I mean proper ones, not garbage like Rainbow 6 Vegas or console rubbish like Operation Flashpoint 2 and other non-sense. Outside of Arma II (which is buggy as hell)and Red Orchestra I can't think of too many. Of the upcoming games, Arma II's stand alone expansion and Red Orcestra II are about the only ones that come to mind. Ghost Recon Advanced something or another looks to be another poor attempt by Ubisoft to emulate Hollywood cheese. Pc users will be lucky if they put the same effort into creating a pc experence as they did with GRAW 1./2 as Ubisoft's treatment of pc gaming has gotten more and more worse. It seems dead or at least in a vegatative state.
Are tactical shooters all but dead?

The last one I played that stands out to me is SWAT 4. They appear to have turned the new Splinter Cell into a single player tactical shooter instead of a stealth first game with the new shooting mechanic; but I agree with you, good tactical shooters/squad based tactical shooters are pretty much dead in favor of the single player "do everything Ramirez" shooters like CODMW2

i actually didn;t mind OF2 that much, although to be fair I played it on PC. The biggest issue was that it seemed much too small and repetitive to take advantage of the work put into the engine. As you said, ARMA 2 -could- be great, if they had spent more than 32 seconds playtesting it. Even after like 6 patches it is still a buggy piece of crap. Also, I would like to see a larger role of vehicles in the game since they seem kind of tacked-on to me. You see them parked a lot but military vehicles rarely make an appearance. (I don't necessarily mean the players should be flying attack helicopters and whatnot, I mean that overall they should have a larger presence.)
The problem is that a proper tactical shooter is supposed to be difficult, and the rise of instant-gratification console crap has pretty much pushed the gaming industry away from making challenging games. A huge portion of the market wants to feel invincible without thinking things through or taking their time with a game (See the 300 million "Da is too hard" threads on the DA forums, or how many people think ME2 is awesome because it is pretty much impossible to die in.)

I miss ye olden Rainbow Sixs, where nobody had heard of regenerative health, dying was easy and the best part about the missions weren't the missions, but planning them.
