Seriously though thank you so much for writing that application man. Don't know what I would have done without it. I've really come to understand why consoles have a market. I've spent over six hours trying to figure this out. That's six very frustrating hours that I could have spent gaming, or just living. When developers make something this hard to integrate it's a wonder that PC gamers even want BDtS. Can't wait for simpler DLC systems from EA. This makes for a poor experience, and if not for you I would just have given up.
For everyone else who hasn't tried this:
First run the game once - this means create a character and exit the game once you're free to move around the Normandy with that character. This ensures the installer can find Mass Effect on your system.
1.) ~ Download the app Zesban wrote from http://www.filedropper.com/fixbdts
2.) ~ Create a folder for that app and the BDtS installer (which you can download from here: http://files.bioware...t_BDtS_ES_a.exe )
3.) ~ Run the app as an Administrator (right click on the app to bring up this option)
4.) ~ Follow the app's instructions.
5.) ~ Post here thanking Zesban for his help!
