Yep, I'll get this one. Normally when DLC hits, I've already moved on to another game but I've been too enthralled by the ME universe to stop. In fact, I just wrapped up a ME1 playthrough so I could have things begin just right.

Also, regarding boycotting games/DLC, I can safely say that I have done this, and stuck to my guns. I told myself I wouldn't buy Fable 2, and I didn't. Though I did rent it once, but I felt justified under the notion that Lionhead already made their profit from the video store so my money didn't go directly to them.

I've also boycotted MMOs, but not because I don't like them. I just don't need another addiction in my life. <leaves to smoke>

Admirable. I think it's great when someone can do so. ...But too few actually stick to their guns like you.

Well its more worth it than the alternate appearance pack, I probably would of bought it if Garrus' armor was the same color scheme as his loyalty armor and Jack and Thane didn't get those 80's porn shades.

I'm going to drop $7 bucks for it.

I'll be buying it. Although I'm skipping the appearance pack, it's basically ME2's version of horse armor. I don't mind paying $7 for Kasumi though.

Since I'm not done with my insanity play through I think the Kasumi DLC will be in at perfect timing. Besides, I'm real curious to know what players of femSheps are supposed to be excited about.

Why not? Fable 2 is fun game.

The problem with DLC "value" discussions for a RPG is that by the time the DLC comes out, most players have finished the game and the DLC is almost completely useless in terms of utility to the primary characters.

The Kasumi pack will have more credits, more upgrades, and a new weapon.... which means jack and squat for a level 30 Shephard who has killed everything. A player who only goes through the DLC with that end-game, max level character will not have the same opinion as a player who makes a new Shephard and goes through the DLC at a lower level when the gear/upgrades are still useful.

Same deal with Fable 2. Once you had all the gold in the kingdom, so to speak, and had done everything else... a quick tour of Knothole Glade where you obliterate everything and buy everything new in an hour will of course produce limited enjoyment.

I'm not preaching, and not espousing any playstyle. I just think it's fair to say that the value discussions for the money/time ratio have to include how Bioware intends most people to use the DLC.

Kasumi? Definitely. Alternate Appearance Pack? Most likely not, mainly because the original appearances look much better in my eyes.

Even if the (awesome looking) mission ends up being short, who knows? She could end up being useful. I bring Zaeed most everywhere with me because I find him so damned effective. He's like an amalgamation of all the best combat utilities of Thane and Garrus. Thane's incredible +50% weapon damage bonus + Garrus' assault rifles. I would have paid $7 just for Zaeed, and I plan to do so for Kasumi.

I will buy it, I don't understand all the flamers about it, claiming that it's content ripped off the main game, as a developer myself I know what it means to get with a lot of ideas in concept stage and not being able to get them all in the final product...

DLC tho add the chance to add to the product what was left off for the development, just by preparing the product to use and interact with the post released new content! (becouse, even if you don't want to admit it, the Hammerhead and Kasumi, aswell as Zaeed and the Normandy Crash Site, were developed AFTER the game went gold!)

So yes, I will gladly pay to buy Kasumi which, including the Cerberus Network DLCs, shows BioWare's commitment to let us further enjoy and further amplify this truly masterpiece that is Mass Effect 2.

I'll buy it whenever I get to playing my second playthrough. I'm hoping Kasumi has random conversation dialogue like the rest of the squad. That's why how I pick squadmates for missions: what I think they would say. it was funny to bring Legion when I was recruiting Tali, knowing she would hate him, lol. but I thought Jack would be more snarky on Miranda's loyalty mission. not so much except for one line at the end

I'm gonna use both Zaeed and Kasumi a lot more than the regular companions next time around

I'll wait for some feedback before getting it, seeing as how the hammerhead turned out to be and that being free I don't wanna spend 5 bucks for the same "quality"...

Probably not, the fact that there's no true in game conversations makes the character feels hollow me if Zaeed is any indication. Zaeed felt like an NPC tagging along for the ride.

I will be getting Kasumi DLC on Day 1! I don't understand why so many people are complaining but whatever. I don't really buy DLC for any games but I love ME2 that I will be getting this. Kasumi seems like a pretty cool character and I seem to be one of the few who actually likes Zaeed. Hopefully, she will be just as good as him in my squad or even better.

Personally, this is exactly why I dislike DLC: if they were intending to put it in originally, that means they originally felt it should be included with the £40 price-tag they put on the retail game (i.e., it was meant to be part of the "Standard Package", which retails for £40 here in the UK, at least around release day). Now they want to charge about £3/4 more for it-- suddenly it's value has increased.

Yes, I agree 3/4 is not much-- it's only about 10% of the game's value--, but for me it's the idea of suddenly charging for something that you were going to originally give for the standard sale price.

Now, I admit I don't know the whole details-- I've been away from the community a while-- but I recall hearing talk of how most of her files were already on the disk. As I say, no idea if this is true or not (I have the 360 version, so can't check for myself), but if so, that definitely influences my above-state opinion on DLC.

I'll buy it on Wednesday. I'm a fan of symmetry - If on side has it, the other one has to have it too. There's one empty place on the character selection screen ^_^ Furthermore, there's still one inaccessible room on the Normandy and that has to be rectified :D

But on top of all, I simply enjoy the entire ME universe too much to not to buy it :o

I'll buy it, just not for a while though. From what I understand it's just one mission and I since I don't feel like playing through the game from the beginning again, not just yet that is, then it's not really worth it since I can't use the character for anything else in any of my current saves.
