Only Mordin, on the 'Hold the Line' section.

I cant believe a salarian can die holding the line, i mean all salarians talking about is holding the line and how they're good at it, mordin is a disgrace to the salarian species

sorry for getting off topic and mocking mordin (i didnt mean it) but I just had to rant

i lost no one...i am too good to lose anyone..that and the fact that i like to look at everything there is to see in game..so i took all upgrades..ship weapons body, all loyal missions..and at final mission..it kinda make sense who to send...the tube part got me thinking a bit..but Tali seemd like a good idea..Jacob,Miranda and Garrus made sense to me for squad leaders..so did Jack and samara for biotics...and i sent Mordin back with the refugees..he is a scientist and good at keeping ppl alive...he is not that good at keeping himself alive

My brain had a blackout and I picked Thane for the vents for some dumb reason...and Miranda wasnt loyal so she died holding the line.

I lost only Thane. Jack couldn't keep the barrier up and he got taken as the door opened. I chose Miranda in her fight with Jack and couldn't win back her loyalty in time for the end of the game.

I lost Legion and Grunt. I sent Legion into the vents because, as he said, Geth can calculate and communicate (one or the other, whatever) at the speed of light. So go figure, I thought if anyone he'd be able to do what was needed to do and get out of there ASAP. Unfortunately, he didn't. (Because I chose Thane to lead the other team, apparently if you don't choose the right person for the original fire team, the technician dies no matter what) I was really upset about that, but hopefully he can live on in the other Geth in ME3, considering Geth are a collective.

I lost Grunt choosing him to lead the second fire team. He is supposed to be the perfect Krogan warrior, so I thought that he would be the best option to distract and take down any Collectors with cold accuracy and toughness.

After all that though, I'm not going to reset or anything like that. I made those decisions, and while I don't agree with how Bioware programmed some of it, I will have to live with the decisions I made. I'll miss them both.

On one playthrough nobody: first of all everyone was happy and loyal.^^

I thought it was reasonable to send Tali (tech expert, duh) through the vents, i assigned Garrus for the second team leader both times because he is awesome... and Batman. Well and because he was a trusted companion from ME 1. And the biotic barrier was made by Jack because I thought it would be wise to let the strongest biotic around do it. And then I took Tali + Legion to the Boss fight (Tali because I thought that with me she wouldn't die so easy as if holding the line, Legion because --> Widow).

On the another playthrough I lost Mordin because I took Grunt and Samara with me. However I replayed it because I wanted Mordin to survive at any costs, for i want him to heal the genophage.

To my everlasting regret I lost Tali in the vents on my first playthrough. I won't be making that mistake on the next.

Apparently, for the most part I played it pretty well, though my paranoia of losing my best pals got some people killed. Mordin I sent through the vents, as I was horrified that Legion or Tali might die (Go figure huh.) Next thing you know, I lose Zaeed leading the fire team the second time, for some reason it just made sense that I didn't use Garrus twice for that. Part of the crew was also killed aboard the station while I got a couple missions out of the way.

Not very major losses, but I was smashing my head into a wall with guilt.

On my very first playthrough, I lost Garrus. (I gave Legion to Cerberus, so he wasn't a factor.)

When I had to choose who would go through the vents, I for some reason started thinking about squad abilities from Mass Effect 1. Since Garrus was a tech expert in the first game, I chose him to go through the vents. I was very sad and quite surprised when he got shot in the face. -_-

I haven't lost anyone on subsequent playthroughs since that point, but am thinking of intentionally getting rid of Jacob.

Vents: Jacob.

'cos I thought that it would be a case of doing ace and tech making it through, or doing not quite well enough tech dying, but either way you succeed. Wasn't going to risk Tali or Legion.

2nd Fire Team Leader: Samara

A millennium of combat knowledge, right? What could possibly go wrong?

That's it.

I lost Grunt and Miranda first time. Miranda wasn't loyal so she died while holding the line, and I had Grunt lead the second fire-team.

What p*sses me off about Grunt dying is that he is shot ONCE and he dies. He's a krogan, and he dies with a single shot? Pfft.

Also, shouldn't he be able to lead a team just fine? I mean, he isn't the smartest guy, sure, but he's got the best krogan warrior traits distilled into him, surely one of them must've been a good leader!

Didn't lose a single person. Still don't get it why people would delibrately put themselves in a bad position for ME3 by killing off certain characters. I'm no fan of Jack myself, but it doesn't mean I'll let her die for it imo.

Assuming they did it for reasons like why I plan to do it with my Adept: they have several other play throughs, and they want to see what it's like in ME3. Plus they just don't like those characters. I for one dislike Jack because, one, she is a homicidal lunatic. Even Grunt knows when to keep it under wraps. For two, she keeps going on about how she is "the ultimate, unstoppable, super badass ****" and she dies so easy. I just don't like how cutscene jack is like Darth Vader, Neo, and Evil Batman combined, but game play Jack is just another biotic (with a lousy special power to boot).

He's a great fighter, but not a greater leader. Same with Zaeed, great at fighting, but doesn't care about other people. Sure, they'd both get out of where ever they lead their team too, but they wouldn't try to hard to keep their team alive.

I lost Grunt on my first play through. I chose Miranda instead of Samara to make the barrier against the seeker swarms and she failed at the end and Grunt bought it. Everybody except Jack was loyal, I didn't have enough Paragon/Renegade to talk her round after I sided with Miranda in their fight.

Not lost anyone since.

I lost Thane in the vents on my first play through because Legion wasn't loyal and I was scared ****tless that I'd loose Tali.

Then Miranda died while holding the line.

I lost Thane because I sent him through the tubes. I was picturing someone infiltrating the base and crawling through tubes similar to how he is when we first met him, I kind of missed the tech part. Five play throughs and I've never sent Mordin back to the ship and I've never lost him either.

You actually killed Miranda without completely gunning for her? I've never heard of that. Usually unloyal she still won't die. Not that I've tried. I saved all my crew on all my playthroughs.

I lost Zaeed for making him fire team leader while I had to go through the seeker swarm area. And I lost Mordin when the team had to hold the Collectors off. And some of the crew died because I didn't start my assault right after the Normandy got attacked.

First playthrough, I lost Legion and Mordin. I hadn't read any guides, so I didn't know about the need for loyalty. Legion was the only unloyal one, though, but I picked him for the vents. Then I sent Zaeed back with the crew because I wanted to make sure they made it. Garrus and Thane went with me on the final mission, because I had no idea what to expect. Lack of firepower in HTL probably killed poor Mordin.

But those were my choices, and it had a big impact on me. I didn't know Legion all that well, but I really felt sad about Mordin. He was one of my favourite characters. It made his talk about his nephew even more meaningful, though.
