I could be the best DLC ever created and people will still treat it like its ...![]()
Its a given with these forums. People find something to complain about regardless of quality. I still blame the EA side of things for rushing the release dates. I think things like Zaeed and Kasumi could have been in the game from Go if big daddy EA hadnt slapped a release date on the table and said have this done by this time. Priorities come into play badly then. I've only had two issues with ME2 since I got it, where it froze up on me. That was the first day of release when I got it. It hasnt happened again since. So perhaps I've been lucky. I havent picked up Awakenings yet so I cant comment of any of the "bugs" there.
I really don't think it's fair to blame EA for a January release date. You have FF13, Assassins Creed 2 and God of War 3 in March so that's a no go. So unless you are saying it should have been delayed until the end of April/early May, Febuary is the only option. Two or three extra weeks is good, but probably still not enought time to put Kasumi and Firewalker in the game.
On topic, I'll pass on the costume DLC but purchase the Kasumi.

EA sets the release dates so I'm not sure how its not fair to blame them. BioWare are developers now under the EA Umbrella. There are two options, prioritize what is required for the game to meet said release date by your owners or try and tell them you have more ideas you would like to implement and request an extension. EA would rather meet the original date and use the additional "ideas" for DLC to get more money. If it would have had Zaeed and Kasumi as full characters like the original "dirty dozen" concept was meant to be I'd have been all for waiting an extra month or two.
I'm getting it either way, and I am disappointed they arent as fleshed out as the other characters but I'm certainly not one of the people screaming about the lack of a dialogue wheel on the Normandy.

Not arguing for or against, but can I take it you think paying $350 for ME2 would be reasonable as that would put its pricing about equal with a movie?

I think you're looking at it a little too narrowly - who's to say it couldn'tve made a great Christmas 2010 release?SolidDuece wrote...

Personally, this is exactly why I dislike DLC: if they were intending to put it in originally, that means they originally felt it should be included with the £40 price-tag they put on the retail game (i.e., it was meant to be part of the "Standard Package", which retails for £40 here in the UK, at least around release day). Now they want to charge about £3/4 more for it-- suddenly it's value has increased.
Yes, I agree 3/4 is not much-- it's only about 10% of the game's value--, but for me it's the idea of suddenly charging for something that you were going to originally give for the standard sale price.
Now, I admit I don't know the whole details-- I've been away from the community a while-- but I recall hearing talk of how most of her files were already on the disk. As I say, no idea if this is true or not (I have the 360 version, so can't check for myself), but if so, that definitely influences my above-state opinion on DLC.
Probably you don't know that the planning of additional things/features that did not make it to the retail game (which they would have wanted, not intended, but wanted) is a thing that happens since ages, from Baldur's Gate onward.
About "Kasumi's files on the disk" is the thing that I told before, preparing the game in the development stage to make use and incorporate without problems the planned DLCs (things that were considered not vital to the retail story). If there weren't any DLCs use at this time (theoretically), you would have got the game as it is, and maybe, MAYBE, this content (including Zaeed, Normandy Crash Site, Firewalker Pack) would have never been made it into the game!
Just now, with DLCs they have a way to develop, at a later stage, those additional things and make them available for who wants to buy them, and right now, BioWare is the among the very very few developers which are making a great use and value of DLCs, so as long as they keep going this way, they will receive my support on what I will decide worth it, and Kasumi is.

No there were only 12 originally planned. And with Kasumi that will be it. The "other two" are Garrus and Legion.

Please Bioware, produce quality content instead, like an expansion. That, I will pay for.

Yet another squadmate, no proper dialogue, one new weapon. Kinda pointless for me.
The mission looks fun, and I will probably buy it later, but it is still only side mission.
I would much prefer a proper expansion or a huge pack of side missions, not just one or two.

I seriously doubt that, there would be a lot of pissed off people after that. Pissing off customers is bad for business, especially if you try to get more money out of them while doing it..
