Aren't there mods for the Xbox though? I only played a small time on my own, until my brother kicked me out...( prefer PC anyway )
I don't think that any mods have been released. There were talks about releasing the more popular ones to console, but I don't think its happened yet (I use PC).

On a related note I just played and finished Bioshock 2. It also made me sad.
However this was counteracted by how ****in awesome the DRILL is. DELTA SMASH!

This makes me sad, too. At least I could still use the character creator or I'd be stuck with King Glorious as my avi. There are no mods for the console. This makes me sad.

"Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death." - Mathew 10:21 Christian Bibble.
Dragon Age: War of Shadows.
Prologue: Origins.
The two sides clashed, in a sea of steel and blood. Sparks flew as the weapons of warriors met in a test of strength to see who would be the stronger, crossbowmen released the deadly payload of their weapons. The bolts of their weapons breaking through the armor of both sides easily.
Duran launched himself at Trian, knowing he was at a severe disadvantage against his brother in both troops and personal battle prowess, but he would be damned until he gave up. He charged, shield raised to absorb the impact of his brother's weapon and sword coming in fast on his brother's flank in a quick strike. Trian simply blocked the blow with the shaft of his hammer and then launched his own attack against his brother, putting Duran momentarily on the defensive.
Pulling back, Duran wiped away the sweat forming on his brow with his sword hand, never taking away his gaze from his brother and keeping his shield steady. Around them their companies continued their deadly dance for supremacy, but Duran knew he would eventually lose, no matter how skilled Gorim and Franklin Ivo were they would eventually be taken down by Trian's hardened veterans. But if he killed Trian then his men might lose heart and he would win.
Raising his sword he charged, aiming for Trian's legs. His brother however sidestepped the blow and launched his own attack. Duran raised his shield to block.....
....and then it shattered. The hard wooden shield not able to stand against so much force any longer.
Duran was thrown off his feed, crashing down hard on the stone rock. Trian's maul coming down hard on him, he barely had time to roll over to avoid being crushed and drawing the Aeducan Shield he used it to block the next blow. Surprisingly the hundreds year old shield held against the blow.
"You use your house heirlom to defend yourself?!" shouted Trian in scorn "I shall see you exiled for your...."
He never finished as a blade suddenly sticked out from his chest, from behind him Gorim stood with his hand on the hilt.
"You talk to much, your majesty." said Gorim in mockery, before pulling out the sword and letting Trian fall the ground dead. Sheathing his sword, he offered a hand for his lord, who still was surprised at his second's timely rescue. He noticed that Trian's warriors were all dead, but it had cost him a great deal as only half a dozen out of his company of forty had survived.
"Some first command." he thought bitterly. If only he had been more prepared for Trian's mercenaries in the Aeducan Thaig this would not have happened.
He was suddenly pulled out from his thoughts as the sounds of armored footsteps suddenly eachoed in the cavern. When he saw Bhelen and his father he understood it had all been a set up, for both him and Trian.
"Clever Bhelen, very clever." he said towards his younger brother as he was accused of kinslaying "But you shall not take me alive to Orzammar. Men to arms!"
His last warriors, save Ivo who had betrayed him, rallied and charged against the royal guard, knowing fully well they would not stand a chance against the elite troops. They urged Duran to escape into the Deep Roads while they held the line. He did so, but only after gutting the traitorous Ivo.
He turned and ran down into the deep roads, never glancing back towards the sounds of battle.

I do a lot of tests and make some characters just to test Toolset fun ingame. Still working on the Aeducan, fine-tuning and such.

On your fanfic: How many people did he have with him to support him? I thought in the game having three followers wasn't just a game mechanic as you and Gorim went off alone to look for the shield and would encounter two scouts on the way. And did you also kill the traitorous scout? I hated him more as Ivo at least looked hesitant and Bhelen had to glare at him for awhile but he slandered you. The scout it seemed just really hated you and kept mocking and belittling you the entire time he was in your party.

As for numbers. The company the DN had was 40 Strong. Him + Gorim + 34 Warriors ( some with shields and swords, others with two handed axes and crossbows ) + 4 scouts, sent into two teams ahead of them by Harrowmont and Endrin.
He was a commander, but by gameplay mechanics he had only 3 troops under his command, that's silly. Trian had about the same number of men in his own company.
I considered making dwarven companies 100-200 Strong, but I realize that the shortage of dwarven troops would force their commanders to change their structure and create more companies with fewer men, thus they have 40 men companies.
In that whole battle ( as in Duran + Endrin + Harrowmont + Trian+ House Helmi ) there was about a battalion sized force involved, totaling at about 200 troops.

I can't bring myself to kill Trian as Bhelen's 'oh, maybe our big brother who seems to think I'm some sort of cross between a small child and a pet will suddenly decide I'm a threat and I'm worried!' is just really transparent and unconvincing. In-game I think you could realize Bhelen's trying to talk you into killing Trian for whatever reason - it could even just be his being fed-up at Trian's treatment of him and genuine worry for House Aeducan for all you know at that point - when if he really wanted him dead it would be safer to do it himself without involving you and so wait and see. Thus you get a non-moron DN who still severely underestimates Bhelen and gets exiled.Conzuela wrote...
This Aeducan reminds me of how I'm developing my new Lady A. I'm gathering a more deliberate slaying of Trian in this case? I always go for it and end up supporting Bhelen later on, even as his exiled sibling... >.>
If you kill Trian personally then siding with Bhelen is a no-brainer (unless, of course, you want the throne for yourself as killing Trian implies and the go for Harrowmont) as he really did nothing wrong. He told you Trian MIGHT try to kill you and then tattled on you later. He then bribed the Assembly, of course, but you're actually guilty and you didn't have to listen to him and kill Trian. For all you know, all of this could have been avoided if you just refused to commit fratricide.

Oh, I know, right? My Aeducan only ever trusted her father and Gorim and then Endrin fed her to darkspawn for what first appeared to be (mistaken) belief she was a kinslayer. That hurts but it's understandble and justified if she really was. Then she finds out via the note Gorim gives her that he never thought she did it and just wanted to avoid a scandal. Even if she were guilty, that woud be even worse as its proof image means more to him than his own daughter. That hurts more but it's understandable as his position as King and head of House Aeducan requires him to put the family first. Finally, upon returning to Orzammar she finds out that apparently the throne wasn't so all-important as to put a King with progressive tendencies on the throne so her exile was a complete waste. Hello, daddy issues.Conzuela wrote...
The Aeducan origin is such a wonderful example of how distorted and muddied perceptions get in the game. It's hard to remember or even realize "reality" when you're too busy trying to make an impression in the harsh climate of Orzammar politics. It's also a super awesome chance to role-play your character's decisions out and forces you to make a lot of important choices almost immediately that can make or break things like your character's reputation, sanity, etc etc. Trust issues are a b*tch later on if you're actually playing to the character's mindset. My Aeducan was a mess!
That just leave Gorim. And if she romnced him and he showed up married no matter how soon she saw him...it may be understandable that he needed to survive but that's a definite betrayal even if he was still loyal to her and didn't blame her for what happened.
Is it really any wonde my DN can never bring themselves to romance anyone (especially not Alistair due to his strong resemblance to Bhelen which would be a major turn-off even before the events of the Origin)?

(This screenie is a modded kiss by Charsen who makes AMAZING modded kisses).
Anyway, yeh, I think Bhelen looks a lot like Alistair as well. I wish Gorim were romanceable to a greater extent than a dumping in Denerim (though my Aeducan does like to tell him about her new love BEFORE said dumping).

Bhelen inherited all of Maric's awesomeness and badass genes, Cailan got the glorious ones, and Alistair...is pretty. I mean, he tries but he could never pull off such a brilliant Xanatos gambit like, say, the entire DN origin.Herr Uhl wrote...
