I consider Tali to be the greatest character ever made. As such, there is definitely a relationship with emotion there.
She is my "friend", and I defend them.

I consider master chief and commander shepard as the greatest characters but tali is on of my favs.

And I stand firm in saying that there was no "experiment," just pointless observations you made that you tried to pass off as some sort of fact.  You knew exactly the type of response you would be getting when you started this thread, OP.  You can't poke at people and not have them defend themselves, especially when the exact details of anything that transpired are left out.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be offensive. Yes, I guess, the hood, the doll, it just... looks like a crudely made and quite sick Tali doll.

You have to understand the contexts that outsiders of the Tali community see this picture in. I've never really been one of the Tali fans, even though I quite like her, and it's always felt a bit like a closed community to me.

Then every time a thread pops up discussing the Talimancers or their potential "creepiness", this picture crops up. I admit I might make assumptions about it simply because of the context in which it appeared. That's wrong, though, and I think it's sad that someone actually created that picture to begin with to create the misconception.

I didn't attach connotation to it; I attached the proper context to it. If someone doesn't attach the proper context to what they see and hear, miscommunication takes place. Simple as that.

All the bit about the Liara fans was supposed to do was give context to why I conducted a social experiment.  If I had said that i went to the tali thread and asked them a random question, then the whole point of the thread would have been lost.  It is supposed to be about how you shouldn't judge others rashly, and I needed a counter-example to support my point.  Otherwise it would just have been about how some random tali fans responded favorably to an experiment, which is all well and good but it doesn't say anything about what I wanted to say.

I don't think that you would have lost your point about Tali fans being nice folks by omitting the Liara thread incident. As is, the snippets about the Liara thread are actually detracting from your original intent; multiple posters other than myself have been distracted from the OP by the Liara thread reference.

how on earth did you come to that conclusion? the sentence was implying you had a dirty mind, it was implying you are pessimistic

*SIGH* I didn't poke at the Liara thread, i poked at the Tali thread to get a comparison.  Experiment may not be the scientifically correct name for it, but that is what I called it.  You and most of this thread have ignored the main point in favor of the minor details.  This thread is supposed to be about how you shouldn't judge people by their reputations but you all have made it about Tali fans vs Liara fans.  I don't understand why everyone doesn't just read the OP, understand why I wrote it, and stop flaming me. 

All I'm doing is bringing light to a problem I have seen multiple times on these forums.  I am also just trying to say that people aren't always who they appear to be.  It is a cultural message and it is telling the reactiion I am getting. Some people just don't want to be shaken from their ways.  I'm done here, humanity sucks.
