Concept 1: "Projects" is not the same as "Files to download". As the name says, a project is a project.. something on your mind that can be released or not, or simply a pure idea but nothing else. Communities need something real, players/builders need to know where are the better expectations, where are the better files to try and in which categories are (there are more possible categories than the actually listed), if the files are getting support by downloads and visits and how they progress through the time.
Concept 2: A hub should be a bigger interface (not just this blog-like-social-wannabe) so all categories and stuff can be viewed at first sight, without the need of clicking many times to find something. This also would help showing different blocks, such as hot files, updated files, stadistics, banners from different projects, some moderators and admins for technical support (on the site, not for your DA issues) and news about the community movements, projects, guilds, fan mod sites, scripting, tutorials and.... DAILY updates.
Concept 3: Without a search function, everything will always look b0rked.
Concept 4: I'd really make a new web template for this. I can't see it right here.. between all the world and very different comments.. and the official stuff. I just would create a hub in a new subdomain.
Concept 5: This "Projects" tab.. allows me to upload 1 GB module by browser? I see it hard
