A turrent over one eye? Sounds . . . painful yet effective.
Does it fire cannonballs or something similar?
Just throws out the occasional filty look!

No sultry ones?
It's especially hard to deal with if it's the sister he tried to have killed a year earlier. Damned loose end...Bhelen: DAMN YOU, PLOT ARMOR! DAMN YOU!
I've never let Alistair wander off to become a drunk myself because, well, it's a rebellion just waiting to happen. Still, it seems to work out in the end (except for Alistair) so no harm done by going that route. My Shepard didn't romance anyone in ME2 for the same reason Aunn doesn't in DA: closure is a must and Shepard didn't even have the two years Kaidan did to get over her (which he didn't seem to very well). Horizen hardly qualifies as 'closure' and that email made it less so. If I find out I refrained from going after Garrus and Kaidan become injured and unable to fight, has gotten married, and is expecting his first child...well I might just end up killing him. There's only so many times I can take that kind of thing and at least with Gorim it was a matter of practicality and survival.Gilsa wrote...
Phew, happy to discuss it here. There are some places I go where me making Alistair a drunk is really not well-recieved so I'm always pleased to see logical discussions!
Another aspect to my noble is that she just lost her whole family overnight, so to speak, so Alistair also filled that role to a certain extent. Losing him at Landsmeet was deja vu. Did you play ME2? I see a lot of parallels between my ME1 romantic interest being pissed off at my character when he saw her again in ME2. He is convinced she is working with the enemy and walked away (although she did get an email afterwards apologizing for the outburst and the door is still opened a tiny crack for reconcilation). Alistair being pissed off at Landsmeet for siding with the enemy reminds me of the same ME2 scenario so I am hoping there will be character growth on his end and my character's, if they run into each other again. If not, oh well, I can't let a romance define my whole game. That would make my games pretty one-dimensional otherwise. =p
I think that was more a necessity than anything else. If you refuse to go with Duncan who is your only chance of living then it's because you want to die down there (and it makes you wonder why you even sought him out in the first place). We've never seen anyone choose to ignore the right of conscription because in the other Origins if you try then the people around you insist that you have no choice. The DN already no longer exists in Orzammar and is all alone. If they refuse to be conscripted, what's Duncan going to do? Kill them? That's what they're looking for anyway so it won't be much of a deterrent and Duncan needs to persuade them to go.Gilsa wrote...
Aye, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw his comments via the toolkit. I should look at it again to see if it activates the "forced conscription" flag because it didn't even look like he invoked the right of conscription on the noble. He just came across as a smooth talker.

Since I do happen to respect the will of the Assembly (although why is another matter entirely) then I can't COMPLETELY go against the 'punishment' but since they told me to go into the Deep Roads and to die fighting darkspawn, I always figure that as a GW it'll happen at some point anyway and Blights are Serious Business.(IF: NOT MurderPlot) Duncan: "There is no reason for you to walk these Deep Roads and die for something you did not do." (polite, respectful)

Why? Maybe because he freaking ambushed his sister and was willing to take some random scout deciding to ignore her express order to surrender as proof she was a traitor. If I ever manage to get that situation in a playthrough I get the feeling I'll lose a lot of sympathy for him on account of him being a moron. Also, has anyone played around with Trian to hear his battle-cries? On this playthrough I think I heard "whhhhy" during the finishing-animation.

Endrin: What has happened here?!
DN: I killed Trian. Well . . . to be more accurate, I was conspiring to kill Trian but he discovered it and I surrendered to him but the scout here decided to attack him and as a result Trian lost all of his sanity and tried to kill all of us instead of just the scout.
DN: Try not to feel bad father. He was an idiot. I put him out of his misery.

idk, the fact he hit on my sister? The fact he refused to better himself even when I offered him a way out? The fact I had to kill the douche? The fact he wanted me to succeed but still did what he did?
I would mention that my views are different to how I write Missa's.

Well, naturally. It's like with the mages and Jowan; the game insists that you're friends even if you just can't understand why.
And so it was 'stay away from my sister, you pervert' from the first and he just continued to fall in your estimation from there?
I know I kind of liked him at first but (unlike with all of the other Origin guys) I just couldn't see my character being attracted to him so he was just the friend who needed to shut up about my sister.
Well, I could certaily see Jowan being so annoying no one else will even talk to him and while I still don't get why a Chantry initiate like Lily would risk Aeonar for Jowan of all people, she and the Mage Warden never met so wouldn't know that he hated Jowan.Cuddlezarro wrote...

I played my mage as the hated Jowan but for some reason jowan thought he liked him kind of thing
its happened to me in real life... atleast until I graduated highschool

I struggled to 'feel' a friendship with Jowan, but i found it easier with Leske. It's a long time now since I played that origin and I can't remember how I felt about him hitting on my sister. Why shouldn't he?
(Maybe it's time for me to make another dwarf).
Why shouldn't he? Well since Rica's whoring herself out you already have to think about her having sex more than you should so the last thing you need is for your supposed best friend to keep your mind on that particular subject. And since he knows it bothers you he should shut up about it AROUND you. I know that if I had a friend that wouldn't shut up about how much they wanted to have sex with one of my brothers even though I keep telling them to drop it then we would certainly have problems.I struggled to 'feel' a friendship with Jowan, but i found it easier with Leske.
