Frandlin Ivo betrays you.

Gorim: "You treacherous bastard!"
Endrin: "Silence, Gorim." (VO: Quiet but commanding)
Endrin: "Do you have anything else to say, my daughter?" (VO: Sorrowful, but dignified -- even for his own child, he must enforce justice)
Regardless of whether the DN apologies or says she's innocent, Endrin's final VO note just says "sadness" in his reply.

I always thought killing the scout made your case look worse so I never chose it. However, after seeing those notes I see no reason to refrain from gutting him anymore lol.

"Justice"? You mean like when he let the Assembly condemn her without a trial which went against both law AND tradition? Actions are far more important than regret.

I just love how you walk up to the scout all calm like and then murder knife him while everyone else looks on as if they're watching a puppet show.

(and in a sense they are)

Well he's only a random warrior who no one knows except as 'scout.' Given the way the caste system works I think it would be stranger if they did make a fuss.

Aww, I'm late for the family talk discussions (cursed time zone differences) :(

I'll just post something I drew a while back with Queen Aeducan (how I imagine she might've looked like) and Teeny Tiny Lady Aeducan back when Maric and son came a-visitin'.

Speaking of gutting the scout who betrayed you in the Origin, it never seemed to cross my mind to stab the lying sob? My DN was too busy being a deer caught in the headlights, I guess more shocked that her father did not believe her innocence (to be fair though, she was covered in blood over Trian's dead body).

Replace Alistair with Cailan and replace toys with glory and it still works. Posted Image

Yup, that's right. Maric never acknowledged Alistair as his son, remember?

Cailan mentions to the Dwarven PCs that he had been to Orzammar for a Grand Proving years ago. I figure this would be a scene during the intermission or something.

@aimo -- I like that you included the dwarven queen in the drawing. I was a little sorry there was no reference to her whatsoever. King Endrin only says how well his daughter in her grandmother's armor.

At least Lady Helmi remembers her. She probably died quite some time ago to explain why she's never mentioned but even Rowan came up a few times and she was dead for, what, twenty years? And Maric was gone five but Loghain couldn't shut up about him...

Oh, really? Must look up her VO notes tomorrow! (Kid is on my main computer playing a game. Gonna kick him off soon. Or buy an ipad and make him use that, heh.)

The Broodmother?

It's really not clear just how much is known about what the Broodmother looks like (they definitely don't know how they're made) but I suppose if anyone would turn that bit of nightamre fuel into a children's toy, it would be the dwarves.

Indeed. If you talk to Lord Dace first she says something about how your mother would be appalled by what you just did - although how she knew what you talked about, the fact you didn't DO anything yet, and how the word 'melted' comes up is beyond me - and then proceeds to explain what Dace was really after. If you don't talk to Dace then you can't talk to her but she says your mother would be proud of you. I think the two were probably friends since she's the only person who ever seems to remember her ever.
