I ve been toying with this idea for a while, for my vanguard playthrough, should i just use the eviscerator and choose snipers, that would give me all sorts of advanatges, what you guys think?

Of course it gives the Vanguard some long distance potential. Otherwise Shepard is jut stuck with weapons ideally for close range and when playing through on hardcore of insanity to charge right into the enemy is a bad idea.



However, saying that I could never turn down the Claymore shotgun. It is a beast of a gun, charge... melee... headshot, kills most enemies. However, if you are not a fan of the Claymore then you should go for it. Another choice could be to take assault rifle training, a more rounded choice.

I am not too impressed with the evisserator. Snipeing for vangaurd is nice though. I would use charge on snipers and heavy weapons then use sniper rifles on bosses.

It's a superb choice, especially in newgame+ where it's harder to charge and long range enemys become more of an annoyance.

I prefer to take the claymore though.

You'd have to plan that from the very beginning though, since you don't get to change the weapon specialization

I took Sniper only once and did not enjoy it one bit. First of all, IMHO, it looks bad on Sheps back. It is godly against YMIR mechs but I prefer to kill them with shotty anyways. Though I do understand why someone would take it, and "optimal" Vanguard is probably the one with Sniper, but to me it simply does not belong to a Vanguard class.

I chose the sniper rifle as a vanguard and didn't like it, as I came to rely on it too much. Sniping enemies took away from performing as a vanguard.

I don't like giving the Vanguard the sniper. I feel like it doesn't synergize very well with the Vanguard's strategy and the basic concept of the sniper stands greatly at odds with it's 'high risk, high reward' gameplay. Besides, every time you pick the sniper, you'll feel neutered without the Widow, which you can only acquire if you're a Soldier or an Infiltrator.

I prefer a sniper vanguard over a claymore vanguard. It's all in how you like to play.



I agree watch Sinosleep, Thisisme and Ramsens vids. They are all fun to watch and are great in showcasing weapon combos.
