I would say it is worth it but if you cannot decide i would maybe rent it first.

What's wrong with DAO :

- Grapic restriction everywhere so the XBOX and PS3 won't melt.
- lot of blablablablabla for the amount of combat in game. Could be a book where you are the hero
- No MP at all. Not even a litle LAN to play with friend.
- Combat system a little pointless, at hight lvl there is no choice to make, you'll got it all.
- Restricted lightning/shadow engine for the XBOX and PS3.
- No night/day cycle.
- story a little to generic.
- very bad use of DLC. The game almost becamme a DLC benter.
- the dragon age updater, is a service that is always running. In truth it's nothing more than a spyware.

Aside from those point the game is good. Well crafted and so on. It's worth its price, and above average.

but it's a shade of what it could really have been. The port to PS3 and XBOX360 really hurted this game badly.

I find myself agreeing with nearly all of your points - despite thoroughly enjoying the game myself (when it isn't crashing ).

The technology inside the Xbox 360 and PS3 is antiquated by today's standards. We shall have to wait for the new next gen consoles before we see any advancements, and even then they will be years behind the PC.
