Romance and Fan based threads should get their own Forum.

I am in total agreement with the OP. The front pages of the spoiler and non-spoiler forums are a mess because of the type of threads he/she is complaining about.

Seriously, half of the threads on the front page are support threads, including the first eight! (not counting stickies)

Seriously, Rivercurse. Did you even read the OP?
If you did, what part of "Romance and Fan based threads should get their own forum." did you not understand?
The OP is not bashing the fan threads. He is simply stating frusturation over the fact that it's hard to keep a thread about storyline alive when it keeps getting buried under " support" threads.
I, for one, agree with him.

Well it's not that much of a waste because it would keep other more "interesting" threads from getting buried under those support thereads. And it would help keep things more organized.

Rivercurse, no need for the smart remarks. We all have the ability to scroll down pages.......but it would be nice to have an easier time spotting new threads or ones that have nothing to do with "_____ Appreciation Thread". Whether a thread merits a lot of responses or not matters little when you witness how quickly they are buried under such fandom.

I wouldn't be surprised if several of those appreciation threads were kept on top because a dedicated few were willing to continuously bump it up. There's a group section to this site where people can post messages, images, and what not regarding a particular character. It's not unreasonable to wish that much of what's seen in a forums first page be moved over to group discussions.

They take up almost 2/3rds of the first page, and another 1/3rd of the second.
The threads need their own forum.
and on and on...
The only problem with dedicating a portion of the forum to character love-in threads is that if you have a non-tittyfever topic you'd like to discuss about Tali or Liara etc., it would certainly get buried under an ongoing avalanche of adoration responses.
I do like participating in numerous discussions across the forum but experience a unique frustration here because of the *hundreds* of unavoidable infatuation threads. Perhaps the easiest solution would be to dedicate a small portion of the forum to non-psychotic threads.

Well to solve your problem each character would have a thread stickied for it, then other threads can't be pushed to the bottem by people bumping "****** Fever" thread.

People arguing that romances are part of the story and will therefore be discussed are right, but the last time I read the Tali thread people were saying goodnight to each other - and if that is what is driving other threads off the main page then there is a valid point to make that these threads are unfairly "drowning out" other threads.
Really, people saying good night to each other? that seems absurd. These threads need to be moderated or moved to their own forum because they are drowning out other threads.

So is this one!
I mean really…..such is life on a forum site. I should know
as I own and run one myself.
Moderators can’t be bothered with making endless dedicated
sub-forums as that in and of itself can indeed get a bit insane and
even more distracting and or confusing to a forum. All quite simple really. If
you don’t like what is on the T.V. simply change the channel. There are a lot
of threads/subjects on any given forum site that do not interest me so I simply
ignore them and move on. If it’s not bothering the administrator/moderator’s of
this site as for the server load then why should it bother you?
After years of running a forum site I finally realized that
endless dedicated forum headings can at times be quite futile as most people don’t
take the time to post in the proper forum anyway. Relax, ignore and just move
on as it’s not worth the effort. Such is life on a forum site…..deal with it.

Or you can always do what I do, and use Ecael's Adblock filters so that the names of the Love threads are entirely blank
Ignore the "Lock- Mark as Announcement- Mark as Sticky " buttons as you'll never see those unless you happen to be a moderator.
With the adblock filters, you'll just see a big space where the Title would be, but if you do by chance want to enter those threads, you could just click on the green arrow to zoom into the most recent post
