I just finished reading Peter Hamilton's two novels Pandora's Star and Judas Unchained and the whole way through them I kept noticing distinct similarities to details in the Mass Effect universe. I know that the central ideas of space operas are commonplace, but the similarities here seem to go a bit deeper: characters, races, themes, technology, etc. If anybody else has read the Hamilton novels, let me know if you noticed the same thing.
