So how much of the game was spoiled for you?

Anyway, I got spoiled on the human reaper, kinda, through accidentally seeing an effing poll someone made. I was so mad.
But then when I played the game it wasn't what I expected. It was worse >.< I expected a human... not... that giant thing that made me cack myself laughing.

Then again I finished Mass Effect 1 about less then a week before ME2 was released so I couldn't even watch anything. But because of someones Youtube playthrough I did know the Normandy would be destroyed but I stopped watching after reading the description of Part 1.
I was shocked when I found out that Jack was a female and not a male. When I went to recruit Archangel I was so confused that I thought I actually had to kill him so when I found out it was Garrus I literally was yelling at the TV I was so happy.
I have watched the Kasumi trailers though and am kind of sad I did now. I recommend for people to avoid going to forums about a game you want no spoilers for. I am very glad I went into ME2 without any knowledge about the game because it made the experience oh so much better.

Intentionally keep my ears closed to updates, spoilers, trailers, all that stuff.
it's like Christmas, you COULD go looking for presents, but why? it just ruins that surprise~

edit: not because I downloaded the game (as could be inferred) but because I knew people would post big spoilers here as soon as they could

I figured out which character must be garrus while playing. I knew Tali was in the squad. I think I found out about Legion before I got to him but while playing.
The collector twist was an awesome surprise for me. I'm glad that wasn't spoiled.

(Didn't read the forums etc.)
I'll definately be avoiding anything ME3 related in the time up to the release.

Great analogy
I think I'll avoid all game sites including Bioware for ME3 but we'll see. It's still a long way off.

so yeah, i knew about:
-shep and cerb
-romanceable ME1 squaddies
-being able to save/kill your teammates
-the particular team you need to save them all
-when you need to go through the omega relay
-the collector twist
all that, and yet the game remains brilliant. the best part of ME2 is of course the loyalty missions anyway, and those were completely fresh to me.

- Shepard dies
- TIMs face
- how the Collectors look
- Wrex being a clan leader
- the new Normandy
- all squadmates
- Shepard working for Cerberus
- and a few loyalty missions
Yep, I've been spoiled.

So I my case I guess I would have been better served getting spoilers up front, but generally on any game I play through the first time prior to reading anything (and some games I miss half the content, but if I had enough fun I'll check the forums and play through again).

I'm still debating whether or not I will stick around the ME3 forums when they start.
If I do I will wait for very vague plot information, list of squadmates(new and old)((Hopefully!) Then I will use all my will power to wait and stay away.
