I only post this because one of the Tali thread people suggested I do.
Wait, was that me?
Btw: I really don't feel excluded from the community, my previous post was a joke, I know most people don't hate us
Oh, cool
This thread probably won't change much though. Most people know we're not all that bad and the ones who insist on perpetuating these claims are just messed anyway

You know what sucks about it? It was april fools day so I don't know why I expected anything different but, after the Tali threads reaction gave me a warm feeling (it's nice to see people show class) I got in a car accident like 4 hours later. Both cars were totalled.Nightwriter wrote...
Actually, that experiment does sound pretty interesting.
I wonder how long it will take before someone decides to post that creepy Tali doll picture...

That rubs everyone the wrong way? I recently conducted a social experiment in the Tali thread after a...heated...discussion in the Liara thread in order to find out their response to a nearly identical question. They responded very well, not at all what I was expecting. I'm sure all of you know how the Tali thread is perceived as well as how the people in it are perceived and treated. This led me to believe that the Tali thread and the people who post there would have more reason to be defensive than the Liara fans. Despite this, in an identical amount of pages as it took the Liara thread to devolve to threats to my safety, the Tali thread passed from honest responses (which were paralleled by the Liara thread) to taking my words slightly out of context (also paralleled) to vague insults and then (this is where the two threads diverge) acceptance of a difference of opinion.
I believe most in the Liara thread answered your quesion civily. You are blowing it out of proportion. I believe you also looked for insults that were not present. Were you 'fishing' for grief in the Liara thread just to prove a point?

I did. I just don't think we need any more Tali threads around here. PERIOD.
Jesus, dosen't anyone notice the giant 5,000 page Tali thread? Just keep Tali there.
Which proves you either didn't read the OP, or didn't comprehend what you read.
I read and understood the OP just fine. I just feel that all Tali related stuff (including Talimancers) needs to stay in the Tali thread. It's that f'n simple.

It reminds me of the "Claymate phenomenon" of American Idol 2. Why can't you be a fan of whoever you like best and just enjoy the game?

Respectfully, is nothing about your fight with the Liara thread that can be construed as a "social experiment". So there are good eggs and bad eggs in every fan group. Why not say, "I had a lovely conversation with the Tali fans about ____ and I appreciated the respectful and mature manner in which they answerd my question"?
As is, your OP makes it look like you're sore after the argument you had with the Liara fans and that you want everyone to know what happened. It appears as if you are playing the victim. I will not assume that this is your intent, but it comes off that way. Just something to think about, OP.

No, I said that not all Liara fans are like that. I don't even hold a grudge for the ones who did respond poorly. If you read the full OP I say that I don't think that it says anything about the respective communities except that you shouldn't judge a group by it's reputation. I don't think any of you are bad.jlb524 wrote...

And most people did respond civily. I appreciate it too. It was what I was looking for. I never meant to instigate anything in the Liara thread.
And I wasn't fishing for grief in the Liara thread. I went there to ask a question because I was curious. All I wanted was an honest answer and most of you gave it to me. It was just something of a shock to have to respond to what happened there, that's all.

I appreciate the feedback and it wasn't my intention to come across that way. I called it a social experiment with the Tali thread because that is what it was. I went there to see what would happen. Does that make me a troll? Probably, but my intentions were good.fortunesque wrote...
I read your OP. I also read what you said on the Liara thread. I have my own thoughts about that incident but I will not share them publicly.

What I wanted to convey with the OP was that you shouldn't judge the Tali fans by their reputations. The liara thread stuff was just context.
