I get the feeling we'll get enough downloadable crap that we'll be paying for the game twice

You've already paid for the game once.  Don't want the "crap"?  There's a simple answer for you.  And no one is twisting your arm.

Ok well first of all, we are saying that because there were few missions, they owe us them for free. We want to play and I guess may have to pay, but we shouldnt.
Also people are really diverging from the topic XD you guys are debating ME1 vs ME2.  What I meant for this more to be is about the lack of quests in ME2 and just discuss reasons and ideas for new DLC [free homefully].  I mean imo ME1 was a very well playing game and even though the buildings did get repetetive, if you think about it, in space, it would be cheap to buy these simple prefab buildings to land (like those prefab houses now adays).  But for saying this someone will probably call me a fan boy because they just play ME2 and may not have ever even played ME1. Anyways sorry now I diverged too :P

The point is, what sorts of missions could we get to compensate the lack of N7 missions?  I rather liked the straight forward rescue or attack hideout missions from ME1. To be honest, the 'creativity' that was present in ME2 missions like the one where you save the crates from the mechs really pissed me off.  I did that mission a few times to try to save more than 15 crates.  I had to since it was difficult to keep 3 mechs' attention AND kill them. Now someone will quote me probably and say it's because I suck :P maybe I am too cynical....

Am I complaining like a baby? I dunno... it just seems like there are too few quests. I mean, people here have been saying quality>quantity, and I guess I can agree with that, but how about something in between.  In ME1 we had say 50 nearly carbon copy quests= lots of play time and stuff. In ME2 we have say 20 'grand' quests that take the same time as 20 carbon copy quests but LOOK better.  Personally Id rather 35 quests that are similar and still have some graphics and looks. Anybody agree?

Ill try out this smiley. It looks cool     :wizard:

You might as well refer back to my first post in this topic re your perceived lack of quests in ME2.

And as for the rest of your post, I don't even know where to start.  How in God's name have you come to the conlusion that BioWare OWE you anything?  They've developed 2 games that you obviously love.  What right do you have to tell them that they OWE you more content because YOU think that there are les missions in ME2 than ME1.

I watch lost.  I Love it.  In season 1 there were 23-24 episodes.
Same for season 2
Same for season 3
Season 4 only had I think 14 episodes due to the WGA strike.

I WANT MY MISSING 10 EPISODES *NERDRAGE*.  THEY OWE THEM TO ME <_<

It's the same thing.

I would like to see an expansion that has numerous missions even if the building designs are all similar. The buildings arent as important as what one does in them. Plus it would make some sense that one would come across many buildings of the same design. Concievably they are modular and thus cheaply and efficiently built, which one would expect if you had to populate and expand into new galaxies. Intergalactic trailer parks/prefab housing would be a must. It really wouldn't be all that different from the numerous developments we see today where a company buys a section of land and then develops it using only slightly modified building plans for all the houses.

Mass Effect 2 was supposed to be a large game with lots of gameplay hours.  Bioware wants to please their fans I am sure, so that they get more sales and look nice.  This is what their fans want.  Charging us 7 bucks per mission when for a 60+ dollar game there should have been a few more is insulting.  All I ask is that I get to see some free missions to complement the game.  Hell if they arent free, they should be cheap (like a $15 expansion pack with 20 new missions and a character or two).  I like ME1 for how many missions it has (and other stuff of course). I like oblivion for all its missions (once again other stuff as well).  ME2 dissapoints me, and clearly many others, in how it has fewer missions than we HOPED.  Anyways this isnt supposed to be a heated debate.... just discussing what we wouldn LIKE to see as extra DLC in the form of missions, and how that would expand the game....

Not quite, the planet enviroments in ME1 were nice, its just you entered a building and its pretty much the same one you ran into somewhere else. The Geth Incursion Missions were actually good in my opinion, but it is just my opinion.

No, the skyboxes were nice, the planet environments were ugly.

edit: the UNC planets - the story planets were not bad

I will moderately agree to that assesment.  Rock planets were done nicely, so were hostie and "Artic" types.  But what I will agree with you on is that the garden planet textures needed to be worked on, you would see a boxy effect, esspecially on the planet eletania

Bringing in more missions isn't going to hurt anyone. If you look at the side missions( again, not N7), they are a complete joke...compared to ANY game.

There are better side quests in Super Mario Brothers for Chrissakes. If someone wants more - something just a little more in depth, I'm not going to whip out a lame "well you got got what you paid for" excuse. They are just voicing their input. I can't believe the corporate nut-huggers on this site.

This maybe reiterating what other people said but I liked the amount of missions in ME1 compared to ME2. And even the DLC is imo better in ME1 then in ME2. Bringing Down The Sky was great...it may have been a "copy and paste" looking mission but it had a good story and different buildings. I think even Pinnacle Station was SLIGHTLY fine. Some of the ME2 missions may have had better looking enviroments, but me walking 2 feet from my ship to see 3 YMIR mechs and having to kill them isn't really fun. (We also don't even get any items that are in those crates)

Though I think that the Mako in the (Completely believable idea) Prefab shelters levels on barren worlds is better than scanning a planet and finding you need 5bil more platinum and you have 5bil of everything else.... (or was that just my playthrough?)

Oh and they NEED more missions. It may have just been me but I completed EVERYTHING and still nedded 300,000 credits to buy everything in the game. After my 3nd or 3rd ME1 playthrough I had like 999,999,999,999 credits or something and couldn't get anymore money. Also getting the level cap in one playthrough of ME2, whereas ME1 it took like 3 playthroughs to level cap.

And please don't call me a crazed ME1 fanboy or something....I think Dragon Age Origins is better than ME2. (imo)

This is exactly what I said, down to the 3 mechs mission :)
Im pretty sure I got called an ass for it!  Nice to know that others think similarly!
cheers!

There are fewer mission, but imo they are better. I went through ME1 3 times(for the achievements, and still need one more) and it was a Pain with big P. All of the missions are the same. I loved it the first time, but the missions got reeeealy tiresome. So I have to say i like the missions in ME2 better.

I actually loved the " boring repetitive " missions in ME 1. They were side attractions. ME1 had quality missions and it had quantity too. To me it wasnt boring at all.

Even though some planets where just reskinned they were done so beautifully. I loved the Mako segments.

You can complain about them all you want, but now instead of getting to visit the surface of these worlds you get to have a boring scanning planet mini game instead!

Boy thats better! For sure. (sarcasm off)

Most of the N7 missions you find by scanning planets. They show up as “anomalies”. If you don’t know where they are it can be a royal pain to find them since you’ll end up scanning planets in about 5 systems before you find 1 mission. Dont forget to buy the star maps on Illium.

Why don't people play ME1 before playing ME2? They are missing out on a great storyline and epic adventure.

You can go through the game without scanning at all... and still afford... all the ship upgrades i think.

From my experience it’s the other way around. ME2 is about 10 hours shorter than ME1, that’s without either games downloaded content added into it.

My "speed" run with ME2 was around 22 hrs. The same in ME1 was around thirty. This was doing all side missions, although I missed a few in ME1.

I will admit, you spend a lot of wasted time in the Mako. I do prefer ME2 N7 missions. Just wish there were more of them.

I dont know.  I loved it.  The controls were a little wonky.

But it made me feel like I was actually exploring a planet.  Like a real live astronaut or something.  Look mom!  Ive got space dust in my boots!   :P

I miss it terribly.  They did at some vehicle DLC to the game, but I havent experienced it yet just having gotten the game.  I have a feeling though its not much.  I wish they'd just found a way to improve on the original exploration mechanic instead of removing it entirely.

Which they did sort of do with the DLC I guess.  But then, I wouldnt know as I havent gotten that far yet.

Why does everyone blame the microtransactions solely on EA? When ME1 came out, nobody was really doing it. Since then, its all over the place from tons of publishers/developers. It seems more to me like Bioware jumping on the bandwagon.

No, EA has said they'd like to include microtransactions in all their games.   Its EA.  Not Bioware.  Micros were out long before ME1 anyways.   Bethesda was doing them with Oblivion.   That much I know.  Like a wizards tower etc.

I think micros are a horrible thing thats ruining games.  Fortunately, Ive found a earn microsoft points by answering surveys so that sort of solves some of that problem right there if  I invest the time.

Lets not forget the first time you ran across your first thresher maw. Or found the Shifty Looking Cow.

What de we get in ME2 like that? Mercenaries, Vareen and mechs. Oh my! Got to follow the very linear road.

All the side quest missions with the Mako on all of these planets added a huge element of immersion to the game. Something that is completely missing in ME2.

The lack of side quests in ME2 is one of the things that really bug me. So many systems and planets with nothing to do in them except to scan and probe. Its bad enough that a lot of the main planet quests have the quest giver within a few feet of who you need to talk to.
