When you come in and post pictures such as that, or attack fans for liking Tali and not someone else, than yes.
We (I) could care less who you like, that's not the issue. It's when people try to say us liking Tali offends them that it goes into that area.

I didn't attach connotation to it; I attached the proper context to it. If someone doesn't attach the proper context to what they see and hear, miscommunication takes place. I took your post literally and it literally said that Liara fans threatened you and that you were surprised by that. So, if the topic isn't about the Liara fans, then don't post about them. Simple as that.

Going into a fan thread where people really like a character and even being 'polite' and just expressing an opinion gets annoying for people when it starts to dominate the topic and turn people away from what they wish to talk about. Perhaps you should have started a new thread expressing your feelings and waiting to see what happened rather than potentially screwing up the enjoyment of people because you wanted to 'experiment'. Seems pretty selfish to me.

I couldn't start a new thread about it because then I wouldn't be getting the whole fanbase.  I wanted to know what the Tali fans felt, and I wouldn't get that if I started a new thread. 

Besides, four pages is like inhaling and exhaling for that thread.  It didn't bother any of them.

Let's face it ... There are folks on the boards that take stuff way too seriously. I like to think they're the minority. The rest of the people may have [strong] like & dislikes but are reasonable enough to be cool about most things.

I care when people attack us. And yes, it is a horrible horrible thing to do.

but u make it out to be as if tali is ur friend(a real one) or that tali is u.

i thought tali was a video game char

I think most of the "haters" [Anti-Tali, Anti-Jack, Anti-whoever] are generally worse than the fans at the other end of the spectrum.   I also suspect that most folks would be a whole lot more civil in public.

All the bit about the Liara fans was supposed to do was give context to why I conducted a social experiment.  If I had said that i went to the tali thread and asked them a random question, then the whole point of the thread would have been lost.  It is supposed to be about how you shouldn't judge others rashly, and I needed a counter-example to support my point.  Otherwise it would just have been about how some random tali fans responded favorably to an experiment, which is all well and good but it doesn't say anything about what I wanted to say.

I consider Tali to be the greatest character ever made. As such, there is definitely a relationship with emotion there.
She is my "friend", and I defend them.

I consider master chief and commander shepard as the greatest characters but tali is on of my favs.
