Just like the subject says, thats the error code I'm getting. EA and Microsoft both said the problem should not be occuring on my computer, since the error is supposedly WinXP exclusive.....and I'm running Windows 7. Anyone else having this problem?

I am getting the same error message. I also am running windows 7. "This application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click okay to close this application." I have uninstalled ME2 and reinstalled. I have reinstalled .NET framework 3.5.1 as I read that this error pertains to that part of windows. EA support was no help. Tis frustrating.

I'm getting the same error on Win 7 64 bits. I meet all the recomended reqs, tried installing lates c++ and net framework and still get the error.

I've got Steam version I've played the game perfectly when I had XP 32 bits installed.

The error message is generic.  The "program" it refers to is any one of many executeable sub-routines calling to various elements, so the reinstall mentioned probably refers to a Direct3D API, or a video driver, or to PhysX, or to who knows what.  Anyone who has already tried reinstalling the game should next check all their applicable drivers (and NET Framework also, as well as Visual C+ 2005).

Ok, after a WHOLE afternoon I finally found it. I simply installed DX9 and the game worked.

The game's own reinstall didn't want to handle that semi-automatically?  There is a Dx9 on the disk . .

(For anyone with a different OS version besides XP, be aware that neither Dx10 nor Dx11 is 100% backward compatible, however, there is no interference from having both Dx9 and the newer Direct3D installed, and the game simply cannot run properly with only the newer Direct3D .)

Mine is Steam version, maybe that is the reason.

Although I can't guess why they would change anything so basic as that is, there could be some aspect that differed enough to shortcircuit the automatic step.
