I see that Bioware doesn't own the publish rights to the original game, I think it would be pretty epic if that could rewrite and release the games with better graphics.
There is a slight chance that Atari will have to give up their rights to publish because they are being Sued by Wizards of the West Coast and other companies for failure to fulfill the contract.
I doubt WotC truly cares anymore. They're to busy trying to appease their masters, Hasbro. That is a whole other section I could rant about.

Not trying to deter the start of thread, but I disagree. WotC did a great job with 3E and 3.5E. The possibilities and combinations one could do for character or even monster development were outstanding. Also the d20 system they developed and free publication for other companies to develop their own systems based on it (within reason) has produced dozens of excellent gaming worlds. Amoungst my favourite is Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved d20 system (Monte Cook was one of the co-developers with 3E to begin with). However, ever since Hasbro bought WotC there has been a slight decline in their product quality (imho). The release of 4E and their destruction then discontinuation of the Forgotten Realms has been nothing more than a slap to my face.
