not every single one of are conversations are about Tali. We have talks about quarians in general such as their biology for example, what would be the color of their skin and so on. yes you have seen over obssessed Tali fans but as you have never seen a shrine or church of Tali have you we're not a cult. As I said before all of the support groups are exactly the same there's literally no difference I've lurked in all of them.KendallX23 wrote...

Whilst I don't want to tar all Tali fans with the same brush and I myself thinks she's a great character, some of the Tali fans have gone a bit far and have seemingly forgotten that the character is in fact a video game character. I mean I'm all for fan art but it's the the way in which some Tali fans hold the character with such a high degree of personnel attachment. People actually talk about her like she's a real person and how they want to live on the Quarian home world with her. I'm pretty certain there's some fan fiction floating round to which borders on soft-core erotic fiction which to me, seems kind of weird and quite sad.
As I said, this is only a small minority who have an unhealthy attachment to the character and who's escapism has gone a little to far. I think all LI's have those fans who take it a little to far and seem to have reality slightly distorted, it just so happens though that within the Tali fan community there seems to be slightly more..

We have 6696 pages.
Well, I've held off until now. But I think it's time.
Ladies and gentlemen of the BioWare forums, it's time to play the new and exciting game show that's sweeping the nation!
FIND!
THE!
CONTENT!!!
Here's how the game works. Your host is going to go on random.org and generate two random numbers. The first is for the page of the current Tali thread, and the second is a number from 1-25, corresponding to the post number on that page. And the game is over when we find a post on the Tali thread that is:
A) More than just a one-line post or reply
C) Not just somebody signaling their entrance or exit, asking what they missed, or generally doing something OTHER than actually having a discussion about something Mass Effect and/or Tali related.
Is everybody ready? Then let's go!
Random number 1=4487, Random number 2=1: First out of the gate, and we have just a picture. Not a good start, let's see if we have better luck on the next one.
Random number 1=3730, Random number 2=19: Nope, just a one-line reply. Moving on to round 3.
Random number 1=2899, Random number 2=7: We don't have a winner yet, but we're not giving up!
Random number 1=431, Random number 2=24: Well, we're back to text, a good start. But still, only one line, and not actually discussing the topic of the thread. Judges are not accepting it.
Random number 1=153, Random number 2=19: Ooooh, SO close! Actual discussion of Tali, but just one line. The game continues.
Random number 1=3436, Random number 2=2: Well, it looks like we finally have a win... YOU FOOL! We may have to cut to commercial if this game continues any longer.
Random number 1=2159, Random number 2=4: Um, wow. You know, when I set out to do this joke, I knew it would take a while, but I had no idea it would take THIS long...
Random number 1=3823, Random number 2=8: No, seriously, I really thought I'd be done by now...
Random number 1=4233, Random number 2=23: Oh, come on!
Random number 1=1730, Random number 2=12: *sigh*
Random number 1=3954, Random number 2=23: This is never going to end, is it?
Random number 1=4786, Random number 2=25: Just my entire Saturday spent doing this...
Random number 1=1753, Random number 2=17: Kill me. Just kill me now.
Random number 1=2709, Random number 2=12: Oh, look, a quote pyramid. Joy.
Random number 1=3772, Random number 2=9: I'm about ready to make up numbers just to end this. But no, the legitimacy of my experiment must not be in question!
Random number 1=3746, Random number 2=21: I'm seriously amazed at how long this is going on.
Random number 1=1476, Random number 2=19: It's looking like I'm going to have to call this, soon.
Random number 1=4857, Random number 2=12: It's just... just... *sigh*
Random number 1=1387, Random number 2=19: Come on, man! Just one more sentence and that would have been two lines!
Random number 1=4971, Random number 2=2: Doo-de-doo...
Random number 1=36, Random number 2=24: Something earlier in the thread, maybe there was more... no.
Random number 1=986, Random number 2=11: Wait... multiple lines? And it's actually discussing something Mass Effect related! Yes, it has nothing to do with Tali, but it's content! Actual content!
WE HAVE A WINNER!
So, what was the point of all this, you ask?
So that you can understand why I seethe with rage whenever a Tali fan comes around to wave their e-wangs around about how many pages they have, when this utter dross is what they're celebrating.
Are the other character threads innocent of this? Hell, no. But I enjoy visiting the threads of characters like Samara and Jack, and if they ever turned into something like this, I would leave.

That rubs everyone the wrong way? I recently conducted a social experiment in the Tali thread after a...heated...discussion in the Liara thread in order to find out their response to a nearly identical question. They responded very well, not at all what I was expecting. I'm sure all of you know how the Tali thread is perceived as well as how the people in it are perceived and treated. This led me to believe that the Tali thread and the people who post there would have more reason to be defensive than the Liara fans. Despite this, in an identical amount of pages as it took the Liara thread to devolve to threats to my safety, the Tali thread passed from honest responses (which were paralleled by the Liara thread) to taking my words slightly out of context (also paralleled) to vague insults and then (this is where the two threads diverge) acceptance of a difference of opinion.
Even after I told the Tali thread that I used them in an experiment, they still showed their class by taking it in stride.
The Experiment didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. All it said was that you shouldn't judge people by their reputations. Not every fan of a sweet and innocent character like Liara is good, and not every member of the Cult of Tali is bad.
This isn't to say that people in the Liara thread are bad because then that would be judging others based on their reputations. I don't even think that the posters in my heated argument were bad, just not what I was expecting. Conversely, the members of the Tali thead who were posting at the time aren't necessarily good, I still think they are creepy, but in an understandable human way.
I only post this because one of the Tali thread people suggested I do.
Congratulations on discovering that people aren't 2-dimensional caricatures?
Besides, the perceived hatred of Tali-worshippers and other zealous fans is greatly exaggerated - typical pluralistic ignorance at work.

So your logic is to troll someone when you don't like them? You stereotype the entire group of people based off the weird **** that seven people (at max) post. Does something being popular bother you? "Oh no these guys are in a thread and while I don't have to go into it or even think about it, the very existence of it ruins a character for me." "Oh no! The character I like is popular! My adolescent logic is making me hate what I like! I'm gonna post a video of her because when I have nothing to respond with, it's troll time."
Listen. I said it myself. I think some of the **** posted is sick too, but I've learned to ignore it. People constant talk about me saying I have sand up my ass and even a stupid person that calls me a troll (For always trying to get us back on topic) instilled a list of rules for the thread in which number 48 is "Antilles is always a jerk. No exceptions."
Stop whining about it, if you don't like what goes on in it, then don't go to it. If you do go to it, then learn to ignore it like I have. I'm gonna stress this with bold and colors.
IF I HAVE LEARNED TO IGNORE IT, THAN ANYONE CAN. BEING A TROLL AND POSTING A VIDEO OF A CHARACTER DYING JUST MAKES YOU A TROLL.

As for the "experiment"... it is worthless, really. If the message was simply that most fans are good people and we should all be able to get along, then fine. But that is clearly not what people are getting from the OP.
