Hey, someone posted a video of a Tali death for the purpose of inciting negative reactions from Tali fans. 

That's very clever and original; I've never seen anyone do that before.

Thankfully that didn't happen on my first playthrough (everyone survived! I'm that good )

yes... as the romance happens before the death...but do you really want
to mess up your default shepard by shooting yourself in the foot by
having less people to kill the reapers with in ME3?

Yes, don't get the upgraded Shielding for the Normandy, if you do that then she WILL die in the space battle and you can still romance her before the mission so you can have a Bitter-Sweet playthrough
