So, I'm playing as a ruthless vanguard, who is mostly paragade, and I was wondering what you guys thought is more "do whatever it takes to get the job done" - let the batarians go to save as many people as possible (letting a criminal go free to save lives) or letting the batarian's blow up the hostages so you can kill those terrorist meatbags.

Personally, I killed the guy and didn't look back.

Your job is to stop the terrorists and try to prevent future attacks. You can't do that if you let Balak escape.

Your job is also to protect people. You've destroyed Balak's forces, foiled his plans, and left him with ashes even if he escapes. It'll be known that a SPECTRE utterly trashed his whole operation. How much prestige do you think he'll keep?

Remember, he arrived with like 60-80 people and leaves with like 5-10 if you let him go. The only human deaths you know about are the three engineers and Kate's brother.

Saving the hostages is worth letting a defeated and humiliated Balak go.

^ LOL!

For me, I let him go on my Paragon playthrough. Killed him on the Renegade one. Two different characters.

I killed him, and told him who the real terrorist was.

I'd say the most ruthless is to go after Balak, wound him, and leave him to bleed out. That's just me though.

**Mild ME2 Spoilers Ahead**

You know, what would have been REALLY nice is if you spared Balak so the Alliance could take him away for interrogation, you run into Balak again in ME2 during the mission on Purgatory. Hopefully getting a fist facelift by some Turian guards. Image IPB

Personally, I wish they'd given us an option to mount his carcass to the front of the Normandy like the reavers in firefly. That'd show the Batarians which species not to miss with.
