I'm deffinatly getting it! New character, new weapon, new casual outfit for Shepard(one that doesn't have the Cerberus logo on it), atleast two new missions. Why wouldn't you pay for all that?

Because a modder could do most of these things and more for free, if the game was properly moddable.

I'm just hoping they bundle it all together at some point so I can buy a physical copy. I don't trust downloadable purchases... Steam's screwed me over too many times to pay for digital copies anymore. If I don't have a physical copy, I'm not paying. It's one of the few times I resort to piracy. But... I've been thinking about making an exception for Kasumi. I don't know.

I'm not buying it. She's not a fully fledged character like the others, so I'd just delete her after a while, like I did Zaeed, because it breaks the whole 'getting to know my crew and caring about them'-theme.

Wait. So you get rid of characters from your team because they don't meet your requirements for story? Isn't that a bit contradictory?

I'll be buying first chance I get tomorrow, hopefully it get's posted fairly quickly for the PC version. I'm really looking forward to playing it and trying out her mission which looks cool from the preview's. I think BioWare has come up with unique mission type's for Mass Effect 2.

One quick question: Does your mind ring a bell at the word "planning"?
When you go to develop something you have a plan with the ideas you want to bring in your product, and without the DLCs, with the practical timeline, some ideas have to be cut out (that's the way games have been developed in the last decades).
With the option to post develop and release THAT additional content which was excluded from the retail plan of the game, you have to start preparing the ground for that conted to be included and work perfectly within the retail game, and there you go the reason for the "infamous placeholders", and if you want to include them in the main storyline as crewmates, you have to leave some "space" for them too (specifically talking about the Normandy) so you can easily fit them later on... would you have better liked to have them standing like statues?

Wether you like it or not, before DLCs were a real deal for game, you wouldn't even probably know about those "additional stuff" and without DLCs we wouldn't have right now Zaeed, Normandy Crash Site, the Firewalker Pack and Kasumi, since they were ALL developed AFTER the gold date for ME2, which is approximately around the 20th of December 2009 (data gathered from the ME2 disc for Xbox 360).

So tell me now, considering the facts stated above, WHY are you complaining? Since so far they gave us a lot for free (I didn't included the weapons in the DLC list) I am glad to pay to my favourite developer a small sum (not even 5€) for some additional content, becouse since Baldur's Gate they've earned my trust and so far they've never lost it.
Ofcourse if they'll do something that won't be worth the value, I won't buy it, but till now they're doing great :)

The "facts" above, huh?

They gave us alot of uselss **** for free. But that isn't the point. The only DLC worthhile is Zaeed who should be and was free because no matter what you say he was originally supposed to be in the game anyway. Some of the very first concept art was of Zaeed (developed after the game was completed my ass). Now if they actually make  vehicle based DLC missions (actual missions) that were in fact NEVER supposed to be part of the original retail game then payment is to be expected. It's not about the money. It's the the principle of the matter. It's like rushing a game out with only 6 squad mates and then charging 15% of the retail cost for what is at best 3% (for speedy types) of the total game time for each additional member. We clearly have different standards. This whole conversation is irrelevant. I don't require that you agree with me.

maybe eventually...I'm still waiting for planet scanning to be nullified before I touch the game again, however. After there's enough DLC that I can play without spending several hours scanning, then I'll probably purchase it all at once.

I'll be getting it as soon as it's available. I already have the points so it's not a problem. For me anything new for ME2 is always welcome.

$7 isn't a big deal, and it's not like you're only getting that one mission.  Having a new character implemented in the game seems like a good deal... also, I play lots of Rock Band, and that game can really, really eat up your money in DLC, so I'm used to it

I'm not buying it because I've already completed the game with all four of my characters who've worked their way up from ME 1. Adding a new character to the game at this point is kind of counter-intuitive; I've already completed the end-game and thus have no need for another soldier/merc/whatever Kasumi is.

Yes, I know, I could do a new playthrough but honestly, I've seen all there is to see in ME 2 at this point. I've already settled in for the wait until ME 3, and throwing Kasumi into my planned hibernation is not on my agenda for the rest of the year.

Now, if this DLC had come out, say, closer to the release date, I'd have been a lot more receptive to it...

Of course it isn't in because it was CUT OUT, you insufferable imbecile.

They originally announced 12 squadmates and cut two (Zaeed and Kasumi) because EA wanted ME2 out at a time that didn't conflict with other EA release dates so Bioware rushed the game out the door. They left placeholders in the game specifically for those two characters or is your level of retardation too great to comprehend that there were two inaccessible rooms on the Normandy?

So your proof that it was originally in the game, is that it's not in the game?

Are you retarded? There was two inaccessible rooms because they wanted to add it later. It's not as if they had zero foresight during the 2+ years it took to make the game.

Bottomline, you have no proof of anything you're saying. You're talking out of your ass. You didn't chat up the pres of EA, or attend any board meetings. You have no proof, or even any reason to believe the game was rushed out the door, nor any facts to back up your claims that Zaeed, etc. was "cut". Either prove what you're saying with facts, or keep quiet. This isn't make believe time.

You are retarded because you have the reading comprehension skills of a toddler... whose mother smoked crack while she was preganant with you. Why don't you have someone of sub-average intellect (still far above yours) explain to you the following:

I could see them releasing a patch that makes it were you can't get everyone through the final mission without all 12 squad members... Image IPB

I'm saying you're retarded because you're suggesting something that is so far removed from reality....so unlikely to happen....it's mindblowingly stupid to entertain the thought. The fact that you "could see" them doing that, despite it being nigh impossible to actually implement without re-coding vast parts of the game, says a lot about you.

You're saying I'm retarded because I disagree with you.

Grow up.

Seems worth it to me, so I'll buy it when I get the chance. Besides I got 900 free points from a EA promotion a month ago so it won't cost me nothing really.

It wasn't cut out, BioWare has already said that they have to plan the dlc very early. It was always meant to be dlc. There's a Gametrailers video (with Geoff Knightley, I think his name is) and he interviews one of the BW doctors, another developer for a company and som other guy and they talk about how dlc has to implemented with the development of the game. They have to plan every dlc from the get-go.

It was not cut from the original game.

If it was up to me, I'd rather have a real expansion pack (say another 15 or so hours of gameplay). I don't like MMOs and I don't like DLC. But then, this is Bioware and this is ME2 so ... sure, I'll get it. I suppose that makes me a bit of a hypocrite, but I can live with that.

Not going to get the alternative appearance dlc though because a) I think it's not worth it, B) I only like Garrus' outfit and c) the line must be drawn somewhere :).

I will be buying this dlc, and won't be "boycotting" it or any such rot.

This is because I don't let the fact that a company occasionally actually charges money for the stuff it produces to annoy me enough to get in the way of a good thing.

This is because I consider myself as normal and not a hysterical, whining moper.

I've always found "internet patriots" funny, myself.  You know, the people who feel they are standing up for a noble cause by blogging about how they are really pissed off at something and won't be throwing money at it.  That's the beauty of capitalism... you don't like it, you don't pay for it.  Just please, don't whine about it.  Then again, I guess I can just as easily not read it :police:

I'm going to buy it, because it has a lot more than just a character. It has a gun, a new casual outfit, a cool looking loyalty mission, and a new area of the ship.
