For no apparent reason me2 won't let me save my game regularly anymore. when i go to the 'save game' menu all I can see are saved games and no 'empty slot' so as to make a new save. all i can do is quicksave.
I haven't changed anything in my documents, havent moved folders arround, nothing at all. just no option to create new saves, only overwrite existing ones. Is there some sort of savegame maximum per character? my last regular save is no. 52.

ME2 has a limit of 50 "real" saves. Therefore you'll have to delete/overwrite some of your older savegames if you want to create a new one.

As I may be in danger of running into this the next time I play ME2, I'm interested in a clarification on this problem. I've never understood from the posts: is it a limit of saves per character as Zaknaberrnon was suggesting, or is the limit for all saves between characters as 9thLich seems to be implying?

FYI, you can cut your saves out of your folder and move 'em to another one, then toss 'em back in when you want 'em again, instead of straight up deleting them.
